Great review! One thing I'd like to point out is that often times the graphs that are used for FR are not the easiest things to read. As a data analyst, I'd really like to help make them better, if that's something you're also interested in! Just a few suggestions: - Do not rely on color for differentiating measures. Colorblindness comes in many forms and choosing the "right" colors is incredibly difficult. - Use line thickness & style (eg, solid, dashed, dotted, etc.) for differentiating measures. - Remove in-plot text, or, at the very least, move it to an unimportant location. - Slightly reduce the transparency of the grid lines. These contrast with the background too much and with the foreground too little, making the information you're trying to talk about much less noticeable. - As you talk through the FR graph, slightly darken the region(s) not being discussed. This greatly helps with viewer attention spans and can really help people understand what you're talking about. Thanks again for the awesome review!

I love how slick he just explained there can never be a "best headphone" for the market because all of us are looking for different things from the frequency and just because this IEM does vocals up front and personal doesn't mean the next person actually like up front and personal vocals. Everything is subjective.
Have you ever heard the thieaudio voyager 14? All balanced armatures but the bass is insane. Great review as always! My SA6 came today. Holy shit it’s awesome!
I agree "upper mid range presence around 2k - 3k ", wtf is that supposed to mean ? if you can explain what that means in real term comparisons then wtf don't you just use them !
@@robertlee9935 It means sound in that frequency range is more noticeable and present. It's how the iem is tuned. If you look at the frequency graph you'll see that range on the curve more elevated. Some instruments from what I gather may sound more realistic, like the piano, with more presence in this range.

Kept seeing praise for these so I pulled the trigger, though my bank balance isn't too happy. At least I'll have something a bit more high end to compare with my favourite and most expensive set at present, the Moondrop Blessing 2. I need just one or two more pairs to compliment the Blessing 2 though and I'll be set for a while *happy dance*.
@@Wingedmagician great IEM. Still suffers from BA bass though. So I tend to use the Hana or Blessing 2 if I need more excitement to the signature. But the SA6 have a great tuning and are my best all-BA IEM by far. Easily beat the Fiio FA7 and Magaosi K5 that I have. I'd say it's probably rivalling the Blessing 2 for my favourite ATM. I don't know if I'd pay the current price though (30% more than it was). It's notably more expensive than when I got it.
Perfect for loud volumes if the treble is a bit recessed . My type . Wish the reviewers could make 2 reviewers opinions in 2 volumes . 70 dB and 90db .
Yup I agree with you. Just received mine 2 weeks ago after having it delayed since May due to covid issues, it's great for higher volume listening without pain and fatigue, it's great for public transport! Tempted to do a written review of this even though it's an older model.
Any comparisons with the Moondrop S8? Feel like that's become forgotten now with the Blessing 2/Dusk. (esp. in terms of form factor and comfort - my biggest hesitation for spending 400$+ on a hype iem is their large sizes and the potential headache of returning an imported item)

Hi Andrew, great review man. I wanted to know your take on cables , and whether they make a difference in SQ. Is it worth it to spend 200/300 USD for enhancing the sound ? Do they alter the FR?
It's not worth it for sound quality. Buy cables for ergonomics, convenience or aesthetics. I've measured headphones with a number of high end cables and no they don't change the FR.
@@TheHEADPHONEShow I am glad that you have measured it! More people should believe in the basic physics behind this, but if they don’t believe the physics hopefully they respect the measurements. I cringe when I read about people paying top dollar for a cable to change the sound of an IEM... As you say, ergonomics or aesthetics are the reason for upgrading cables on IEMs.
Apparently these are great for competetive gaming. Since they represent the soundstage correct. Would you know others iem that are having the soundstage accuracy?

For metal, and at this price range, do you still yhink it's the best iem? Even better than the Clayrvoaince? I do love a more "meat" mids! Specially for guitars!
I am looking to buy an IEM quite soon. I have pretty bad iem (entry level Sennehiser) and i am considering buying the Shure SE 535 that is curently in promo. How would it compare with this one ? Have you ever reviewed it ? I do not see Shure on your website. I do not know much about IEM and what i should look for so any advices are more than welcome. (i mostly listen to prog/death metal and classic rock) Also, it doesn't seem like DUNU is available on the european market.
Man, pretty much any chifi iem ranging from the 200$ Thieaudio L4 to even the 320$ Blessing 2 Dusk or Blessing 2 would SHIT on the Shures. Things moved on a lot... Shures are of the past, and that goes for all of them, you could find much, much better values nowadays. You listen to metal and rock? Perfect, the B2Dusk should be for you.
I also have the 4xr, more imaging on the er2se, nice step up from 4xr in general. A side grade from that would be the monarch with better technicalities 👍
@@floriangopel3909 ER2 seems to gain recent RU-vid likings, definitely will check it out. On the Thieaudio, I am still at a tussle between Monarch vs Clairvoyance given that even 4XR aren't that Bass-heavy. I wish I can test these out, or someone can do up a demosound on RU-vid (like oluv's gadget Channel on 4XR).
@@pfx2259 if that helps you I've got the monarchs and it's very very neutral, nearly etymotic neutral and the bass boost is to my ears not bass heavy, it's still balanced, if you don't have a Very technical source (I've got ibasso dx300 with amp 12 and that's like a dream combination with the monarchs) take the cv bcs it's less technical. I never heard the cv but I am completely satisfied with the monarch 👍it's very versatile with a good source.
@@pfx2259 the er2 has better imaging better depth better tonality more richness and texture on the whole frequency response, just a little less details, but if you can catch these details it's still more than enough. The er2se is the earphone where the music can,, escape,, the earphone and you become a part of the music. That's maybe the best experience you can get from audio 👍
@@floriangopel3909 thanks. You’re posing a compelling testimony. Id probably wouldn’t mind more bass in monarch than 4xr as oppose to more treble (which worries me about the cv). Though the more you delve into youtube, some think cv is better and more neutral. To me, Etymotic seems special for its intimate staging (it’s like you’re in the same padded studio booth with the musicians). I am guessing the more imaging or staging I am craving for, the less intimate the sounds.
