30 years ago, I emailed my supervisor who was sitting in the cubicle next to mine. When he commented about the silliness of emailing someone right next to you, without a beat, I said: "OK, next time I'll call you."
"The Laythe Rock must've screwed with your ship's clock. This mission can't have taken more than 150 years! (the plot would be literally meaningless if that were true) Did I get away with that one?"
Can we take a moment to appreciate the Colossus structure? Like holy shit it's made out of vanila KSP and not modded... Is there a behind the scenes video on how you made certain scenes like when they're exploring inside the spy ships and stuff?
if you look at the "timer" under the time warp-thingy, you can see that it took them 3 years to get there. Haven't the duna space center already tracked them by that time? XD
Beautiful. Just beautiful. Must have taken months, you deserve more praise than I can give you. But please, update the damn description it’s been over a year!
I've re-watched this at least 15 times now. Every time it's just as good (if not better) than the first viewing. This is how you make a spoof. And a good movie.
Fun fact, sky hooks were real at some point, as a way to pick up troops when a helicopter couldn't reach and a plane couldn't land. It involved tying yourself to a balloon and then letting it go so a plane could catch it.
I love the editing skills you used, I actually very much enjoyed this along with all of your KSP videos! The ending on this one, however OOOO BOY! That was fantastic when the space suit lights came on. Well done ! Brilliant :) keep it up
Rohan Zener dunno, could be because Kerbin left a crew on a station, causing them to adapt and become Dunans. And the Dunans will not forgive the kerbals
Your ships look like they will easily crash but they fly so well and my ships look like they fly so well and just spin out and crash! That is how good you are at piloting
This video deserves more support. This must have taken ages to film. They went to other planets, and I know that takes usually an hour in real life. Props for you Matt.
I just realized Matt had to have used at least 2 different save files for this for the Duna Space Center bit to work, because Alien Space Programs replaces KSC entirely.
You need to make more movies like this one, It's very entertaining and satisfactory to see space battles, ships crashing, explosions and amazing inventions.
Loved it, but i always reimagine the ending as the cannon firing at colossus making it lose control and fall into ksp, while argus at the same time escapes and destroys the cannon, then saves jeb with the sky hook seconds before colossus explodes straight into the middle of the ksp, taking it out.
Best RU-vid movie I've ever seen. I should share this with my astromechanics professor and suggest he show this to our class. I'm an aerospace engineering major pursuing the space engineering track. I just have so much to say. How long did this take you? I bet it took you a long time on failed flights alone. Also, did you do this all by yourself or did you have help? Couldn't you just have the Colossus deploy a nuclear missile while Jeb evacuates the base in an escape pod and the fighters deal with the fleet? * that scene seemed kinda dumb if you ask me. I mean, do you even need a ground-based tracking station to know what's coming toward your spacecraft? If you do, then you are a terrible designer. What if an asteroid comes at you mid-transfer and your tracking station's down, then you're toast." Except for the part where Jeb and Bill are walking through the second orbital cannon (they should be floating in there), the physics was spot-on accurate. You clearly knew enough about orbital mechanics to successfully plan all those missions; you sir have mastered the art of the Hohmann Transfer. You also make an excellent lander, while I can't even land my own first-grade planes (I made a cockpit ejection system for that, but it's only going to be effective if I don't plan to go further than low Kerbin orbit). Now all I need is a way to farm science without wasting funds, and we're cooking.
I was thinking he was making a big, big video while making the other videos as progression for the story till the dunaists recreate their army or something...
