Just be real. You will of course have all camera systems available, and what you put in your bag this month….or next month does not make a difference really.

I'm a sports photographer and thought I would really love the high megapixel count of the mirrorless world, but I used a Sony body that clocked in somewhere around 35-42 megapixels (can't remember exactly) and man, idk what laptops/computers people are running, it bogged down my workflow so fast. I love that the tech of cameras keeps getting "better and better" but we're creating the problems of having to not only buy $3k plus camera systems and $6k worth of quality lenses to stay relevant in the changing and privileged landscape of photo/video, but also having to convert our entire workflow to supplement that change, tacking on another $2k laptop/gpu/workstation what have you. Surely we're hitting the limit of what is necessary and practical, right? Regardless, still good info for people in the middle of buying/switching.

Always enjoy your videos and appreciate the work you do. But this whole ‘switching’ fetish that seems to have come to dominate the photography community just makes me shake my head. Feels like people start looking for their next camera five minutes after acquiring their ‘dream’ gear. It’s a wonder that they have any time to take any actual photographs.

My D850 is still a dream come true for me. I've had it for a year and it's an amazing camera. I don't care about video and so I don't care if the rear screen rotates around. I'm a landscape/wildlife photographer and the dynamic range of the D850 is amazing. I'm also not a small guy, so mirrorless cameras feel like 'toys' in my big hands. Oh, and don't forget the EVF. I HATE EVF. My D850 is only one year old and I'm 60 years old. I think it'll outlast me. I haven't seen any compelling reasons to switch to mirrorless. The Z9 is amazing, but I expect the Z9/2 will be even better and will probably be out in a year or so, so why bother.

All good stuff. I shoot with the R5 and shoot wildlife and sports, landscapes. I have the 500mm and 300mm primes. However, the RF100-500 and combined with the 1.4RF converter is a GAMECHANGER!!! Let me show you my images to convince you. This lens combination rewrites the rulebook of photography! I shoot at 2000ISO and post use LR and Topaz noise reduction Ai. Don't leave this significant change out from your discussions!

What I only found in just 1 review of all the reviews was this: if you need the 20 frames per second, you're probably doing some fast action. The problem with the R5 isn't the 20 frames per second, but the rolling shutter that will appear in the pictures. The read out speed of the sensor just isn't fast enough. You'll see it in shots with high speed movement like hockey, baseball, the flapping of the wings of birds etc. Maybe this helps somebody.

How did it take almost a year to get the Z9 when they only started shipping in December / 3 months ago?

1 year wait for the z9? that must be a mistake since z9 was only available for pre order in late October and announcement was mid November.

1:40 Canon R5: US$ 3.899,- Nikon Z9: US$ 5.497,- Sony A1: US$ 6.498,- Yeah, that's really a valid comparison. LOL! I'd take the R5 over any of those. Besides, the Northrups seem to think that anyone can just jump from brand to brand because we all have loads and loads of lenses for all those systems, right? You need to go out a bit more. Talk to real photographers, and not just to sponsored RU-vidrs. Maybe your sense of reality will come back.

It saddens me to hear you say it took almost a year to get a Z9 when it was ready for purchase on October 28, 2021 and yet it's only March 20th, 2022. Nikon was not and has not been shy about stating that NPS member, meaning ppl who were members prior to October 28th 2021, would be getting these units first. Kinda silly to state it took almost a year when it was released less than a year ago.

Chelsea would be a perfect candidate for a Nikon Z8 whenever it finally comes out (if such a camera is being developed), without the size of the extra grip, with much of the same new tech and improved AF focusing of the Z9 but better than the z7ii AF for fast active tracking. 42MP to 45MP is more than enough for most people including landscapers who want extra Megapixels to print large. Until then R5 and Sony's would work. I cannot see her hauling around a big Z9 for street and landscape and wildlife. Nikon and Sony have great color science in them.

If I had the money, I'd swap my Lumix S1R and S1 for the Z9 or A1. I started with the Nikon F2 in high school and always, liked Nikon. My Lumix has awful AF. Buyers remorse.

I am happy with my Nikon Z7ii, seeing the size of the Z 9 concerns me. I am so happy with the Z glass that is coming out. Love my Z 24-70mm, 2.8. Thanks for all of your research and testing.

I use AirTags on my cameras as well. Not sure if camera companies would partner with Apple to use their AirTags as the security but it looks like it’s literally the option photographers are leaning towards. Just build in security already! Protect your customers!

I normally watch and love your video's. Always well done and informative This one however, felt like it was a KEH ad with a few lines about camera choices. I was disappointed to say the least.

Anti theft = gaffer tape. But seriously if you have a yard long lens it is a target and no anti theft device will slow folks down, they can all be defeated.

I said goodbye to my R3 tonight. Sent it to a commercial photographer in California. I couldn’t get past the smaller number of megapixels, compared to my R5.

You are feeding the R5 with sd-cards? But he loves CF-Express ❤️ cards. Is he on diet or are you just showing him you don't like him anymore and you prepare him slowly to the point that you will leave him. I feel so sad about your R5, my R5 is female we feed her with CF-Express and soon she will get a cube puppy, we will call him R5c.

Z 400/2,8 1,4TC , the 500/5,6PF and the upcoming Z 800/6,3PF. Nikon is unbeatable in the telephoto range..

Cute, fun start and ending. Not sure why you want your pro level wildlife camera to work for vlogging when something tiny and light weight will do the job. As somebody who got their first camera in Mystic CT in the late 1940s, it sounds very odd to hear you having issues with 160GB card that can shoot 30 frames per second. Maybe you make large prints or sell calendars and maybe you are VERY strong, but if not I have always thought the Olympus MFT system very well suited to wildlife. Lastly, you would never expect a carpenter to do all their work with one tool, so why the focus on the perfect camera body. I use Fuji FX and GFX with native lenses and many off brand such as Canon (for wildlife) and Pentax 645 (for tilt shift adapters) As far as portraits go, nothing in my experience compared the GFX 110mm f2.0 and the 80mm f1.7. So just saying, if you are even considering a $14,000 lens, check out GFX 100S x 110mm. Very hard to beat. The shading and color transitions are what truly set this lens in a unique place. It’s not just about bokeh. Anyway fun vid!! Lastly. I love KEH but I really felt there was WAY TOO much advertising in this video.

Wonderful job Chelsea. I came expecting more "breaking news", but left knowing that my Pentax gear will have to suffice. Always feel that 20--30fps cameras are like shooting ducks with an Uzi. And then you need a data center to store the (mostly unused/unusable) images I'm guessing. BTW--agree KEH is great--purchased many perfect condition items there at big savings.

Travel and landscape are two quite different genres. Think Ansel Adams with a huge 10x8 and Henri Cartier Bresson traveling with his Leica 35mm. My vote for the Z9 for landscape including astrophotography and the Z7ii for travel assuming most cannot afford multiple systems.

The Nikon Z9 camera did not take a year to get a hold of? It was available for preorder since end of October of 2021, we are now in mid March 2022 and it has been available to many, however tight supplies continue due to chip shortages. You you say it has taken a year to get the Z9 (mark 9:08 of the video)? This is not right and misleading to your viewers.

I own the R5, I got it for the high resolution and knew it was the one I wanted out of the Canon lineup. Didn’t compare to Sony or Nikon options, and I didn’t know I’d enjoy the flip screen so much, and that the others don’t have it for self pictures/ videos!

Hard to believe in this day and age, that new cameras do not have a fully flip out LCD screen. I don't do selfie or such, but I flip the screen out when I to do lower to the ground shots. So the Sony and Nikon and any other camera that does not have a full flip-out LCD , I would not be buying
