Good morning y'all, Danny I know you always say you have 10 acres. I say you have a beautiful Piece of Heaven for you and Wanda. I don't blame you we have drones and in all honesty they're not needed. I am so proud of both of you and everyday a huge new accomplishment. Stay blessed y'all , we love you, your Ocala Family. Smiles
Your accents are music to my ears. I heard you say, "thisaway" once. That by itself reeled me in! Gonna subscribe and see what y'all got to share with me. :-)
Well, I'm very impressed by the Professionalism of the, She Shed. I didnt watch all I sorta zoomed through it. Thank you for sharing what real living looks like. 🙏🔴⚪🔵🙏 "God Bless America"
I love how meticulous you are in your work. Reminds me of when my Daddy would say, " Anything worth doing, is worth doing right". You definitely do it right! Thank you for the tutorials Danny & Wanda! Invaluable!
Watching you build with a metal roof gives me insight into how the metal is suppossed to fit. I have a old metal building that i wanted to keep the metal and this shows me what pieces are missing and how to replace the trim pieces. Thank You so much
I appreciate the skills that you bought by hard labor and dedicated improvement. Thanks for sharing it with those who's choice of labor was required different than yours.
I like that you and Ms. Wanda are so real, and you do awesome work and very neat. I have learned a few things along the way of this project. Thanks and God Bless.
WHOAAAaa LOVELY!!! It just POP POP POPS! Your ability to do projects VERY WELL TOGETHER and the planning of your projects is a site to behold. Now you can't tell me that you didn't waste a good part of your days just 'takin'a gander' over all that you've accomplished...I sure would! I'm happy 4 U both and thanking Him with you for allllllllllllll the blessings He has bestowed upon you. I can just hear Miss Wanda snappin' open paint cans and completing the 'POP' factor! Thanks 4 sharing. Health and God Bless you n' yours! :)
Glad to see that you just got the back covered. Come July/August you will have to do a temp check in the root cellar. Hope you get at least a 20 degree drop.
NO shortcuts on 'your' work, Danny! The difference between sound and durable, and 'fingers-crossed!' Your buildings are such that you can sleep thru a storm! What an example for others who want to improve their homesteads! : )
Just popping in to say how good that roof looks! Who knew that trim and fascia could and would make such a big difference as to water getting inside a building or not! I didn't have a clue it was so important. Thanks for the lesson and wake up call! As always much love from So.Cal.💟
Thermal mass, speaking of ............. Best back fixer I've found is laying flat on my back on the storm cellar out back when it's nice and warm from the sun shining on it..... snap crackle pop as the old bones go back into place. You are making construction work look to easy. Thanks for the great videos !
Good morning Danny and Wanda watch you guys do all that work got me ready to do some much needed touch-ups a little plastering and some painting one room at a time thanks for giving me the push to get started 👍
Rooster crowing . Danny love the way you explain everything. In detail Feel same about drones as you do waste money . Already enough spy sruff To many gadgets how lazy are people getting god bless.
wow with quite a drop off on that one side are you going to put up a cross rail with maybe some cattle fencing so it won't obscure your vision yet give strength to stop anyone from falling off the patio? Absolutely beautiful job!!! The whole building is lookin gooooood!!!
The drone would help check your property without driving around and let you see areas that you can't drive in or walk in and also it shows all the areas of your property (The lay out) just my 2 cent
It would be cool if you could install a dumbwaiter to help with transporting the canning supplies up to the canning room and transporting the canned goods back down. Just an idea.
Danny, since construction is your passion, feel free to schedule a vacation up here to Oklahoma anytime you’d like. I’ll provide all the lumber and materials and let you build to your hearts content! I have 27 acres ready for you. 😆 and Miss Wanda and I can work in my greenhouse while you’re busy with your passion! ☺️
I'm also building a shed, mine is tiny compared to yours, its just 16 x12, but its going to be built with block and steel reinforced concrete, its more of a bunker than a shed, Hurricane 🌀 Maria had 200+ mph up here, I have to build beyond US code to survive quakes and catastrophic hurricanes.
So, so neat and thorough. Can’t wait to hear how this impacts positively your cellar. I have a question though-where will the clothesline be moved? I so very much miss having a clothesline! Plus it’s a cross; something to think on while hanging laundry... Blessings and Peace.
