Hate reverse tying in craft fur or want to knock out a dozen streamers in 30 minutes. Well you can’t do that, especially when you might have OCD tendencies but it sounds nice. Dubbing Brushes take time, especially when you want them to look right. It may take you 10-20 minutes to make a brush that you may get 2-5 streamers out of, but those 2-5 streamers are wicked strong due to the stainless steel core and you can crank them off the vise quicker. Do Dubbing Brushes save time per fly? I argue that it takes the same time (including time to make the brush and tie the fly) but is way way faster vise time. I only make brushes for patterns I know work and I load my box with them. This is a craft fur brush that that forms the base and color primarily of craft fur. I don’t do my craft fur brushes dense since I usually use it for not creating body bulk but rather accents and compliments to my natural feather bulk. Flash is almost always in and brush I make and lately I have been using ripple ice due to is unique properties and rigidness. Mix and max, find the right colors, and a nice table helps.

Wow this is really awesome. How many flies can you expect to get out of one of these brushes?

Sumner Mclain really depends on the fly. I used this one for a articulated streamer with 5 shanks and a main hook so I used most of it.

Can you give me some info as to the vacuum cleaner you use. By the way great video. I just got done making a dubbing brush table that uses a battery drill.

I have a Dyson handheld one. Takes up minimal space and the suction is bomb. Stole it from my wife. The shop vac too up too much room for me.

Awesome man! Your the best. For a gamechanger needs to be tapered right? I Need to start learning that
@Svenddiesel
@Svenddiesel 5 лет назад
There are a few different ways of doing that. One is to make (depending on the length of Gamechanger) 2-3 difference size brushes and use the smaller diameter near the back and work your way up to the larger ones in the front. The easier way to do it is a tapered brush and also easier with the craft fur because you just pull it out in clumps and put the longer ones to one end and the shorter ones to the other, space out and magic you have a gamegchanger in 30 min to an hour. hope that helps.

How long should i start out in the beginning and end up at the end of the tapered brush? I thought about just building individual brushes with different lengths instead of tapering one but not sure what size to start with and end with

it really just depends on how big your imitation bait fish is. I usually make my "typical" 4.5 inch game changers with the first shank being mabe a 3/8" to 1/2" oval and work up to the head being in the 1-1.5" range. Maybe make three, one that is 1/2" one thats .75 to 1" and then one a step up from that.

Thanks a bunch. Will be trial and error for me but ill get them dialed in.

@@allenhulsey605 so this one is this video wasn't designed for a gamechanger, but could be used for the head in theory. I would want to add more ripple ice to provide more structure for profile or something similar.

What streamer patterns are you using these brushes on?
@Svenddiesel
@Svenddiesel 5 лет назад
Lee Dzierzanowski this particular one will be in an articulated streamer. But you can use them in lots of streamer patterns as the body material

Svend Diesel will you be posting that video? I’d be interested in seeing an articulated streamer tied with a brush.

Lee Dzierzanowski I’m posting the photo of the streamer I tried with this brush today. I can add a video to my list for the future maybe
