Dumbledore Versus Gandalf 

Maybe do some more research on Gandalf because dumbledore died to a flipping teacher and stays dead while Gandalf dies to a fire demon and comes back as an angel so everyone basically knows the winner which Gandalf

I like Gandalf the wizard for me.

Dumbledore is the better character though due to his flaws.

It's clear that Mojo wanted to make Dumbledore the winner this time, so they came up with a ridiculous category to compare them, to make sure Gandalf loses. They made Gandalf's fault that the Hobbit movies aren't as great, which is unfair. Bit hey, it doesn't matter what Mojo says. Everyone knows that Gandalf is the greatest.

I'm not sure why they compared movie scores, because Return of the King and the rest of the trilogy are certified classics, so shouldn't that have given him the edge?

Gandalf uses his staff single handedly like a wand 😂 with a long sword in his off hand. Gandalf a strong old man.

Not an Archangel that whould count as the Valar, cokpared to Iluvatar as God but one of the Angels yes and way beyond Albus paycheck for sure.

Unfortunately he didn't win, Gandalf is a better character but they just wanted to give this round to Dumbledore😒

İndeed 😅. If we are counting movie feats, then when Gandalf died, he came back more powerful and in no ways whatsoever diminished. If the movie rules are applied, when dumbledore dies, he stays dead, or if he comes back within the rules of his movies(which he must, otherwise, by fusing two worlds we are comparing a human wizard against at least an angel, which is ridiculous, as Gandalf wouldnt even feel dumbledores attacks, and dumbledore couldnt win) he will come back less than he was, and no matter how many times he comes back, he will be less than his previous incarnation. So, go dumbledore, kill gandalf, if you can. We are watching. Your eventual diminishing to nearly nothing if you do. Not to mention Gandalf, in his movie, killed an angel(?demigod?/ainur, maia) of flame. An evil angel of flame. And only then fell to death. And came back better. So, again, acording to movie lore, movie Gandalf wins. Eventually.

If you actually read the LOTR books or watch the extended version of the LOTR movies Gandalf does not die. He merely learns a new power buried within him as he falls deeper into the mines of Moria, after his fight with the balrog. The LOTR books are never going to be close to “cheap writing”. Read them and let your brain melt away with these big confusing words from an older English. And I don’t see dumbledoor scaring the trash out of entire armies of blood thirsty uruk-kai (orcs x10).

Gandalf wasn't just present when the universe was created. He HELPED TO CREATE the universe.

Mortals defeated gods all the time in fiction.

And that's by desing. Harry Potter has hard magic system with clear rules while Lord of the rings has soft magic. No system is better than the other but with a soft magic system everything is possible.

@@gamerstheater1187 "Soft" magic doesn't mean "weak" magic. It just means that the magical system in LotR is wilder and more undefined. In comparison, the mechanics of the magic in HP is more detailed, is what the person above meant to say. Since LotR has less defined rules about magic, you see examples of incredible magical displays and they make sense in-universe.

Actually Melkor would be Lucifer, Sauron was Melkor's underling so if anything he'd be one of Lucifer's Lieutenants in this analogy..

Also last time I checked, he was never truly the master of either the resurrection stone or the cloak, so he never actually was able to use them. Also I am pretty sure that Gandalf could use his staff to literally destroy the Elder Wand with ease. Gandalf could have also used his elven ring to defeat Dumbledore with ease.

And a mortal wizard with a yes, indeed supremely powerful magical fire spell that can be unleashed in a cave (and a school castle if memory serves but not that sure) without collapsing it VS the flame of anor(the sun...) according to gandalf...... Came back better and stronger too. However, if dumbledore is coming back, rest assured, he will be diminished from his glory. No mortal comes back from dead as better in potterverse. But thats the kicker. Gandalf is not mortal. Only his avatar/skin is.

@@VergilTheLegendaryDarkSlayer clearly you haven't read the hp books wizard in wizarding world universe doesn't need their wand to use magic. Wand is a tool to help you control the magic easier. It is known that wizards in Europe use wands alot but other wizards do not. Also you can cast spell with out even speaking but announcing by your head. Gandalf may be a higher being he will lose to dumbledore in combat.

@@boydriceisawesome2520 I disagree. It all just comes down to the magic system in both lores. Middle earth magic probably exhaust the users which explains why gandalf fights with swords occasionally. I dont know about the books but based on the movies, Gandalf can only do fire and light spells. On the other hand, wand spells don't consume energy, and the spells are limited only to the wizard's knowledge. And Dumbledore knows alot!

A sword which he used himself. Didnt give it to second years students to use against a giant monster snake. Untrained in the art of defence against monsters, not to mention using a sword against Amy kind of opponent. Heck how to simply handle a sword even. And Frodo was an adult!!!!! At the very least 33 years old for hobbits. Not ten to fifteen... Him and his uncle had the same birth date and same birthday party. Bilbo could disappear because Frodo was a legal adult that day and noone could take bags end and everything Bilbo left to him from him, by claiming he is a minor. And he didnt Rum out of home at his birthday too. A very considerable time passed, which males Frodo a proper adult. And bilbo was a bit too adult for being a single bachelor when Gandalf took him to his journey. Maaaybe fili and kili were young yes, but they had a whole set of adult family, and they could very well be young adults too, because gimli was left at home because of his age. Even if they were young lets say, and not to forget they were capable warriors albeit if untested, they were landless princes. They had a duty to their people. Being royalty had its additional weight on all ages of family members, including being bethrothed at the ripe old age of newborn for example.(not saying they were bethrothed, it was a real life example)

That and it took a far more dangerous opponent to kill Gandalf. Dumbledore died from a mercy kill due to already being afflicted by a curse that was going to kill him, Gandalf only died after chasing and fighting a balrog for several days

Its not an unfair fight. Is not a fight. Does an npc really harm a player when it kills the players avatar? Dumbledore is npc and/or a computer program. Gandalf is a player who was the part of the team that created the computer. Eru wrote the programs. Gameverse is arda.
