This fly was inspired by Gunnar Brammer's Impostor and All Spark. This fly relies on the body tubing to build up the bulk of the synthetic brush and help create the hollow fly effect. The compressed head gives the fly a side-to-side, jerk bait action; while the tear meander and the loon UV resin keep the eyes in place.
Hook: Superior Angler 4/0 streamer (similar to Partridge Universal Predator X)
Body: 1/4 in. Body Tubing and Long fibered synthetic brush
Wing and Belly: DNA Frosty Fish Fiber
Head: Long Fiber dubbing similar to Laser Dub or Monster Dub
Eyes: 12mm Brule Outdoors, Chub-S

You are incredibly talented and will continue to progress over time. Good to see the younger generation dabble in the art. Nice tie, David. I’m going to tie a few for a trip to the Amazon for Peacock bass. Have you ever considered adding some bucktail at the back of the shank before you add the tubing?

Great pattern , wish you cut the music and did it slower explaining how you tied the fibers and dubbing as in tied it 50-50 or 70-30 on top and bottom . I do love that song but im a streamer junkie and like slower step by step instructions as i take tying streamers very passionately . Love your channel and i need Much Much More lol . Tight lines Brother .

Generally, whenever Im making big streamers, I try to stick with a 70-30 ratio for the back of the bug and either a 50-50 or a 60-40 ratio for the belly. My belly fibers are always cut shorter than the back, I think by about an inch or two. Keeping these ratios makes for a really good looking tapper to the fly.

Bertrand Tharreau The long fiber brush that I used in the video has a Congo hair core and a DNA frosty fish fiber wing with some starburst dub added for flash. I've used big fly fiber on other brushes, but it's easier and cheaper for me to use the fish fiber for the brushes. Just be aware, since the fish fiber has a slight texture to it, the fibers like to stick together when trying to lay them onto the brush. I'll make a video at some point in the future on how I make those brushes
