Dukes Pass, Loch Katrine and Aberfoyle

In this video/cycle I start at Aberfoyle and cycle up and over Dukes pass down towards Ben Venue and Ben A'an. From here I head to and explore Trossachs pier before heading around Loch Katrine. They filmed some scenes for Outlander here and you can see why as the scenery is breathtaking. The weather is a typical Scottish mixed bag of Sunshine, wind and rain. The cycle around the Loch takes me to Stronachlacher Pier cafe where i stopped for a coffee and cake. After that i head down towards Aberfoyle completing the loop.

Nice upload...Dukes pass is a bit of a beast... especially the first part you get over that first hill and it levels a wee bit then it hits again🥵

I did this tour the opposite direction (the clockwise direction) in 2010, but with a start and stop in Paisley. A sunny 100 miles long ride with the return over Milngavie and then the last Renfrew Ferry of the night as an alternative to the Clyde tunnel or Erskine Bridge. Fantastic tour around Loch Katerine, as shown in this video, and one for your bucket list. Great video and I will include this on my alltime favourite list.

Great video mate! I've done Dukes Pass a few times and it's a chore on the way up. Nothing for it but big cog and grind it out! A coffee and cake at Liz MacGregor's cafe first defo helps! 🍰☕

Brilliant, you've nailed it. Aerial shots and music at the beginning were so good that you just wanted more. Rainbow over the lock now where would you get that, bloody spectacular. The scenery was to die for, and there is no doubt that you are inspiring folk to get on their bikes. Tourism Scotland should take note!! Keep her Lit

I was hoping you would do this one. Many thanks. I was at Glasgow Uni 1980-1985 and practically lived on a bike. Any spare time I had I was away up Queen's view, Duke's Pass Brig O'Turk and back home racing down The Crow Road. I'm delighted to see all these new cycle trails you show on your films. I really must take a bike with me next time I come up to Glasgow.

Another one of my favourite routes only to be surpassed by the gravel version! Don’t you dare do the three lochs in a car hire yourself a gravel bike and do it you’ll love it🚴🏻‍♀️ What do you think of the 360? I didn’t fancy it.

I quite like the 360 but I’m not overly impressed with the footage that I get from it. It’s good to get a different type of shot but I would be happy to make a full video with only the GoPro.

Yes I see a lot of folk who use them having sone quite distorted footage. I think the editing would be hard work as I see folk who use them now making shorter videos. I’m told they can be pretty fragile if they go flying.

@@SwampyDuckRidesAgain3636 you wouldn’t believe the amount of close calls I’ve had with that camera. One scratch on the lens and it’s done.

@@glasgowcycles yes I know a lass that had hers a week and the lens got scratched. At least my Osmo Action has survived several dunts.
