After reading the title and watching the first minute, I thought Duncan had made a comedian do a pitch and Peter would get very angry about that hilariously silly idea!

Duncan is genuinely a nice guy. Humerous, honest and up for a good laugh too.

Awww kinda felt sorry for the old geezer. He's a humble man.

I think the millionaires forget that we don't all live in big fancy homes, not a lot of us have the room for a gym, the chair would be perfect for us who don't have a lot of room.

The guy needed to simply focus heavily on the elderly community.

This could've done great at retirement homes. This is a great idea for older people to stay fit. How could they not see potential in that?

This looks like a rather neat idea. I am disabled and would love to have my armchair double as an exercise machine for my physiotherapy needs.

I love how kind Richard is. And I agree with the other commentators that he should've focused on the elderly community. My grandfather, who uses a walker, hardly leaves the house and just does simple exercises by lifting his legs while sitting on a chair. He also walks back and forth in the small gap between the bed and the wall to catch himself in case he falls (he doesn't use the walker when doing this exercise). Something compact and multipurpose like this that can just sit in his room AND give him stability from a safety perspective would be really useful for him.

This chair may have actually been a life-saver for my late Grandma if these were on the market. She was slowing losing it and having something like this may have actually been a good thing.

Honestly, I think this was actually a really good idea. Could absolutely have been refined and would have needed a lot more money to do that but I do think something similar could take off in the future

Honestly I'd love to have an armchair that also functioned as a mini-gym. With work, family, more work and so on there's barely any time left for going to the gym most days. Nor do I have room for a full size gym machine at home. This chair might not be as versatile or professional as a proper home gym machine, but I'd love to have one.

He should have mentioned that people with small homes want things like that because they won't take up valuable room.

Maybe just me but i thought it was quite a good idea, being housebound & bad mobility this would be great for me, it could look nicer but that good be fixed I'm sure.

I mean, it's quite a neat idea tbh. Maybe make it a bit more robust and so on. But for a start, not bad really. I've seen a LOT worse designs and and ideas on this :P

Honestly the chair is pretty useful and creative. Imagine I buy it, put it in the living room or a nice place and someone comes to my place, just think of it as a normal chair. Then I can surprise them with all of the functions of this chair. things I like about Peter’s pitch or his product : He is a nice, humble and creative man. Price is good Chair is useful. Hopefully he can find someone to market this product. Good luck.

I love this chair. Ide really like to have one. Its easier to do your work-out in your home than going to a gym, and you can do it while you watch tv or play video games or whatever. Im surprised the dragons are son negative about the idea

I think it's brilliant and he was dead on about the target market. I remember my grandma buying all these exercise machines off the television and they took up so much space, and she ended up spending most of her time in her living room recliner. This would have been perfect for her.

I remember seeing this on the tv, the early days of dragons den. I find the way the dragons are laughing and mocking him very disrespectful. It's actually a really good idea, its very practical, resourceful, inventive, creative. lots of people want to keep fit but don't like the idea of going to a fitness centre, or can't physically get there, and they don't have many people in fitness centres over forty despite what Duncan claims, it would also save a lot of money on gym membership, not to mention space. hope he did make money on an invention, if not this then something else.

I don't know how good the business is but one thing I know, I'd love to own one. Maybe I'd take an office chair rather than the arm chair.

Duncan is in pretty good shape but I always find it odd he runs a gym and fitness empire because he seems far more at home in a pub than a gym

I live in a small apartment, space is limited so I use it efficiently. I also like to (out of necessity) do short and simple workouts every now and then, in front of the tv for entertainment. When I do this, I move my couch a little because it's in the way. I'm also 40+ and I f*kin hate the gym. So this man's stats are on the nose if you ask me. I'd have some questions though: - Durability of the fabric: is it made for sweating on it, more than on a normal couch? - Efficiency: I'm going to want adjustable resistance on everything. - Expert approval: I don't need it to give me a hernia. But these things could be taken care of in the design, so... Love the concept, love the man himself. Notice how none of the investors really gave the man a specific reason on why it wouldn't sell, other than it being "ridiculous". In my eyes some of these dragons made a fool out of themselves on this one.

So where was the “prank”?

At first I laughed too, but I actually think it's a pretty good idea when I think about it. Plenty of people sit around playing video games or watching tv, and they don't want to spend hours going out to the gym. All you really need is 5-10 minutes of strength exercise to be in decent shape if you do it every single day. You're not going to look like a bodybuilder, but most people don't want that anyway. 5 minute workout while you're waiting for your friends to join a video game, 5 minutes while you're watching Rick and Morty and you're good.

“Ok, if you don’t like that, here’s a toaster I invented that will simultaneously toast bread and scratch your gentleman’s area”.

If this guy pitched it maybe at least a month or two months before the 'Rona has shut the entire world down this 2020, this chair would have made millions. I've been working at home for almost 7 months inside, and my jogging and lifting weights is just not enough to burn calories being stacked, and this chair just might be sufficient enough to move about, and my grand parents will love this product. The chair itself is ergonomically space-saving in a home that's a wee bit small to fit in gym equipment,a bit more in the polish and construction on it's make up and equipment within would work amazing, so this was not a bad idea at all! The dragons have missed the mark here. Kudos to Peter for taking on the den. He may have failed the dragons, but there's definitely a market in this time wanting this kind of invention!

The office chair version of this could be useful in the case of people who spend majority of the day sitting down such as programmers

I think it's a great concept. There are alot of people who are not fitness freaks but just want to stay fit and could not go the gyms. Due to work commitments, gym hours ....etc. some people do not have space to put a gym machine in home. It's an amazing product.
