This spring we saw an opening in the COVID pandemic and made our way to Ireland and Portugal. We went with Angela’s mother, Frances who hadn’t been to Europe prior to this trip. This video is the Bray Cliff walk. We start in Greystones where we grab a bit of lunch at The Happy Pear, and then complete the 7.2 kilometre walk along some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland with the Irish Sea always on our right. The weather is variable - we had sunshine, heat, rain, cool breezes and gusty winds followed by sunshine and heat. Repeat. At the end of the walk you come to Bray where we make a point of stopping at FinnBees café for a latte and some pastries. This is a great morning, or afternoon, from the hustle and bustle of Dublin. We use this walk the day after we land to shake out the cobwebs from the jet lag.
Total cost of this ½ day out for three people:
Dart commuter train: 21,60 Euro (return)
Lunch at the Happy Pear: around 40,00 Euro - you are well fed after this - and it is very healthy
Lattes and pastries at FinnBees in Bray: 20,00 Euro
Total cost for 3 people: 81,60 Euro or 27,20 Euro per person
You can make this a cheaper day by packing a lunch and a thermos of coffee or tea - then it would just cost you the train ticket (7,20 Euro per person return).
