Here's my first ride on the 2015 Ducati Scrambler Icon. I share my first impressions of the Scrambler and review the best things on the bike that I first noticed.
I have some light modifications on this Scrambler and the exhaust sound is stock. I divided the recording of this ride into two pros and cons videos, so stay tuned for the more "critical" one coming soon.
Let me know in the comments what you think of the Ducati Scrambler! If you're interested in the types of bikes I've reviewed, please like & subscribe for more content. I'm always looking for bikes to review so leave a comment and I'll try my best to respond.
Thanks for watching and ride safe!

How does it affect being air cooled? Do you notice it a lot? Does it overheat? How is the maintenance in general? The dome is simply aesthetic or does it fulfill its function? Sorry for so many questions, I really love this bike and I want to know more about it.

No worries, I'm here to try and help buyers! Being air cooled the bike will cool down when you're moving at speed, in stop and go traffic it can really start to get hot (borderline overheat). Maintenance isn't too bad but prices are going to come at a premium vs Japanese bikes. By dome do you mean windshield? If so, it's mostly for looks but it does deflect a decent amount of wind as opposed to not having anything there :) Let me know if you have more questions or video requests and I'll try my best to help. Ride safe✌️

@@RideYEG I just bought a 2016 with 4k miles for 8k, not worried in the price. Its whatever. I thought it was good. But how do I turn on the brights? Could not figure it out. Just kept hitting buttons till they stayed on

Thanks for the review! It’s difficult finding riders who are around my height haha I appreciate you saying how it is to sit on the bike as well!

Glad you inserted a few sound clips from the gopro of the gruntiness that Ducati makes. Initially I really thought I wanted one of these as a first bike but decided a bike like this would be a better 2nd bike than 1st for me. May have to test ride one someday. May have to test a Triumph Trident too. And Indian Scout Sixty...and the new Moto Guzzi V7. Yeah, especially that.
@RideYEG

It’s an incredible time to be on 2 wheels considering the options that are out there for us riders hey? The Trident looks like an amazing bike that I really want to try as well. After owning this Ducati I think the Triumph Scrambler is next on my list.
@dustytriumph

@@RideYEG That Trident seems to get fantastic reviews all around. Love the sound of Triumph's triples. The dealer where I got my Rebel carries Triumph. When I bring the Rebel in for service someday I may have to test and/or rent one they have for that purpose. Really want to check out an Indian Scout Sixty but dealers are all a long way off. That could be a PITA for service etc........

I came from a crf250l. Love this bike will you make a video of shifting. I've learned to come off the throttle entirely when shifting then bring it back. I need a second opinion from someone who has had this bike longer than me. Please and thank you
@RideYEG
@RideYEG 2 года назад
Thanks for watching. Specifically what regarding shifting were you looking for help on? I can try to factor that into a future video. I tend to roll off the throttle as well for really smooth shifts.

Front brake is adjustable if you look on the base of the lever.
@RideYEG
@RideYEG 3 года назад
It's it? I was only able to adjust the clutch lever is it in the same spot? What year is yours?
@ericwilliams626
@ericwilliams626 3 года назад
@@RideYEG Yeah, my mistake, the clutch is adjustable at the base. Now hydraulic which was a pet peeve with earlier riders without it. They also fixed the first gear throttle twitch I guess.

Nice man! I've only got a couple Scrambler vids but will have more to come. Where are you tuning in from?
@UnwiseWings0973

I'm from Manchester, UK. Still looking into getting the license and everything and not really done too much research. I love Ducati and originally wanted the new Monster 821, but after seeing the Scrambler 800 I just think it looks a lot more fun and nimble!
@RideYEG
@RideYEG 3 года назад
@@UnwiseWings0973 Definitely, having the option to do some light offroad is nice. In UK do you have to start with a sub 500 cc bike first?
@UnwiseWings0973
@UnwiseWings0973 3 года назад
You can choose depending on your age but to get an "A" license which allows you to ride any bike of any power, you need to either be at least 24 years old or have had your "A2" which is a step below the "A" for at least two years and upgrade it to the "A" with an additional test, of course. Either way I'm 24 now so I can go for the full license, which is funny because I really didn't plan it like that. I just coincidentally got interested in getting a bike just as I turned the right age!
@RideYEG
@RideYEG 3 года назад
@@UnwiseWings0973 Thanks for clearing that up! Here in Canada it's crazy to me that any aged learner can go out a buy any bike (including 1000+ cc). But similar to you I didn't start riding until I was mid 20s. Ride safe ✌️

Hi! You think this would be a fair beginner bike? Asking as one who had a 125 dirt bike before for 6 months. Thanks
@RideYEG
@RideYEG 2 года назад
Depends. If you’re disciplined and have a soft throttle to start then it’s doable. Wouldn’t highly recommend it though!

My dealer can't find me a red one. He's not stalking them very well so I'm going to get the Icon Dark.

@@RideYEG I was thinking of the Sled but to start this is fine. I'm getting a dual sport for true dirt. I just want an easy road ride, low and dirt trails for this bike. Having a friend customize the tank inserts since its all black and only silver on the inserts. I have one image of someone who did the inserts in medium dark caramel metallic with DUCATI in black over it. Looks cool. I prefer the bright colors, wanted red, but this is fine and a few bucks cheaper. But I didn't want the height and weight of the sled just yet.

@ericwilliams626

@@RideYEG I sat on the 250 Rally and didn't like the Dakar steering. Too bulky. I'm getting the 300L. Deposit down if that means anything.
