This is the lifting of the Dump Body and removal of the Hydraulic Cylinder so I can get it down to the shop so it can be rebuilt. It failed in yesterdays video : • Bench-loading Dump Tru...
Thank you for the video. I am attempting the same job on a similar truck. I took the two bottom bolts out no problem. I got the nut and lock washer off the top bolt, but when I try to feed the top bolt through it hits the steel wall. Did you encounter any issues removing the top bolt? Also, I like the tool boxes you have mounted below the bed. Did you install those yourself or did they come with the truck?
Cool video😎 Is there a difference between a telescopic cylinder that I seen in dump trailers at the very front & the cylinder that's on ur red truck??? & why is yours under the bed instead of the front of the bed as in the dump trailers I seen on YT ???? Can u install it at the front of the bed instead than underneath and would it perform better that way ,is it possible??? Thanks
Thanks for the comment....there were 4 , and they were tied together and to the tool boxes and as as safety factor there is a 6x6 in the hinge just in case. Trust me, I do not want to get squished :-)
Other that a bit of surface rust, structure is surprisingly sound......It did spend most of it's life in garage, only last 2 it's been outside. Thank you for the tip!
Time for new seals. You will learn how much you can not haul on the truck when or if you blow the seals out again been there done that. I hope all goes well.
They lasted 29 years, wasn't the weight, I used to haul stone. I really haven't used it for the last 4 years so I believe they dried out. Followup video to follow.....teaser.....I't's back into action.....Thanks Scruffy.
I have to make this one work....I am going to start building another house here for my wife and I in October and a new truck will take away from the pool/outdoor living area budget.... :-)
