Dublin Airport arrivals without passports 

Any person arriving in Ireland without valid travel documents should be returned to the airport of origin at the expense of the carrier and not be allowed to enter the country.

Anybody arriving here without a means of us identifying them should never ever be allowed to be free amongst irish citizens. This is a huge safety concern.

Nothing to do with asylum, everything to do with money.

Anyone landing without a passport should be fingerprinted, sent back to country of origin and banned from going back to Ireland for life.

Imagine a young Irish guy travelling back from a holiday in Spain saying he'd lost his passport, the Garda would give him a lot of hassle

Well, you have to present a passport to get on a flight to Ireland, so the inability to produce said documentation on arrival in Ireland is indicative of an offence being carried out. Namely the deliberate hiding of identity from the authorities, presumably because those persons attempting to gain entry to Ireland have reasons back home that would make them not suitable. I wonder how many aircraft toilet systems have been bunged up by ripped up passports? To my mind, anyone arriving without the correct documentation (passport, Visa, etc) should be immediately returned from whence they came, no questions asked, even supposed asylum seekers. A genuine asylum seeker would not need to hide their identity.

so the lack of the passport they had to board the flight to Dublin and now its disappeared in arrivals is ignored. You could not make it up

Why not do what many other countries do and have police waiting at the exit of the plane to check passports. If they don't have it then they have to sit back down on the plane. It then becomes the airlines responsibility to return them from whence they came.

Fine the airlines and they will soon ensure their passengers are correctly documented before departure. No paperwork put them back on that airlines planes.

Obviously this is a national security risk. Most people such as myself would not even get into an airport departure lounge to travel let alone buy a ticket and get on a plane without a valid passport. But some unidentified visitors seem above the country's laws, such as able to drive without a drivers licence, insurance, rego etc, and also able to receive generous benefits without ID. Please explain!

They must have had a passport when they boarded the aircraft. So if they get to passport control and don’t have a valid passport, they should immediately be put back on an aircraft of the same carrier.

Anyone arriving without a passport should be detained simple as that and deported back to the country they arrived from NO EXCUSES DEPORTED STRAIGHT AWAY THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW STRAIGHT AWAY .

If I purchase an airline ticket, there is a record, including pp. When I check in there is a further recird, including seat number. There is a further check before I board tge plane1. If the plan1e crashes, they identify the missing / deceased. So di not tell me tgey cannot ge identufied

What a load of bs from that minister. Someone in government has told airport officials to just wave them through. The same happens here in the UK, they hang around after the plane has landed then go up to immigration, say they have lost their passport and claim asylum. What a racket they should be deported immediately. Government will say we don't know where they flew from because they won't tell us so we can't deport them. In that case lock them up until they do.

And what reason would there be - as the minister stated - for them to suddenly not have documents upon arrival? Could it be that they don’t have a valid claim? Thats grand so, that means they’re processing themselves for us. Anyone without documentation is sent straight back cause they clearly do not have a claim

You must show your passport and boarding card before boarding a plane. Scanning and recording this data and holding it for 24 hours would sort this out immediately. Best of luck getting Helen McEntee to do something about it. She's too busy banning conversion therapy courses that don't exist.

I couldn't check into my flight online while in Dublin. I had to go to the airport and get my eyeballs scanned before I could leave Ireland

Before one enters a boat or train or plane....all documents must be forwarded to revelant authority of the Irish state..in this day and age it can't that hard to do.....

Can someone ask why Ukrainian cars dont have to be Insured, taxed or Nct'd in ireland? who pays the bill if im rear ended by an unsafe, untaxed or Uninsured Ukrainian vehicle? Over 100,000 Ukrainians in Ireland it would be safe to estimate half have cars? How much is that costing in lost revenue? My Yankie stepdad who is married to my mother for nearly 20 years has terrible trouble returning to Ireland after they left for Australia. They were forced to get private health care and so on. Its all a joke.

My mate was not allowed get airside, by Aerlingus. Because he had a damaged passport. (Defaced) slight tear on side. She said he would be sent back from other country, so he can't travel. You don't need a passport to enter Ireland

If we insisted that anyone flying into Ireland or GB before departure their passport details must be emailed to the country of destination . Otherwise they will be refused entry and sent back. The Airline will be fined £100,000 for every failed passenger. You can process if Asylum claimed knowing their history criminal record and country of origin.

If someone lit up a smoke walking into the terminal just off a plane then refused to give their details when caught caught, you could guarantee the cctv would be produced checked immediately identifying the plane they just got off and the person then identified and dealt with straight away, But potential criminals are let just breeze through then giving social welfare and accommodation

Sadly, I can believe what I just watched but I shouldn’t believe what I just watched.

I understand a person may board a plan under very unusual circumstances without a passport, surely when this happen the Irish authorities check the flight itenary and cross check with the airline who has or has not boarded the plane with documents .
