Been a fan of you guys content for a while now and still really enjoy it on occasion i go back and watch the older videos....also loving the game i have the PS5 edition so excited to see the updates coming!! Much Love!!!! 😊
I was listening to the 6th podcast on the HBO series and Mazin said right in the beginning that five days before they did the podcast there was a nuclear incident in the north of Russia. A nuclear powered rocket exploded and it was just like the bureaucratic coverup with Chernobyl including not telling the people in the surrounding areas. Nothing has changed.
Yeah, RU-vid is kinda strict sometimes - even for us, creators. Sometimes the videos have like 500 views even though we spent days on research and making it.
@@Chernobylite It happened on August 8th at a military testing site in the north. It was a nuclear powered cruise missile and the radiation was detected in Minsk. the 6th episode is a bonus one in that podcast. So I'm thinking it might have been 2019 when the series was made. Not sure.
I thought it was the Duga radar in Komsomolsk-na-Amure that was shut down in 1989, and that the one near Chernobyl was evacuated in 1986. But was the one near Chernobyl still in operation, even after the military city (Chernobyl 2) was evacutaed in 1986? (I find different information when searching on Google, but no good answer)
Only 71 views. Such a darn shame for all that work. YT really is the worst sometimes. And the Duga was the bane of my existence in my younger radio-listening years. In the 80s, all our music stations were on the AM band. When Duga was active, all we got was the weird knocking sound it made. Of course, we didn't know what it was at the time, but we all knew the sound. They had to move all music stations to the FM band because of it.
Well, believe me, I've done RU-vid for years - micro, medium and huge channels. And there are some similarities, but most often you could simplify it to this: the more popular content tou get, the harder it gets. It's quite logical - your channel is "assessed" by maaaaany algorithms. If your watchtime, thumbnail successfulness, etc goes up - you have to keep it this way. IMO not fair, but still - logical. So we recently had a HUGE peak (for us, at least), like 5x what we usually get. And our "bar" has risen, so all it takes for a video to underperform is NOT to be worse, but just less successful. Basically "hey, your Y video was great, why is X & Z not like it?" And that's happening right now. Not very content creator friendly, but these are just the Excel agorithm. Push you all the time to make longer, more "clicky", inclusive. We won't stop because of that, but you're right - it's not very motivating and that's why a lot of creators burn out quickly. That literally happened to me with my personal channel a while ago :-) ~Andrzej TF51
@@Chernobylite I still say it isn't fair-.- And don't get me started on the dratted algorithms. Trying to write a comment, any comment, with ordinary words is a chore at this point. Anything the algorithm deems out of order, and your comment gets eaten. This week I had written a very comprehensive answer to someone. No cussy words, nothing nasty. Just very technical, and reactor-y words. Aaaand it got eaten. Apparently, reactor parts are considered lewd these days. Who would have known🙄
