I made a second panel (wider then the first try) and since we got 2 (not identical of course) ill wanted to hear how it sounds in stereo. so please join me listening to one tune (in binaural , so use your headphones , also for the low end) no EQ used in the recording . this is the way it sounds on my couch. i did notice , i went a little overboard on the low end.... damned :)
Tune played one of my favorites from the Dinosaur film score by James Newton Howard - Inner Sanctum

These sound amazing. It is rare that a recording of a speaker playing sounds this amazing on my headphones.

Thank you ! if i did something with my room acoustics it might have sounded better but hell :) its like doing the last tiny decorative pieces in a new home

i might do another video with a complete different style of music see how that goes. :) besides that im not at all done playing and experimenting with them so, more to come for sure

hi Joppe how are ya ,been a while ,you make it all look so simple lol,thank for your openess and sharing very much appreciated ,is there a theoretical lowest freq for planar magnetic and is this a function of size ?is there a formula or proportion model for panels ?are there a set of rules to apply to P.Magnetic ?

probably there is, there is one for ESL and i think the same applys to all membrane speakers (to some extend) (size and xmax frequency) but i do not use it , its all about moving air. most often i never make panels that go down to 30 or somethign and i had multiple panels and different sizes, so normally i have an idea how they perform down to 40-50 hz +- in room. so i never used a calculator (i also cant find the site i used before :( )

Do you sell your raw drivers? I got DIY experience with Bohlender RD large "ribbons" no more available...

i am afraid not. or not yet. never was pleased enough to do so. and the long RD tweeters are .. well rather long :) maybe in the future. though. it might be that i have some left overs after a build or test. i usually do sell those just to keep the hobby going.

Did you used DSP to align amplitude and phase?

well i did align the tweeter yes (sort of), and i used DSP to force the bass to go lower then resonance. and even to much when i hear it. then again doing it without is nicer. but sine they are on stands and are small.. not possible at the moment :)

hmm well in theory as long as one likes... but you will get rather high impedance. i need to go thicker alu if i make them any bigger. or separate coil into 2 and parallel them

currently with both foils in parallel its 3.8 Ohm give or take. i should go to thicker foil, to make them larger or add more coil in there. but it cuts less nice on my plotter :) i once recut a 100 micron foil 10 times... and this is 30 micron and 5 out of 6 are usable. i do have 50 micron as well, been a while since i cut it though
