My gosh!! Was one of the all time BEST!! I remember his songs so well...and I was only a kid!! thank you, Duane, for all the goodness you put in this world with your music!!
I agree 100% & about same age as you, 77 yrs, & so fortunate to have had the pleasure of growing old with this kind of fantastic music. And love the sax!
🎉You do not hear any instrumental music in todays world. Especially Duane. Love his style. A old time listener doesn't have to guess who that is playing that guitar. That's "D.E." !! 👀 😅👍🏼
First heard of Duane Eddy in 1986 when he collaborated with British electronic group Art Of Noise on a version of Peter Gun. It was brilliant . Lolked up more of his music after that . I love his guitar sound . I long may he keep on trucking .
The saxophonist is none other than the great Steve Douglas, who was an integral part of the Wrecking Crew! This man was on everything from the Beach Boys to the Mamas & the Papas!
Big D.fuckin,A Back when a rap wasn't required, great instrumentalist had great tunes and airwaves that played them. To all those great musicians to many to list here, thanks for teaching us how to play and how to have fun!!!! ROCK-ON J DEUCE RNR
I saw Duane at the Liverpool Empire many years ago and we all screamed because he was drop dead gorgeous in those days. We can all cherish our memories.
This guy is tge God... Can't forget Chris Isaak's Wicked Games' and regard this as a tribute to Duane, Just that start , the way he plays tge first two chords, unmissable.and his own style...I'm not a guitar player but I think anybody who is learning to play a guitar can learn so much from this guys music. God bless you Duane...thank you for such a brilliant musical legacy. T
I first heard Duane Eddie in the late fifties at the age of 5 or 6 in my older brothers room. Since then, I have been a fan of Duane, and a fan of good guitar!
Duane Eddy was a very underrated guitarist. But he was very good. He incorporated sax, strings and many other things in his tunes. His guitar playing on Robert Mitchum's Ballad Of Thunder Road wasn't credited but that was him.
my elder sister was one of the worst bullies in my life for a time. naturally when l bought a Duane Eddy album long after his popularity peaked she had to say something nasty.
I've just found this quite by chance and, as a teenager here in the UK, I bought those numbers first time around. And do I remember buying an LP entitled, 'The Twang's the Thang'?
Couldn't figure out who the host was for awhile but it's the late Alan Thicke, probably a clip from his Thicke of the Night late night show he had many years ago.
Back then very few vehicles were equipped with 4-wheel drive, Jeeps ,and truck, not like modern vehicles with all wheel drive. A ride over 4O miles of bad road was ROUGH, to say the least.
