This video is a quick "how to" on making EP style craft fur brushes. These brushes use congo hair for the core fiber, craft fur as the winging material, and includes some starburst dub to add some subtle flash.
Great stuff, David! . . . . . I've found that "select" craft fur (whatever the implies) takes color from Bic Mark-It permanent markers very well. A 36 color pack of these markers can be bought for about $20 online. They are much better than Sharpies. Additionally, you can obtain 3 - 3.5 inch lengths of "select" white craft fur from a 16x16 inch patch taken from a Brentwood Mongolian Faux Fur Pillow at Amazon for $12.50. That's a lot of material for very little money. I hope this helps you and other respondents to your video.

Brilliant video. I'm a saltwater tyer and would like to know how the dubbing brushes are used. Do you just cut pieces of dubbing off the wire as needed, or do you apply the dubbing, wire and all to the hook?
You wind the entire brush onto the hook. The brushes can be used to build bodies, make heads on streamers, or add bulk to a fly. In my Poser Pike fly, the brush is mainly used to build up the bulk towards the head of the fly. The bulky body flairs the winging material out to create a hollow fly effect. This makes a 8 inch pike streamer very light and easy to cast while creating the illusion of a big baitfish.
It came from the hareline custom dubbing blending kit. It has stiffer bristles than other ones ive found on the market, but a standard dog slicker brush will work just fine
RU-vid auto generated captions thinks you're making "crapper" brushes. I'm guess you could use them for that but seems like a lot of effort when a squirt of bleech would do the job just fine.
OK great. At .008", it's between Med (.006") and Lg (.009")on the Uni scale. I was using the copper from and old extension cord but it wasn't cutting it for large streamers. SS is so much more robust over copper. Thanks!
