"Where did their real parents go?" *Somewhere at Disney Studios someone decided to slack off from work to watch this review.* "Hey Boss, I got an idea for the reboot."
There was a few part episodes here and there, but yeah mostly one offs each time. The one they time travel and the other with Klang (voiced by Tim Curry) were more than one episode.
it's actually how the mickey mouse and donald duck comics are structured! in europe, before amd even after the show aired, disney pubblished them but the stories are written by italian writers read up the rest of the story is actually really interesting. .. And its still going!
Actually, in seasons 1, the 5 first episodes, Temple of the Golden Suns, is the first story arc of the show, then in season 2 they had two other arcs: Super DuckTales, which introduced Fenton/Gizmo Duck, and the other was Time is Money, introducing Bubba the Cave Duck. Bubba and Fenton were both featured as reccurent characters in Season 3 and 4 after they're arcs. The rest of the show was just a new adventure without ties, like you said
The red, green, blue color combo for sets of three is actually super common! After all, they're the three colors of light that combine to make other colors (e.g. the three colors used in your TV/computer to bring you all these wacky toons). You can see the red/green/blue combo in a LOT of visual entertainment, especially for kids. (The red/green/blue/yellow combo is also fairly common; they're very kid-oriented for some reason, not sure why.)
Alvin and the Chipmunks, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, The Powerpuff Girls, Numbuhs 1, 2, and 3 of Codename: Kids Next Door (mildly cherry picking, but I think it's significant that those are the first three), the goddesses in Zelda are represented by red, green, and blue. LCD and CRT screens do use red, green, and blue pixels to blend and create colors, as Arizona pointed out.
A magical part of my childhood. Scrooge always has been and always will be my favorite Disney character. Alan Young was born to play that character. The first two seasons were classics with beautiful animation.
They're rebooting the series. From what it looks like it's kind of a Gravity falls esque show but with a comic book art style. Webby will be there but her voice isn't annoying.
Great thing about there not being pop culture and references to popular things at the time, makes shows like these all the more timeless. I could watch ducktales today and find it just as enjoyable as I did back in the 80s
The theme song for Ducktales is oddly similar to the Footloose song. I thought I was going crazy so I googled it and I'm apparently not the only one who thinks so
The change I liked from from the original to to remake is the remake explains what happened to the triplets parents. It even had the mother in a few episodes. At 12:45; was that a picture of Scrooge McDuck next to the father of Donald's nephews?
Barks' and Rosa's comics already did that and much better. I really dislike any other (modern) version of these characters. Duckverse is set in the `50's, FFS.
This shows brings back so many good childhood memories. Me and brothers used to always watch it. And I can say with 100% certainty that this version is a million times better than the reboot that is out!!!!
DuckTales - 10/10 DuckTales reboot - 10/10 Please do a review on DuckTales reboot. Disney did a good job on it. David Tennant now voices Scrooge McDuck, new voice actors voices Hewy, Dewey and Louie and Webby
you still can, im a trump supporter..i dont care as long its funny.....its just irritating that people are just poking fun at stuff everyone knows is false about him........plus, theyre making he same jokes over and over again. "oooh trumps a racist" or "trump rallies are so toxic" , or "look at this footage we clearly edited to shit to make conservatives and centrists look stupid, dont they look stupid?!". its getting old....watch the daily show and you'll see what i mean...
I liked Webby and the nephews best as a kid...but I wonder if it's because I was like six when the show started (kid) and a girl. lol That aside, it was fun to watch this review again.
Tokkafan4life :: Channel Awesome isn't owned by Disney; Maker Studios (and its subsidiaries, which included the now-deceased Blip) was bought out by Disney a few years back. Until recently CA, and moreover Doug Walker, had a contract in place where Nostalgia Critic content would be hosted on Maker.tv earlier than on RU-vid or even CA's own website. When that contract expired, they stopped posting there early and eventually stopped posting there altogether before Disney shut Maker.TV down and moved Maker Studios into their newly developed Digital Network. That's why there were a number of episodes hosted on Maker's sites for a while.

@@ARCtheCartoonMaster nothing, its just less interesting, besides the whole "strong and kickass yet hyperactive and geeky" thing is part of her charm in the reboot, and most people clearly liked it
@@ARCtheCartoonMaster i see where you are coming from, there is nothing wrong with girls acting like that, but it does make her less interesting for most people, its a reboot and the writers saw an opportunity to improve an aspect of the original, and it worked, so many people like the new version better, maybe you are not part of that vast majority but they ARE the vast majority
@@caderen5624 Just because the masses are fine with it doesn't mean it's a good thing. I agree with ARC but to each their own. Webby in the reboot comes off as far too Mary Sue-ish for my tastes. She knows a lot of things and she's a competent fighter. Why does she need all of these qualities?
