Thank God I found this video, For 8 months now I’ve had static issues using dual pc setup. I worked it out before where the static came through my ears and not the stream but now neither the stream nor my ears have to hear the static!!!
This guy explains perfectly what you need to do. In my case, I wanted to play, Listen, and everything on my gaming PC and have my streaming PC only on when streaming so the setup was not easy. His explanations helped me understand how to do it. Also, I didn't needed the cables he says in the beginning, I'm using a USB mic for now with noise suppression filter on OBS.
@@oki92030I'll try. I have an ElGato external USB capture card. I'm capturing my gameplay with it. This is plugged to a laptop. On my gaming PC I installed the Sound Capture APP from ElGato (Comes bundled with the 4K Capture app). In it, you can tell the Capture card what microphone you're using, so it captures it (I pick the same one I use for Valorant). You can also choose where the sound this app captures goes to. (Of Course the capture card). That's practically it. Sound Capture App captures my Headset and Microphone and sends it to the Capture card. The capture card sends it to the laptop where I use OBS to stream it :) Hope this helps you...
Not at all@@faxiy836 It does happen sometimes that it loses its configuration and I need to re do the setting son el Gaot Sound Capture. But Only happens if I don't use it for a while.
Bro ive been on this for weeks and this video kinda work for me. Butttt it was a great starting point and the ground loop isolators saved my life ty bro
Overclocked you are correct. It's a good starting point if your looking into a good low cost solution. With streaming mixers and voicemeeter there are a ton of dual PC audio solutions out there! Glad it could help somewhat!
hey, so this definitely works i got the audio from my gaming to send to my stream pc with no problem but i am playing audio on my streaming pc to send audio to my gaming pc to receive audio for stream alerts but i am not getting anywhere with it.
I have a HyperX Quadcast S and 3.5mm cord connected to back of Quadcast to my headset The Quadcast then runs to pc via USB. Will I still be able to do a setup like this? I had to shut off “listen to this device” cause it threw me off hearing myself talked with like a 200ms delay.
I just use OBS teleport on both of my PC. Streaming PC have a Stream offline background above that the whole stream which is coming from the Gaming PC. For me it was the easiest method, but i know will get about 5% more perfomance if i put all of my things to the streaming PC. Dont know if its worth it with this method. Thanks for posting! Liked!
On the gaming PC, go into the sound control panel. Under the recording tab, look for the line in from the steaming PC. Right click then select properties. See if the "listen to this device" is checked. Sometimes windows doesn't default that option..
I am getting signal and everything seems to be working fine except getting the audio to come from the streaming pc to the gaming pc. the sound works fine I just cant hear anything on my headphones on the gaming pc any suggestions?
Hi Chaotic, if it doesn't work by default go into the sound control panel on the gaming PC. Go to the recording tab and check the "Listen to this device" box. Apologies, I realized I never included that. Good catch!
This was such a helpful video. I just have one problem, how can I not hear myself talk on the mic? Lol, I have to have “listen to this device” ticked, but I can’t think when I start talking over myself lol. Thanks.
since you have the listen to this device selected for your microphone, make sure you have the line out selected as the "playback through this device". That way the mics audio is being played back through the aux cable instead of your headphones (which are your gaming PC's default playback device)
everyone praises voicemeeter but ive followed at least 30 guides on voicemeeter and still to this day it makes my audio insanely inconsistent and sometimes out of nowhere will start crackling, never found a solve except not using it..
If it's crackling, you have mismatching sample rates. I had that issue too and it drove me crazy. Had to make everything 48khz, from voicemeeter input to every virtual audio cable. I get it though, hope you found something that works better for your setup!
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 yeah no I've done that already ahaha, it drove me crazy too, spent 12 hours straight trying every little thing everyone said would fix it and nothing ever worked lol, oh well. Thanks anyway tho, i appreciate it!
I feel like I full understand this but el gato sound capture refused to pick up any input from my mic no matter what I did or what mic I used. Really frustrating because this software does everything I would need but is also simple to use. Guess I’ll spend the day figuring out voicemeeter
I wonder if the lack of any ground isolator is why I get the horrible static over OBS on my capture PC once the mic is bumped up by ~30Db so that it's loud enough to hear over the sound of the game. It's crystal clear if I just Listen on the game PC, full of static playing through capture PC.
HI, I've my earphones plugged into the line out of my gaming pc. and i'm having a hard time getting my mic over to the streaming pc. i have just 1 3.5mm jack cable connected from my gaming pc to streaming pc as i dont really want to hear the audio from the streaming pc. im using a usb mic on my gaming pc which i want to bring over to my streaming pc but the connection is not working for me i've tried choosing between multiple options but no luck so far. could you please help
So what if I only have one PC with a line in/line out and a laptop with only a headphone jack (no line in/lin out). Is there still a way to accomplish this?
Hello I have one question, I am using a laptop and a PC for my stream (at least I want to use them like this) but the laptop does not have line in socket, what can I do in this situation? thank you!! btw very good video!
Hi Arthur, Only suggestion I've been able to provide is a usb audio adapter. Plugs in via USB and comes with the line in/line out ports. Can't guarantee how well Windows will work with a device like this add I've never tested it. If you try one out, let me know if it works!
