While indeed there are biologist who agree on the idea that parrots might be animals, there are also many who, upon analysis of the current body of evidence, find that there is a possibility that parrots do not fit into the definitions of what might be an animal. It is still under discussion among them whether a parrot might be a vegetable or a mineral, or whether it may truly be an animal. Further research is still required.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio - yeah. I’m pretty sure the judge just said “we don’t need to bring in evidence/expert testimony to establish that parrots are animals.” From my limited legalese.
"The court reporter indicated that I was going a little too fast and asked me to reread my argument. So I'll start from the beginning, if I may." Absolute power move.
Actually that shares more connections with Blackquill then Phoenix because the only crime Phoenix could've been charged with would be a misdemeanor and probably would be overlooked due to the fact the person died because of something slightly unrelated
5:46: This one actually sounds like a player's attempt at finding a contradiction in a witness's testimony. Except over something so semantic that I can't imagine how it would be plot-relevant.
It seems pretty clear how it could be relevant, since it is possible that a gang member is the suspect but the murder was not otherwise connected to the gang in any way.
I mean, from what I can tell that's basically what real lawyers are supposed to do when they find a contradiction, because if you just tell the witness they're wrong they'll probably get defensive. You're meant to lead them to the conclusion of "huh, I guess I am/might be wrong."
I think the only way this was a worthwhile tangent is that the defense is making the argument that the suspect committed an act of violence for the benefit of their gang and the gang brainwashed or coerced them, but the prosecution is trying to prove that the crime is not related to the gang. Or maybe the lawyer just wanted to prove a point even if it was completely irrelevant lol
> Or maybe the lawyer just wanted to prove a point even if it was completely irrelevant lol Probably shouldn't throw stones. I've never done something like that _in a court of law,_ but...
"Ladies and gentlemen, we will now take probably eighteen of you and have you killed at random and seated in this jury box." God I'd like to know the context for that.
I have no idea what the IRL context is but I’m assuming the lawyer was trying to demonstrate the inhumanity of the defendant’s (who I assume was a serial killer who killed 18 people at random) actions That’s honestly the only context I can think of
I feel that the more I read these up, the more I believe the notion that all of Ace Attorney's cases have actually happened in real life and the games are supposed to make them look more reasonable.
@@robertlupa8273 Well considering how many lawyers argue that autopsies can be done on living people seem to imply the dead bodies have just been getting up and going about their day
"Reality is often more bizarre than fiction. That's because for fiction to make be credible, it must make sense." ―IDK, some guy on a writing forum probably quoting some author
@@RubenDuenas1 Since it's a visual novel with a very... "liberal" localization of the source material, mixed with magical elements needed to make the gameplay a bit more interesting than just interacting with witnesses and defendants, there is a non trivial amount of the quotes and moments that are really out there. At their core though Ace Attorney games are really fun stories. Some are way deeper and emotionally engaging than others, but they're overall alright.
Unfortunately, his leverage his fabricated, for if you look closely, you'll see that the gun is aiming past klavier in the foreground. He has no intention of shooting klavier.
Everytime, i tell myself "This is gonna be the last episode, he wont be able to find enough dumb stuff to make another episode" Everytime, i was wrong. And actually glad I was
Athena: “ What happens if you don’t tell the truth?” Edgeworth: If you don’t tell the truth, I believe you pretty much go to hell, that’s what!” I mean he’s not wrong
Assuming the parrot one is real I think I understand the logic. He was trying to argue that a parrot can testify in court because its not an animal. Stupid but lawyers often act stupid if it can help their case
5:47 that actually wasn't the worst cross-examination I've ever heard. The lawyer set out to disprove a statement made by the witness and succeeded, which may help them later down the line.
8:29 the question was what condition was the body was in. Just because someone is dead doesn’t mean anything to that question he wanted to know how intact the body was. Like imagine this “what condition was the body in” “well he was attacked and killed in a vicious manner so it was not in good condition as the corpse had slashed all over it and had a missing limb” see? The question wasn’t stupid he just wanted to know the condition of the body which could be relevant to the case
Dammit Edgeworth why did you have to scare little Athena? I know it is because you are a prosecutor, but could you show a little restraint next time there is a child witness.
Yeah it has been awhile since I played the first game. I honestly forgot his last name was Hackins and not Hawkins. Phoenix really did show some restraint as opposed to Edgeworth.
People say Ace Attorney is not realistic ... Well if these are real life quotes on a game background ... I'd say the game an accurate depiction of reality Also , I'm a subscriber now , and not for Klavier , but for the content , I love it . If you want to threaten the viewers , though ... You might want to choose a more loved character , and bonus points for those that get kidnapped and framed often , like Maya and Trucy

@kokoapadoa You have to disassemble the computer first before using compressed air on the fan. Overheating is a problem on computers and it would help prevent a future issue so long as you manage to disassemble your laptop properly.
Forgot to add this make sure that your computer has cooled down a little bit after turning it off and use gloves if possible when handling computer parts. The oils on hands and dirt may go on other computer parts during disassembly.
The hallucinating rhinoceri thing sounds like exactly the type of convoluted point the defense lawyers would need to try to make for some reason. The snarky comment from the judge completes it
Please don't judge me but I love hotdogs with mayonnaise And cheese Also the lawyer *is* technically right in the Paul Potter case, if worded wrong and drawn out way too long and including non relevant information
Mayonnaise on hot dog? What is this heresy?? Headbutt the *"Exterminatus"* button please. I see the defence and prosecution are jamming together I need one hour version of Wright and Edgey jamming together, please xD
@@sylvercritter They're right, though! If you wait for a dedicated post, everyone can see it from a mile away. Meanwhile, a random argument like this is much more likely to end up as the proverbial diamond in the rough!
7:19 I don't know the context of what's going on, but good on that lawyer😳😳That argument def seems like something that would help win the case in Ace Attorney (but I've only watched the anime so I wouldn't know)
There is no way an attorney and a prosecutor in an actual court of law started singing Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. However, this video is golden!
