When Luke says "You just couldn't resist could ya" Its almost like the Director is talking to himself... Of course no one could resist to try and squeeze in this type of scene in. I'm so glad Schneider enjoyed his Dukes role so much that he agreed to this.

Whoever was responsible for this scene and the idea of having Tom Wopat cast is genius. I'm guessing John Schneider had a lot (if not everything) to do with it. JUST AWESOME!
For those of you who may not know this. They also did a christmas movie where they were brothers. Christmas comes to Willow creek. Best christmas movie ever.
Only reason i'm here is cause i'm a dukes fan, and I couldn't help but laugh because it was cool how they incorporated dukes stuff into this show without coming straight out and saying "just like on dukes"
That was the beauty of it. For me anyway. One of those many nostalgic moments where I geeked out. I was so into this episode. Especially when the side across the hood happened. I was done lol 😂
I loved Dukes of Hazzard as a kid, then started watching Smallville because of John Schenider. I fell in love with Smallville. This was a great one!!! This was also before John left Smallville.
Brings me back to my childhood. Friday nights watching this with my grandma right after the Hulk. Dallas came on I was knocked out fast asleep. Good times!

John Schneider was on the show Smallville playing the part of Clark Kent's father, Johnathon Kent. Tom Wopat was a guest start on this episode. John was great on that show! We hated it when his character died.

Two iconic series one that gave us the general Lee and the other was the teen Superman with these two shows there's alot of great moments but having the Dukes back on screen even though it wasn't it was great seeing this in a moment in time brings that of well

They did a couple Dukes of Hazzard TV movies after the series went off air. And I'm not talking about the movies with Sean William Scott, Johnny Knoxville, Randy Wayne, or Johnathan Bennett. One actually was called Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion and the other one was Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood.
@RoadWarrior77 That's my point with the reunion that never quite happened the actors had other commitments when those for TV movies where made the only time the 2 actually got together again it's in unofficial "Dukes Of Hazzard" Smallville episode.
Who cares about the car?? Dukes of Hazzard came out in 1977and these guys were my heroes!! Right after this show was the incredible hulk, played by Lou Ferrigno. All 3 of these men are my heroes today and I'm 52.

Yep! They did an awesome job on that episode giving not just a nod, but a string, ongoing salute to my favorite TV show of the 80s and 90s. It was almost like watching the show again. It got me back into watching the original series on fire stick and now my kids love it too.
I watched smallville like I did dukes of hazzard. First time I saw this scene I was like I KNEW IT! Jonathan Kent is Bo Duke in hiding from Boss Hogg 😂

What would have been better is for Tom Wopat to slide across the hood of the car before climbing in the window of the car. It was, however classic that John looked at Tom, & Tom said what he said about the car door being stuck since he bought it. John also said that Tom had a habit of leaving the keys in the car. Fun Fact, backed up by both John and Tom. That blue charger is actually a General Lee '69 charger. The studio bought it and painted it blue for the show. They went with the color blue b/c is compliments orange. But mostly b/c a orange charger would have been too on the nose for the show.

They had used different years of chargers on Dukes of Hazzard. It's a fact I was watching Dukes of Hazzard on CMT 3 or 4 years ago and things would pop up saying different facts. They used 68's and just changed the tail lights and different things to make it look exactly like a 69. They used a couple different years of chargers and changed things to make it correct.
Just like the good Old Days this goes to show everyone that John and Tom Still got it haven't lost there touch specially John who can still handle the wheel just as good as he did on the Dukes what am I saying we're looking at the dukes just in a whole different way, but still they still got it!

Last I heard, Tom refuses because of the deceased cast members. He said it's not right to do it without them, and to recast their characters would ruin the chemistry they all had.
Anyways it's a nice piece of my child hood back in this one episode of small ville either a 68 in which that charger was the general lee is suppose to be a '69 or a modified '70 but as long as it's a 2nd generation designed by William brownlie I don't care cause I love them all!!!
heres a history lesson to all the REALLLLLLL Dukes of Hazzard fans out there. Gy Waldron and company originally wanted a 69 camaro chosen for The General Lee. Soon, the producers came back saying it was too small and not heavy in the rear for the physics to properly take shape with the jumps and get the car airborn as originally requested. Well then, there you are. The producers and Waldron were in a pickle to make a quick decision, and a 69 Dodge Charger was spotted along the roadways of Los Angeles County California where the driver, who was driving what is now known as Lee One, was offered X amount of dollars for the car. The original General wasnt chosen out of a board room full of producers and execs but rather by a small drive around The City of Los Angeles. This is a genuine story, and for those who dont believe me, look it up for yourself, or go talk to Paul Baxley, Gy Waldron or even Jerry Rushing himself. Cory Eubanks probably even knows if ya can locate him and ask the man.
They also have it in the season 1 DVD set. That they didn't like the camaro, or stang because they couldn't take the jumps, and overall thought the Charger looked more impressive and more like the dukes

I was at the very one in season 1 of the special features. Im well aware of the discussion youre speaking of, but it was also this very event that Cory Eubanks and Jerry Rushing both delivered to me, personally, a very similar story of which i mentioned. In addition, and aside from this debate, Ben Jones has told me 309 cars were wrecked, but then u hear 300 even or 310 or so, so im not sure if anyone truly knows, but it seems to be around 300.
Owning all seasons has nothing to do with the discussion, I also have a replica of lee one, down to the chromed rockers and the corvette flame red 1975 variant, heck even the cobra RadioShack CB radio, but there are to many story's so I'll stick with johns, also good that you've been to 6 dukes fests I've seen them including the hazzard reunions and the northeast Ohio ones, now if you wanna talk dukes let's talk dukes, did you know the general Lee was almost gray? I remember looking ahead to see what this episode had coming and as soon as I saw Tom wapat was guesting this episode, all I could think of was, "he better not be driving that car" but sure enough he comes tearing onto the farm and the whole time I'm going "oh shit"
I was dreading what I thought "they better not do". "They better not just bring those two together with no real reference to the dukes... They better not waste this opportunity with no wild driving, no hood slide, no door climbing, no curve straightening, no hill flattening...." But they did it right! After it was rolling I was thinking, Man, the kids seeing this today will think their dad's have lost their minds when suddenly they start laughing, shouting, and pointing at the screen going "YEEEEEHAH!!"

Vito Guttilla Actually the a team van’s wheels weren’t vectors but were turbines!You can tell by the number of spokes! The Vector rim had 10 spokes whereas the turbines had 12-13!
I've never seen smallville so I didnt know what was going on....had a good laugh ...truly enjoyed that I thought it was a Duke movie I missed somewhere