Where do you have your headphones plugged in to if you're using the line out on the gaming PC to send to streaming PC? Is it plugged in to the headphone jack on the capture card?
Hi Average Gamer, I use an audio interface (Behringer UMC202) and have my headphones and mic fed in through that, which is then plugged into my gaming PC via usb
No matter what I do and or select on my Streamin PC, I can't manage to ever hear my Streaming PC Audio over to my Gaming PC. Is there something I might be doing wrong?
On the gaming PC, under the sound control panel did you go into the "line in" properties and check the "listen to this device" box? Also check the sample rates of all your devices, make sure they're 48khz
I noticed you set up bidirectional audio signals, but only use the one from the gaming PC to the streaming PC. My gaming PC only has a Line Out and Mic 3.5mm jacks. Is this a problem or can I ignore the Line output from the streaming PC to the Gaming PC, as it's not used in your video anyways?
Had someone else mention a situation like this, only thing I could suggest is a USB-->audio jack converter, decently priced on Amazon. But I've never tested this so I'm not sure if windows would treat it as an input/output device. Would be interested to know if they work!
This was super Helpful to setting up my audio since I switched over to Dual PC, really well done! How would things change if I were to add an audio interface with a goxlr mic (no mixer) to the setup as you have here? I'm thinking of just plugging them into my Streaming pc.
Thanks Concealed! You can totally do that! I actually just bought the GoXLR mini. So you handle all ur programs on the stream PC, then send a 3.5 over to the gaming PC from the GoXLR. In the software u can choose specifically what audio source to send over. Need to make a video on that too lol. Not enough time in the day I swear
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 yea I got a "focusrite 2i2" as my audio interface and a "at4040" for the mic, I'll probably get the xlr mini sometime down the road, I just gotta get this to work for now. Thanks again
I wonder if I will only need 1x3.5mm(line out from streaming PC>line in to gaming PC) if I have 2 mics and a capture card(of course)? I mean line out from gaming PC>line in to streaming PC seems just for the mic, right...?(or maybe I misunderstood something)
If you have 1 mic per PC, then it yeah you shouldnt need another 3.5 cable. you would just need to hear alerts from the stream pc. all other desktop audio would come from the cap card. I believe what you stated would be okay, but then again I dont trust windows =)
This video is slightly confusing. How do I get all gaming pc audio into the stream PC? This just shows how to get the mic audio to the stream pc. Do I need a capture card from my gaming pc into my streaming?
Try reinstalling he Elgato software. It also might be disabled (windows gets weird sometimes), so right click under the recording options and view all disabled devices. A fresh install/reboot should work though. If it doesn't you may have to manually delete the drivers then reinstall.
The only way to download it is by downloading the Elgato Video Capture software, its baked in. Thankfully the video capture software isnt required to use this method. Sadly the dont let you download just the Sound Capture software.
Sadly you have to download the entire elgateo game capture software to get it. You don't have to use the game capture software to follow this guide. It downloads its own standalone app and you can't download by itself. Should be links in written guide in the video description. Thanks elgato lol
I have my mic on my streaming PC. Can I still use this tut to have my mic go into game audio on the gaming PC while using the same mic for streaming on the streaming pc? Or must it be connected into the gaming? I'm having slight issues following all of this.
I also want to know this, and I wonder if I will only need 1x3.5mm(line out from streaming PC>line in to gaming PC) if I have 2 mics and a capture card? since line out from gaming PC to streaming PC seems just for your mic...?
would this let me use my laptop for discord and have my desktop just playing games but have both audio from desktop and laptop coming into one headset?
I don't see why not, the line out from the gaming desktop just handles your mic. So you could choose the line in on the streaming PC for both discord and OBS.
Ya know the wave link is one of the mixers I haven't bought and tinkered with. If it works the same as the others, should just be a 3.5 aux from the mixer to the stream PC, then a 3.5 aux from the stream PC to the wave link. From there you use the elgato routing software to direct where you want the stream PC audio to play
Capture card should not have any effect on this guide. All that's needed is the elgato sound capture software, but the only way to get that, is to install elgatos recording software (since it's packaged together).
If I have speakers plugged into my streaming PC's line out. Would it be possible to put the other 3.5 mm plug into the blue port or the pink one? At 2:12 is where I am thinking about this. I can just unplug them, that's ok too.
Also if I am using the elgato HD60 pro, would it screw up any of my settings? Currently my only mic is plugged into my streaming PC and so are my speakers/headphones.
@@haydenmurray9696 So for question 1, sadly the speakers would need to be disconnected. As the blue port is specific to the line in, green to line out, and pink is a mic input. If you have a black 3.5 port, those are meant for rear speakers in case you wanted to have a surround sound setup with your PC. But I've never tried that so no promises =) Regarding question 2. The Capture card still handles all of the desktop audio via the HDMI. This setup is made with the intention to have the mic on the gaming PC. With the the mic on the stream PC, you can still run your mic's audio over to the gaming PC to be used in Discord/games etc.... but that means friends or ppl in game will hear your stream alerts/any audio from the stream PC since its all condensed into one signal. Hope this helps!
