It has been done, DS Shroom Ridge has finally been remade in the style of the Base Game, this is still the Tour/Booster Course Pass version, but the visuals have been completely overhauled!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a video game for the Nintendo Switch produced and published by Nintendo.

This makes me sad because Nintendo really didn’t have to do that much to make the tracks look like this. It’s mostly in the textures, aside from reusing base game trees and slight modeling tweaks. It’s exactly what the tracks needed to be definitively equal with the others, and I was really waiting for a “graphics update” once the tracks were done so they’d have ample time to work on it. I was hoping for it but didn’t expect it

Exactly that, or maybe even similar, like what Nintendo would have *REALLY* made it look like if the track was in the base game (for example, more fully modelled cliffs like the boulder shaped geometry of the cliffs from Tour but just as textured as the base game), if they had continued with at least 1 Wii U DLC Pack instead of only just bringing us 2

@@nolanjthesupergoanimator2909 I heard that the Booster Course Pass was created by an entirely different developer team than the ones that created the original DLC. I guess that explains the shift in graphical and texture quality.

@@bravelion9272 Yeah the BCP team started off very short but a few waves later a few of the members of the base game team helped them with texturing and some stuff, and ALSO, I've heard that Nintendo was going to be updating the BCP DLC after they launch the new Mario Kart

I agree, but also Albert, Wii RR and SNES BC3 is also now in MK8DX BCP W6. If you were to include them in your Rainbow Road and Bowser Castle ranking videos respectively, where would you rank them? And has WiiU Bowser's castle grown on you(at least B-Tier or A)?

While I don't mind what we got in the Booster Course Pass, This is something that we should of gotten. If the developers had the time they needed with the visuals, then we could of seen a much more satisfying result. Fantasic work!!

The Booster Course Pass was a way of playing the Mario Kart Tour tracks on a console and that was a nice idea and I really liked it but the graphics shouldn't have been better versions of the Tour's, they should have kept the style from the base game to make them feel like they belong on Mario Kart 8.

This looks much better than the texture packs that are unironically lazier than Nintendo when it comes to “fixing” the BCP courses. Tour’s geometry and 8dx’s textures look awful together. I’m glad someone actually remodeled the course! Also like the Mount Rushmore mario statues.

THIS is what should been done with all the booster course DLC. Just like all the base game retro tracks, these should get the same treatment. Even the tour tracks should get this overhaul. This makes the shroom ridge in the base booster course look like a placeholder.

Honestly everything here looks really great and matched base game 8, besides maybe the pipes on the cliffs being too "realistic" and worn down + the giant NPCs. But that's likely a larger issue with Tour tracks being ported in general.

The pipes on that version of the track either have that grumble volcano pipe textures or wario's gold mine pipe texture, and I think there were giant NPCs in tracks since the base game, AND there are giant NPCs in Mario Kart 7 too

My only ask, if it’s possible, is to make the cars drive the opposite direction on one side, just like in DS. The sheer mayhem of coming around a turn and getting F L A T T E N E D by a bus is what made Shroom Ridge unique. In MK8D it’s just another car track 😢

A glimpse of how much better the BCP could have been. Imagine Ninja Hideaway with HD textures. (Not saying it was bad, just saying it could have been better.)