@@skydawn4103 its your opinion and you have every right to have them, but i disagree on her being a "mary sue", she is capable of fighting and has alot of knowledge when it comes to duck lore, but she still has flaws like all the other characters, she wasnt perfect, she didnt know much about the world outside the manor, she had terrible social skills and for all her knowledge she was still naive, but she grew and developed like the other characters, and again the vast majority are still the vast majority, you dont need to be a part of them or agree with them but they are still the vast majority and if the show hadnt focused on what people liked, it whouldnt be as loved by many
One change made from the original '87 cartoon to the 2017 reboot that I really liked was how they managed to give Huey, Dewey, Louie and even Webby their own unique personalities. Louie doesn't want to do anything unless it involves him making a lot of money out of it, Webby is bit of a thrill seeker, Dewey is a goofball, and Huey is the responsible one. I also liked how Mrs. Beakley's backstory in which she and Scrooge were actually undercover agents at some point in their lives. It's really cool.
@@ARCtheCartoonMaster Because Webby IS more than just strong and kickass. She can be funny, she can be vulnerable, she can be socially anxious, she can be excitable, she can be obsessive, she can be girly. Reboot Webby is many things.
One of the best things they did in season 2 of the reboot was to completely lampoon gold fever as a scheme made up by the insanely inept insane flintheart glomgold, which couldnt possibly be real
1:50 I always use to wonder, why didn't Disney promote the other Military Service Branches. Why ONLY one of their characters was in the Navy.l? And then I saw a lot of old classics. And in The Golden Age of Hollywood, a lot of the characters are in a Navy Service Uniform. So I think it's just a throw back. Like: There's No Business Like Show Business (1954)
Goofy is the only Disney original cartoon character from the 30s who actually had his own kid, meaning that he is canonically the only one who got laid. And his wife cheated on him with the milkman.
When I was 5 years old I was convinced that's how tuning forks worked and wanted one SO BAD. My grandfather had one and let me play with it and I thought it was broken.
This actually just made me a little emotional, because I loved this show when I was a kid and I haven't seen it like since then. It's as nostalgic for me as it is ultimately catchy. You're right, I probably won't get this out of my head anytime soon! ;D Anyway, this isn't going away like Rebecca Black's Friday; one it's awesome, and two it's already like over twenty years old or something.
talk about a meta event for sure! although some jokes have aged a lot, the good ones still shine through and are very well done and clever! definitely a good classic video. Ducktales is special to many many fans myself included and I can tell you worked hard to capture and celebrate that magic!
I have fond memories of this series and always used to love Launchpad. I was disappointed as a kid when they eventually phased him out when they introduced Bubba and Fenton Crackshell/Gizmoduck. I did hear though that they had his character crossover to Darkwing Duck where he became the title characters sidekick.
This is one of my favorite classic NC reviews as most of the jokes and references hit bulls eyes for me. My two favorites are "I also embezzled Mickey Mouse out of a house and home but that's another story", and the other moment is El Capitan ordering a pizza with a gold card.
So what are you guy's thoughts on the reboot as far of what we seen? My opinion, I'm cautiously optimistic about it because there's some good voice actors and is written by some guys who did Gravity Falls. My biggest grips with the reboot is the look; it's blocky and has that Adventure Time-esque animation that we see in almost every modern cartoons. And the voices will take time to get used to.
Great review NC! Odd enough, I've never seen these episodes of Duck Tales. The only one I can remember was about a castle and giving some dogs some hotdogs
How did Mr Magee (as Launchpad would call him) get the tools needed to safely melt gold AND to cool it off??I mean, large amounts of gold take time to cool off to handle safely, what with the rising incoming Tide and all coming soon, they should have perished there!
I always find it kinda sad when the Nostalgia Critic does a new segment, only to discontinue it. Raiders of the Story Arc, What you Never Knew, WTR, (Was That Real,) and a few others.
I'll be honest, the nephews sound and act the same. At least, in Quack Pack, though having the same problem, they at least make Huey (red) try to be the ladies' man, Huey (blue) the computer geek, and Louie (green) the Voice of Reason. Finally, the 2017 reboot gives them voices that I can tell apart!
