i still play it from time to time. and duke 3d 20th aniversary. anyone with half a functioning brain knew DNF wont be as good as we wanted it to be. not after the development hell it went trough. it was a miracle we got a game at all. i was just happy to see The King back in action.

You're flat wrong. In Duke3D you did not EVER have to hide whilst fighting. Same for Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein 3D, etc. You had to dodge projectiles and ocassionally double back, but you were always on the offensive, and never had to literally go hide behind a wall to wait for your health to come back. You pushed forward. You had to explore. You had to think to stay alive.
That right there is the true FPS format. I can't list a single 90s FPS game where you would need to outright hide from enemies. Maybe dip behind a wall or corner after every attack to pick off the hassle enemies when you're low on health. But fights were something to look forward to, especially now in neo-90s FPS or sequels (Doom Eternal and Ultrakill specifically) where you need to kill to survive.
Actually, the original version of Grabbag was written by Lee Jackson. Megadeth just made a cover of it. But their version is indeed very good. Shame it doesn't include of the notes.
I loved DNF and BFE and I don't care what anyone says, the Duke Nukem series is great for a laugh and enjoyable. I still remember when I went to a friends to play Halo and i turned to him about midway through the first level "Where can i find Armour Shards?" and he just gave me the biggest "WTF" look of all time... I still can't really get used to shielding replacing armour pickups...
Ways of fixing Forever's problems: 1. Improve the script to be funnier and more clever 2. Improve Duke's control to be faster and more fluid( in terms of duke's speed and precision) 3. Give the Guns more impact 4. Improve the animations 5. Remove the weapon limit 6. Make the levels less linear 7.ADD THE FUCKING JETPACK!!!!
***** It's better than COD, where if you stand out in the open for more than two seconds you get killed. Here, it allows you to get stronger, be a little bolder, which fits with Duke's tone. I prefer regular health systems, but they at least implemented the Ego meter with a sense of intelligence instead of just slapping a health regen into the game.
plus all the problems that came with it. But you know, you can still just play the older games. Plus I still enjoyed forever. I went into the game knowing what it went through, so I wasn't as disappointed.
@TheRealAxelFury You're right, it's unrealistic to carry 2 two-handed weapons on you at the same time. Can I ask you a question though. Is DNF any good? I've been getting mixed results all throughout youtube.
