For future reference my 2.0 TDI DSG was making no rattle noise at all, then I drove through flood water and put the bell housing part under water, and a heap of what looked like gravy drained back out. This was obviously all the worn flywheel material, and it started rattling like mad a few hours later as it dried back out. My car was at 260,000kms. Seems the crap in there can keep it quiet yet it's still on the way out, , so something to watch beyond 200kms / 150 miles or so!
I live in LA and drive to Metric Autosport in Huntington Beach to get my 2014 VW GLI fixed. Local mechanics near LA and the stealership tend to charge 30-40% more. I was told they charge $550 to drop the DSG. My car has 200K, luckily many highway miles, but I am beginning to hear the chatter while creeping forward in traffic.
Hey what size are the 6 screws that hold it on??... My new DMF did NOT come w/ the 6 screws. I've mostly found torque to yield specs, but some guys on a tdi forum are saying they're NOT torque to yield, so the truth is a bit of a moving target right now. Torque to yield is still new to me, seen any good explanations?? - thanks
I have been experiencing a problem with the DQ250 gearbox for the last 10,000 km and it sounds like this: When the clutch engages there is a clunk, the gear shifts are very linear and nothing is felt, except a clunk and a little jerk. I have noticed this phenomenon also when I go, in any gear, take my foot off the accelerator and put it back on, a clank is heard. I'll leave some videos below with what I'm trying to explain. I'm guessing it would be the dual mass flywheel, the car having 210k km. The dog bone and mounts are ok. Replaced the CV Joints but nothing changed. The sounds appears when you try to reproduce the noise which gets louder and louder the more you try to reproduce it Also when i'm in idle i feel sometimes some vibratians and when i put it in D, the vibration dissaperes. On VCDS there's no errors from mechatronic unit. What do you guys think? Video on my profile.
@@ben_gurin yes, I went with the Luk brand. Car drives like new again! Apparently they made it better updated version then the OEM one. And cheaper to.
thanks! i just ordered a luk dmf! my tdi is at 109k , should i replace the clutch pack? and if so what should i do, im seeing chinese clutch disk packs for like under 200$? everything else is just so expensive
it usually gets pretty loud before it totally breaks. eventually it will fall apart and damage the trans housing. I usually drive it for a week or 2 before I get to it. .
