Great video! Really helpful comments regarding suspension. Have had mine set to the more aggressive off-road setting and it’s exactly as you described… a bit too jittery. Gonna switch to the standard setup. Thanks!

Hey mate some great info and footage there well done! But you bummed me out a bit, I've been pissed-off with my 937 finding false neutrals 2-3 & 4-5 for the last 7yrs, and (until just now) I was looking forward to trading it in for a DesertX.... and leave that annoyance behind me :(

I haven’t had a single false neutral in 7,000 miles of riding my DesertX.

@@gpzfan5272 Hey mate, great to hear you're enjoying your trouble free DDX gearbox. And I can concur, so far I've covered ~6,000Klm of bliss on my DesX as well :) That 2016 937 was pretty crude looking back at it now, and with exact same HP as today's version it was waaay underpowered for that Motard chassis. But in this DDX I just fkn love this masterpiece machine and I never want to part with it - seeya

Cheers Wayne. I see some owners are getting suspension mods when the bike is new

Everyone is different I guess, but I found that setting had a pretty good feel in the front end which is what I was chasing. Maybe if you are someone who loads it up to the gills with luggage it might need some more work, but then you're probably going to be going a bit steadier in that case... so I'm not convinced it needs much. If I'd thrown some more aggressive rubber on I could have gone for slightly harder settings to avoid bottoming out, and a set of bark busters would add a bit of weight to the steering to stop its flightiness when stiffened right up. You could also play with oil weight and fork position in the triple clamp if you were still struggling before you'd be looking at serious mods I'd have thought.

@@Vicko026 I guess it's a compromise where you try to find something that works well enough in all environments. My favourite are the riders who want a better steering damper but haven't touched the suspension 🤣