Looks really great guys !!! This season I will be installing several eve troughs to catch as much rain as possible to help with garden watering.....take some load off of the well. Not looking forward to the weekend gonna be single digits down near zero......will have to put a scarf over mouth and nose while doing chores.....the cold air with them temps is rough on my heart.....but I still do my chores...just more time inside when its that cold. I wonder Danny do they make a silver concrete paint....to help reflect any sun that sneaks under the new sheshed porch roof ?? 🤔🤗
GREAT VIDEO THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE DANNY I LEARN ALLOT FROM WATCHING YOU AND UNDERSTAND WHY YOU DO THINGS LIKE YOU DO. HAVE A QUESTION WHEN YOU PUT THE SCREWS ON THE METAL YOU DONT PUT THEM ON TOP OF THE RIBS YOU PUT IN THE FLAT PART. I SEE ALLOT OF POLE BARNS THEY PUT THE SCREWS ON TOP PF THE RIBS AND THE SCREWS HAVE A RUBBER WASHER ON THE SCREW WHICH IS THE RIGHT WAY? PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD. THANK YOU
The metal manufacturer requires it be put in the flat part next to the rib. The screws have a rubber washer on them. Putting them in the rib you can't tighten them down without buckling the metal. And it dosent hold the metal down tight against the lathing.
The pergola/porch looks so good guys...Danny just wondering what type of timber the boards on the rafters are and there size here in Australia we call them battens but I like the look of yours better and what type of nails did you use to put them on...my pergola has to be reroofed I did it when I was 23 and I'm now 57 like you and Wanda if I keep moving the bones don't ache as much...
Miss Wanda, where did you get that adorable little greenhouse from I just noticed it in this video. I desperately need one or two for this coming Spring so if you get a minute, can you please tell me where you got it and how much it was? I LOVE farming too and have 6 acres in Virginia. Blessings.
@@DeepSouthHomestead Miss Wanda, Just a little note to tell you that I subscribed to your crazydazes and gave you a thumbs up and also a million thanks for the info on the greenhouses. Today is a very sad day for my USA but you and Danny bring sunshine into my world and for that I thank you. I'm a US Navy widow.
THE ROOF OF MY CELLAR HAS 4 INCHS OF RIGID FOAM on top then 6 inchs of sand, and 6 feet of clay, being out frost depth in winter is 7 feet, i didnt want the cellar freezing, it stays at 24 to 38 degrees year round, with one room with a heater and wood stove in it, if ever needed. when i hang my sides of beef, pork, moose i run 2 fans to move the air around so the meat ages nice, with out a fan running the out sides of the meat will get a white film on it, just from dead air, even tho i have 2 4 inch vents. some day i want to put a dexk over top from ground level on top of the cellar out over the entrance to the cellar that at the bottom of the hill because every snow storm it drifts in all most to the top of the cellar and it a hell of a job to dig a path to it, when i built it, i put a 20 foot long 6 foot round pipe in the ground to a door way in the cellar, with a floor in the pipe to walk on, as my plan with my ex wife, was to built a 1500 sq foot home with a walk out basement into the lower yard, and put a door in the basement to get in to the pipe then into the cellar or other room, and run my well water line under the floor in the pipe to supply water to the house, as my 117 foot drilled well is in the very far corner of the cellar as well as my presser tank. but that will never happen now, just like my shop will never be finished. i build this place up from bush since i was 18, but the worst thing i did in my life in Oct. 26 1998 was get married. that ended my dreams, i just turned 59 a few days ago
@@DeepSouthHomestead Danny, are these lag bolts or bolts with nuts and washers ? Do you just tighten to the rib or did you use a spacer so as not to distort the metal? I need to do this on the end wall of my barn. Thanks for this video! Glynn
Great work.... But... Yet again.... Sorry. I do this all day everyday... Why do your ribs on the roof not line up with the siding? And why do you not do a hem on your cap to close off the eaves? Maybe I can learn? But seems to me with the wind that it has a way to tear the cap off not being closed. But... Still beautiful work not downing you. But maybe there is something I may learn. Like how you counter flashed your end wall. We usually pre- lay the " ratbar over the wall pan and not put a z channel on it. Seems better for your climate.
When installing siding you start in the middle of the building so you have a rib to screw your rake and gable to in the peak. The roof just starts from the outside edge and runs across the roof.
@@DeepSouthHomestead yea. I have ran a lot. I like my siding ribs and roof ribs to line up. Doesnt change it being dry. Just personal preference. Kind of like lap siding lining around a corner
I see you’re putting up all your metal roofing with nothing under it to protect condensation from getting inside. I’m considering metal roofing and thought you needed plastic protection under the metal.
