@@mikecoulson9709 That part with the beer is like the old gag where a ventriloquist "proves" that his "dummy" can actually "talk" by drinking a glass of water while the dummy sings. Anyway, this is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen on RU-vid.
No idea why the algorithm recommended this but I'm glad it did: that was flippin fantastic! Ridiculous levels of musicianship and stunning talent, all live and in person.
I may be 14 years late to the party but you know what they say, "better late than never". Strange how the YT algorithms work... 😁 Thanks for sharing this, Bruno! 😊
I used to listen to these guys all the when I was a kid, got me into playing Irish music. And although I don't do it anymore, it's moments like these that make me miss the fun and goofiness of it all.
They're so perfectly in sync it's crazy, he has his finger on the feet as soon as he strums I will never understand how much practice this must have taken.
ah yes, i remember celebrating st. Patricks day at the Fitzpatrick pub in Downpatrick, with my old buddy Pat, shooting O'Patrick's till the early hours
@@Vingul ha ja, jeg flyttet fra Irland til Norge for ett år siden, og det er litt morsomt at nå forstår jeg det (selv om det er på svensk og ikke norsk)
with that you why they were such great performers , which very few could match even today ,now they have long gone ! It was a privilege and an honour to have seen them !.... They were Dublin ! ..the last of the dying breed !.
I'm guessing you've never downed a pint, then mate. That being said, downing a pint while fiddling the tin whistle that someone else is blowing into is quite the achievement.
One lunchtime, back in the '60's or maybe the '70's I was in a pub in Burnley called The Big Window - I think it's still there. The Dubliners in there and were sat around a little table having a beer. The had their instruments and they performed this trick. It was amazing. I can't imagine the skill it takes to strum (or pluck) the guitar whllst your rt. hand is on the neck of the violin. Amazing!
I've been in the music game for years, I've seen people play the violin upside down, backwards, behind their back, with somebody else using their bow, with somebody else doing the fingering, below their leg, propped up like a cello, upside down propped up like a cello, and every other way you can imagine and probably some ways you can't. But despite this having been on RU-vid for 14 years it's somehow slipped under the radar, and now I feel I need to make up 14 years worth of time that I hadn't known this existed.
Reminds me of a duet I saw here on RU-vid for four-handed Classical Guitar where one performer reached around the others arms to add their fingers to the instrument! Simply incredible seeing it across two- three- *different* instruments though! I suspect that this being unison playing helps, since the violinist and banjo player need only memorize different fingerings to the same bowing/picking they would normally do! And of course for the whistle all they have to do is blow and let the other guy do all the work 😂😂😂 What would make this REALLY crazy is if we got the one guy bowing the fiddle, fingering the banjo, and blowing into the whistle to hum the melody as well, since you can of course sing into wind instruments. And then get the other fella doing something with his feet, maybe hi-hat. After all, they still have free limbs!! 😂

@@namesake-mx9nl Oh yeah, the meaning of your comment was clear, I meant what I said light hearted too, but I see now that it could come across as just blunt fact. An emoji was needed perhaps!