Unfortunately no, because you're consolidating all streaming PC audio into one feed it'll send the stream PC's Desktop audio/alerts and send it through your microphone as well. At least in my testing thats what happened.
Hi Chippendale, As long as the sound blaster has a 3.5mm input/output, its your call boss! Shouldn't matter either way as long as it can send/receive audio signal.
Do you absolutely need the elgato sound software for this to work? Or can it be done with just the wires, stock windows software, and obs? I dont need to hear my streaming pc. I just wanna hear my gaming pc and having my headset mic being captured to the streaming pc obs.
I tried splitting the audio using windows, since you can select the output device for each running program. Didn't work for me. So the elgato software helped bypass that limitation in windows. By all means if you find another software that does the same I'd love to know!
Only thing I could suggest is a 3.5 audio splitter on Amazon. has the same inputs required for this guide but I haven't tried it so I can't speak on the quality of the device or any set backs it may have.
Did you make sure that your headphones and capture card are displayed like mine were below? gyazo.com/78c37c31257388c4895a8bfc876e89e5 Then double/triple check your sound settings and sound control panel.
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 I had those shown as “on” but it wouldn’t play through both. I had to delete it all, but I will try again to see if that helps. I ended up losing my mic transferring over as well
Ive been at this for 2 days now. And I just can't get my mic to come through to the streaming PC. Ive been checking settings over and over multiple times. Its set exactly as you have it. Its a Yeti , USB connected to my gaming PC. Any help ?
Even the "listen through this device" box is checked? On the gaming PC? That's the only thing I could think of that would prevent audio from not going over.
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 Even that bro. Ive ended up plugging my mic into the streaming PC. I got fed up with it. Im using the HD60 X . Im just wondering because it's a newer model. Its some how just not compatible with the elgato sound program. Audio comes through from gaming pc to the streaming pc on obs via hd60 x , not the line out jack. However the line out audio from my streaming pc is coming through to the gaming pc. Its strange.
Its baked into the Game Capture software as stated in the video. There is no stand alone software anymore sadly. Good this is, u don't have to use the game capture software.
That is a tough one, if the laptop is the gaming PC you wont be able to hear the alerts coming from he stream PC. Vice versa if the laptop is the streaming PC, it wont be able to accept incoming audio. Only other suggestion I could give is trying an external sound card. But I've never tried it, so your mileage may very. Good luck!
this is so long ago but i hope u take the time to reply to me. does it work well with the wave link and el gato capture card? i have the same problem thinking it was my pc or sound settings. so if this issue is fixed i will be sure to update: i have spent Days or almost a week trying to fix this. . .
This is more or less pointed towards folks without any streaming mixer involved. Should be able to have aux cables going to and from the wave link, then use the elgato routing software to pass audio between both PCs. Then again. Haven't used a wave link yet.
It should, you have to download the Elgato recording software JUST TO GET ACCESS to the Elgato Sound capture. You don't need the recording software to complete this tutorial. For some reason Elagto wont let you download the sound software itself.
@@kawhiie1108 @gameontracker Amazon sells USB to aux adaptors, although I cant guaranteed this method as I havent tried it. Only issue I could see happening is windows being dumb and not knowing to sent output audio through the USB device.
@DweebHub Tutorials so i went through this tutorial. For the line in and out. For some reason i can hear the audio from the game. But cant hear anything from streamlabs. Any ideas?
It should, if you noticed in the video my mic I was using as an example was USB mic. Windows would treat your Logitech headset in the same manner. So you should be good to go!
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 Question #1 - This is only for just getting my gaming headset microphone voice to the stream PC so that my stream can hear me and to hear my stream alerts when someone subs and using bits? Question #2 - The Elgato capture card will capture my video and my audio at the same time? I don't have to use your setup to capture my video games audio? Question #3 - on your setup guide will I lose any audio quality? For example, going from a mixer to your setup guide, will I lose the quality of the audio? Question #4 - on getting the 3.5 millimeter I'll have to buy one that shielded but is there a brand that is better than the rest of them? I see some 3.5 mm aux cables that has double layer shielding one has gold plated so which one would be the best to get? I don't want to get a cheap 3.5 mm aux cable or isolator. I would like to say thank you for message me back sorry to bother you with all this, and I really appreciate your help.
Nope! All audio is transfered through the 3.5 mm cables. The elgato sound capture forces windows to route the audio. The only method of dual PC audio that uses ur home network are VoiceMeeters VBAN or NDI
Yes sir! In the video, there's a part I show how crappy the audio is without them. I made the mistake of not using them at first, was so bad I had to end my stream
Hi Kuaryz, It should be sent through the HDMI to the capture card. Or using this method in the video, you could force the desktop audio to route through the cap card. Should be around the 03:00 mark u can see my HD60S
Hello, with this method, is there a way to have music sent over from your gaming PC to your streaming pc and have it set to OBS as its own slider in OBS in your Streaming Pc ?
Also, i have my Discord on my gaming PC, is there a way that i can have it run differently and put onto a different input on streaming pc or will all the sound from the Output me mixed of Gameplay as well as Discord.
