For the people saying its dark and darker Thats a good thing These games need competition it brings motivation Look at tarkov their ego got to them for being the only genre of that game and started doing dumb mistakes
as someone with over 1k hrs in DaD I like dungeon borne a lot more. Its QoL upgrades make it an actually good title that has the chance to go main stream. Map design / graphics are way better!
I've never seen Nikita been more humble and be more attentive to what the community want or need since the release of Gray Zone and Arena breakout, sure the unheard debacle is a fucking joke but most of the community already forgot about it. When you can just switch side if the grass is greener the other side of the fence, suddenly you HAVE to be good.
Thanks for covering this. For whatever reason, games like Tarkov don't appeal to me, but I did have a serious Mordhau obsession and somehow the whole inventory management/extraction thing makes more sense to my gamer brain in a fantasy RPG setting.
It seems to be taking the core concept that Dark & Darker uses and cranking it up with interesting and unique mechanics and polish. After the 20th time a fully buffed, geared, and shielded barbarian/cleric trio literally steamrolled over me through a hallway without even looting me because I was low level cannon-fodder... I was kinda done with Dark & Darker. I much prefer the look of a lot of these tactical abilities over massive stat buffs that just win because math.
@@veroh-qj3ix It's already not the exact same thing. Yes, stats play a big role. But the devs literally said in the video that they want tactical decision making to play a big part. Also, chill.

@@Daddyopsuhm no? You probably have played only on low level, but the skill expression is way better here then DaD, you can costumize your character by buying weapons that give you different active skills that you need to use strategically.

@user-lm6tv5fk8vmy man RIPDEAN was referring to dark and darker when he said “being a skele boo AGAIN” because he was use the skeleton skin in DaD and now he is gonna do the same thing here you don’t have to tell him that to go to DaD, are you inciting people to buy that game and doing advertisement for that company? Also dungeonborne got inspiration from DaD but they made new interesting ideas and made the formula more interesting since everything they crafted was made from zero, while DaD not, most assets of DaD are bought and copy from other games, is funny that you are saying that this game is copying while DaD is doing the same

It's been somewhat fun, but the melee combat really feels unsatisfying as of right now, especially the club/mace weapons. Hits dont feel like they have weight to them when connecting. Still, the ability and class design is really good so I hope they fix the combat's feel for the EA release
Honestly, they could have made it a tiger for druid instead of a panther. Or any other big cat, a lion maybe? As for other forms, i think bear is unavoidable since its so iconic, maybe a wolf or a gorilla would be an interesting choice. Also do you still like D&D? The way you said "will not be named" had me initially thinking you were avoiding the game instead of just avoiding comparing the two.
The ultra dark corners of the maps in dark and darker are design choices so that people can't cheese the light stealth by cranking up the brightness. You not being able to see in the dark without light is part of the game...
I have to disagree on the Dark and Darker Druid point. The games draw both of their inspiration from Dungeons and Dragons. Druid in fantasy and myth has certain forms they routinely take....like that of a bear, a large cat, wolves, birds. I don't see how they could utilize the reptile/fish shapes without a water level lol.
I'm wondering when the DaD content will drop? I haven't seen anything from you expect that one video awhile ago. MUCH LOVE MY GUY love any and all content you do.
Really looking forward to this game. I don't particularly like Dark and Darker and I really hope this turns out to be a better version of what that game offers.
A lot of these affixes are just for bloat. Why all different elements have their own affix? Why not just "magic" and "physical"? Set affixes are cool tho, I do support that idea, there is such little customization in DB in this aspect.
i agree with the point about druid shapes!!!! just like the weapons this game shouldnt have daggers short swords spears mace because those are just things in dark and darker!!! druid needs to have wildshapes that dont show up in dark and darker!!!! this game is different in other areas, like in dark and darker they have plate armour but in dungeonborne we have... well okay we have plate but in dark and darker they have invisible rouges but in dungeonborne we have... okay well we have that but its different honest!!!
this game looks cool but weapons need to CC, when you walk forward and someone does a stab attack towards you with a greatsword or rapier or something, you either shouldn't be able to keep walking towards them or you should take 3x maybe 4x damage, your impaling yourself just to get closer it should be punished
Hope it's better than dark and darker. I really enjoy dark and darker "MOSTLY" but the combat is cringe. Enemies needing like 10 arrows to die, or a bat needing 3-4 is a bit much
Here come all of the people who haven't really played either game saying it's just a ripoff Dark and Darker. It's not! If you play them they are very different.
The game we do not speak of won their court case, reinstated on Steam, and is free. I'm only upset that I paid $30 for it and something better came along with the same premise.
different approach of the same genre. i play dark and darker and played dungeonborne in the last test. they feel very different. i like both, will play both
I’m not happy to see the Druid panther.. please don’t make any abilities that allow players to change their hitbox.. it hurts the quality of PvP.. because every other character has a set of fundamentals that they need to follow when they fight, kite, weapon accuracy. You shouldn’t be able to become a 2 foot knee slapping panther.. d&d should have never let that past play testing.. everything else on Druid in D&D is fine, makes sense, being able to fly to unreachable areas, not cool, being able to morph into a tiny rat and hide in unreachable crevices, not cool, becoming a giant bear which can turn around or stand up and have an unreachable head, not cool.. having a panther who’s head is 2 feet from the ground which causes you to stab the ground that cancels your attack combo, not cool.
"It's going to be early access and not a released game" How are ppl still so ignorant? They are charging money, it's a released game. There is no guarantee that they will ever deliver anything of some random roadmap or promises, if anything history has shown it's more likely that a game doesn't do that.
Dude... Psyhoghost's bread and butter was literally an Early Access game that costed money. Hunt is a shining example of what a passionate team can do with early access. I say give it a try before you throw up your hands, Steam refunds exist for a reason.
@@PsychoghostGaming Yes, and in early access it was a shitshow that I put on ignore. Just because there are some success stories doesn't mean the vast majority of them underdeliver massively. Just recently take kerbal 2, who's first game successfully went through that path, and the second game is now still being sold while having 0 developers working on it and being a scam.
Actually cant wait for this. I played Darker and Darker since its second play test. Dungeon Bourne is way better mainly because there is more PVP. Each time you play trios there arent really enough portals so it forces you to fight others. Its simple enough for ANY of your friends to pick it up. The classes are solid and unique yet none of them are BUSTED. Love the game will never play Darker and Darker again when this fully releases.
because the game hasn't been released yet and although it shares the same characteristics, it may vere completely in playstyle and substance kind of like how every "hero shooter" is compared to Overwatch or every MOBA to WOW despite having only a surface-level comparison because of its defined genre. Once its out and ready for comparison and fall heavily inline with dark and darker then it would be fair to compare them.
