I like that almost all of these videos are done on minis that are fully assembled. When I first started painting, sub assemblies were something I never considered or even knew how to do effectively, so videos like this saved my first batch of marines pretty much right out of the gate.

Those wetblends take the model to the next level! The Avatar is an imposing centerpiece of an Eldar army and with a paintjob like this he will do more than just have scary rules, he will look stunning too! Games Workshop have been on a roll lately releasing drop dead gorgeous sculpts and Duncan's been doing a great job making painting them approachable.

Pink undercoat and yellow paint, or, if you're feeling ballsy with getting down a smooth coat of white, then straight white, yellow ink wash, and shadow that sucker by wet-blending with progressively more red ink wash mixed into your yellow ink wash.

Hello Duncan, congrats on your channel milestone. Khaine looks awesome! How did you develop the manual dexterity to paint so well? Do you do any special exercises to train your hands or is it just a matter of painting enough stuff and eventually it will look good?

Thanks Elinoir, it's nothing more than practice. And also learning the right techniques to start with as well learning that it's okay to make mistakes. IF you learn the fundamentals, the rest will come easily.

Duncan, when you thinned the AP white to run into the line crevices between the muscle “plates” on the abs, was it as thin as an ink like Dayler Rainey (no idea how to spell that, sorry) or Liquitex? Just the very man... Sir Duncan, this Q is in regards to the new Chaos Chosen minis. On 1 of the sprues there's 2 bolt guns & 2 chainswords with tentacles wrapped around them but do you know where they should be glued (if opting to use them), a friend from WH Glasgow suggested they should be put on backpacks, but which 1s as the spares are clearly meant to fit somewhere, it doesn't show them on the build instructions

duncan i NEED you to do a how to paint hellpit abomination. i have scoured youtube and i cant find one. the closest thing we have is a guy who took picks during the process from 10 years ago. this is unacceptable as this is objectively the best mini in all of AOS. i think we can all agree this cannot continue and that a great champion like yourself must rectify at once

I was under the impression that diluting Contrast Paints with water instead of the dedicated Medium was detrimental since it broke apart the bonds or something like that. So confusing.

Yes, it is a little confusing to be fair. It depends on how much you wish to dilute it or what the effect you are going for is...so many factors. If in doubt, just thin it with the medium :-)
