I think she meant seriously. In my eyes, it seemed that Gwen was looking for an easy relationship in which there wouldn't be any drama or conflict. She and Duncan are like the boy/girl versions of each other, so they got along really well and didn't have any dynamic, good or bad. It makes for a steady relationship but not a very good one and definitely not interesting enough for a TV show.

Duncan and Courtney had passion whereas him and Gwen were more buddies who have similar interest but are different on a practical level. Its typecasting to make the assumption that a goth and a punk* would make a good romantic match.
jesus christ this!! I agree so much. I never saw Duncan and Gwen as the same person like some people say. They have some major differences. Also I never really felt any chemistry between them. Just buddies.

Duncan and Courtney + Geoff and Bridgitte were the only reasons I watched these shows but they broke up and Geoff and Bridgitte are just always making out. I only like the first two seasons.
Same Duncan and Courtney made it hilarious and so did Geoff and Bridgette but after Duncan and Courtney broke up it got boring Gwen is so annoying to me and all Geoff and Bridgette do is make out which is annoying why didn't they stop at the first two seasons
TDWT ruined all my remaining reason for these two to be together. They were cute at first, but then they started fighting constantly. And then Duncan cheated on her. Courtney doesn't need him back after all he's done to her and her to him. He's pretty much why she's crazy now. Still, this is MUCH better than Scottney.

I guess I get why Courtney likes him, but eh...Duncan isn't really my type. I think I'd rather date Trent. Gwen really lost something when she dumped him. I still like her...but she still shouldn't have dumped him.
If Courtney wants to date a submissive guy, then why doesn’t she just go steady with someone like Brick? But, apparently, the writers love to put her with people who are her exact opposites. I mean Courtney strikes me as someone who would be repulsed by someone like Scott than attracted to him. Honestly, Gwen, Courtney, and Duncan kind of fell out of favor for me after the first season. And I think the writers have already done more harm than good with Trent - so I can see why they would t be in any rush to bring his character back.
Knowing there's gonna be a new season involving the cast of Total Drama Island, I pray to god himself that Courtney and Duncan somehow get back together. Better than Courtney and Scott imo.

Honestly, Gwen was an AWESOME character in Total Drama Island, she was my 2nd favorite following after LeShawna. Then, in Action, she was alright, 3rd favorite, Courtney was first, and still is (Courtney’s a QUEEN) but, I hated her in world tour. They did Gwen AND Duncan dirty and made them a really dislikable character. When Duncan CHEATED on Courtney and Gwen broke up with Trent for Duncan, I literally was so upset and now without my favorite ships I don’t know if I can watch the show anymore.
Courtney and Duncan's relationship was life goals, they be the only ones who can insult each other and make out after. also, let's admit it,do u REALLY think Duncan would ACTUALLY cheat? it's the writers fault in my opinion, yes Courtney tried changing him, almost ruined the chance of them having children(hint,what does she do to Duncan almost every week? 😃) and was obnoxiously in love, a bit rude but Duncan wouldn't cheat. look at him, he's so kind but hides it! he cares for DJ, Geoff and sometimes Harold! he loves animals(doesn't show it but in one of the confessionals a bird lands on him, and he says "awwww (๑•ᴗ•๑)♡" but then oh since the confession was about him not being nice but he proved it wrong) and he loves Courtney no matter what. you have to admit, once in ur life, Duncan wouldn't be the type to cheat, right? even if he's a bad boy and mean, he cares for everyone, heck he would probably save Courtney from dying if it was him or courtney
I really want them to be a couple again in the next season, but I want to see how they will do it if from Season 3 they made them both hate each other like never before, and at 5 they made things worse

Loved Duncney in Island. In Total Drama Drama Drama Island, Action, and World Tour I hated them. Courtney became a crazy, controlling, mean girlfriend. If only they kept her how she was in TDI.
The Mistress of the Night for real, I really don’t get why they changed her and made her mean and bossy and sooo uptight, she’s not the same good, nice/ follow the rules girl that she used to be, plus she tried to change the way Duncan is....... like stoooop and Duncan’s kinda changed to and because way to soft.
