Doing the 40k mile transmission fluid change on my 2014 Passat TDI with the DSG transmission. Only takes a couple minutes per liter to pour in from the top. So maybe not as fast as the bottom fill method, but no special tools required, just a funnel and some tranny fluid, and probably 15 minutes of your time. Any funnel or hose that's 1/2" outside diameter will fit inside that metal fill spout for the filter.
