The backdash at 15:06 is quite literally flawless use of movement and timing to make Phils desperate up ball whiff. He had to consciously backdash there reading Phil perfectly, then follow up with max damage punish. Perfect Ryu play, completely unearned in Phils eyes.

I don't know how it is with SF6, but modern TVs have a lot of delay due to the amount of image processing they do. That's why a lot of TVs have a "game mode" that reduces the amount of processing and thus reduces the lag, but even then it is very noticeable if you're playing a game with a lot of tight inputs.
I mean tbf yeah DsP is a cretin that refuses to not play distantly from his TV bc “games were meant to be played with my awesome surround sound system and massive tv”. Legit plays a game competitively (no matter how much he says he doesn’t he’s too obsessive for this to not be competitively) yet he’ll do it on inferior hardware. the MR system exposes him hard as is, the points you gain/lose for that number are based off how many your opponent has. So unless he's beating people around his level he needs to win way more than he loses to get any points at all, hell even against equal points he needs to. He's screwed
That's not how MR works, MR is determined by the rank of your opponent. If you have 1700 MR and get matched with someone who has say, 1400 MR. You will lose about 50 if you lose (they will gain 50), and winning will net you about 3 points. To progress, you need to beat everyone at around your level or lower clean, and be able to take at least a game from people higher than you.

Anytime he plays a modern player, he just makes shit up. Yes, modern can be helpful for quick anti air shoryus, but an anti air normal is also a direction and one button, so how is that any different from his pattern jump ins he does that can be seen from a mile away. Also, he always says "Of course he counter drive impacted, hes got one button DI", but so can everyone else. DI can be put to a 1 button on classic, same as grab, and even then, its not a huge thing. DI is normally 2 single buttons, woooow so many extra inputs to put in, its impossible to DI as classic but its sooooo easy with modern especially with bad netcode Dude. He clearly doesnt know shit, he sees "M" and pulls out his book of excuses and uses all of them, but i guarantee he would lose anyways

It's funny because I'll see Dave's gameplay and then I'll go watch Sajam who's getting every character to Master and it's night and day. Sajam is actively problem solving. He gives his thought process out loud and it's incredible helpful. It has helped me get a few matches away from Master myself after not been a SF player since 3rd Strike. Dave on the other hand is not learning anything. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how he even made it to Master other than the fact that Diamond players aren't actually very good.
He's master because he uses the most braindead charcters in the whole game. Blanka ball, Condor Spire and Honda's Headbutt fly across screen and are plus on block and they have a Command Grab. He wouldn't even see diamond with any of the "top tiers" he cries about because they actually require execution. Dude couldn't even do a shoryuken in the beta 😂.

I've heard him say so many fucking times that these characters are just bad, BUT he still plays them! Why? Oh wait I know why, cuz he doesn't wanna learn someone new, and have to climb the ranked ladder again. BTW he doesn't care about competition and he's not a pro.
He refuses any character he claimed as "top tier" in order not to get exposed (he doesn't realise he's been exposed ages ago). Aside from those three he dabbles in Dhalsim and Zangief, but always returns to his main three in the end.
He mains these characters because they all have a special move that sends his character sailing across the screen to skip neutral, and they all have good grabs so he can have better offense. Characters with special moves that skip neutral and command grabs to bolster their offense are not going to have good neutral/footsies. Generally, consistent characters with good neutral/footsies are the best characters for tournament play (you need to win many sets back to back in order to win the tournament) in any reasonably balanced fighting game, especially one that has as few gimmicks as SF6. Conversely, inconsistent and risky characters like Lily and Honda are not going to be the most meta. Blanka is actually a pretty good character, though, not top tier but he can hang in any tournament.
