@@KipdoesStuff what are they supposed to do, use an abacus? plot out the math in the stars with a sextant? come on guy you can't do the math without knowing how it works. Dave is using a calculator is that witch craft?
@@KipdoesStuff ...you do realize that we all see your apathy don't you? There are people out there who ARE genuinely interested in wagon, carriage and cabinet making. Having a Master of the craft display not just the skills but the basic to accomplished math is, IS, needed to give kids an idea of the what/where/how/why of math. Right now during this time of international duress, where students are limited in educational opportunities, this video HAS Merit. Your sophomoric comment...is the thing that gets a laugh in 2nd grade at best.
Having alternate stock to make an item, a few bucks. Having the tools to duplicate the part, a lot more bucks. Having the skill to make the part. Priceless!
i know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Andy Rohan I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
And before the keyboard warriors tell Dave his seatbacks are cupped, he tells us "I'm using the cupping in these boards to make the seat more comfortable"! A sincere THANK YOU, Dave, for allowing us along on the journey! Hope you and your family (and your extended family here on RU-vid) have a safe, healthy and very Merry Christmas!
What a Sunday, what could be better Dave, I'm Setting here eating a Bowl of Black and Red Rabaris in Crem and Shugar watching you Be a Blacksmith making a Buggy part out of round stock? what a guy! Thanks for the Many wonderful Videos.
I'm a welder by trade, and I never thought I would enjoy watching a filthy wood elf every friday night. I really look forward to watching your videos. Next time I deliver a commission in bozeman/Livingston I ought to swing by with some brews to make up for some of the unkind things I've said about filthy wood elves.
Thanks for the Math lessons, it's amazing how much math we use in everyday life. You demonstrated a series of solutions in how to come up with a workable solution to your Geometry problem!
Dave, this is another great series that you're doing. But please don't feel that we'll get bored by watching similar repairs as time goes on. I learn new small bits every time I watch a video, even if you show a technique that I've already seen a dozen times! I wish you and your whole family a Merry Christmas! I also hope that all of you are safe and stay healthy through these times.
Mr. Dave I wish you a merry Christmas and may you receive the blessings of God, for you, your wife, sons and daughter, and may your grandchildren be blessed too, may God protect and keep you. amen.
There is a kind of ”perfection fulfillment” here that I enjoy. Like ”do it right or don´ t do it”. In addition - the craftmanship is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for your videos!
Your weekly videos are a source of great pleasure - I look forward to watching each episode. Seasons Greetings to you and yours, keep well and be safe.
Since there's a good chance you won't upload a video next week, being Christmas and all, I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year. These videos have been a haven of rest and comfort in this otherwise miserable year -- thanks so much for them. Steve from Circle
The buggy and The seats are coming on great you just don’t realise how much work is in rebuilding one 😀👍 happy Christmas to you all hope you get to spend some time with your daughter as I know she works away take care until next one 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Thanks for taking us along on this journey ! The seats are great and enjoyed every step along on this project. Merry Christmas to you and your families. Be safe and blessings to all. Fred.👍👍👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for sharing your time with us like this. I really enjoy watching you work the iron to your will to make the needed parts. Hopefully we can watch you make the corner braces next video.
Merry Christmas from las vegas Nevada, you are a artesian, your hands are bringing back part of the history of the United States of America in to the 2020, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
What is amazing, in the 1890's a wagon like that could cost as much as $18- $25 in U.S. gold, all decked out. Of course, wages were pretty low as well. A high paying salary position was something like $325.00 a year. A male school teacher could make as much as $75.00 yearly. 😉
Amazing workmanship. And your math skills are enviable. Wouldn’t have thought poplar was strong enough for the seats, what with heavy butts and all. Thanks for the video
So Dave, the seats should be finished next week. Just in time for Christmas, what a fantastic present for us, the viewers. May your Christmas be bright as well. God bless to all and to all a good night.
You are such an amazing craftsman. Carpenter, blacksmith, roofer ... what else do you have up your sleave? I would love to see your craft passed on to another generation. I wish you a very Merry Christmas. And thank you for brightening my starts into the weekend for over a year now.
You are a Fine Craftman enjoy your videos came down I 90 in June 2021 thought about you but was in hurry to get back t Petersburg Texas be safe god bless.
I always look forward to your videos, believe it or not I get a lot of inspiration from you for my projects, their have many aha moments. Thank you for posting.
Howdy Dave, I look forward to Friday evenings. It's nice to get away from what's going on these days and watch you create a seat from a chunk of wood and some bar stock. Merry Christmas to you and yours from Texas.
I enjoy the woodworking, but for me the metalworking is where it's at-to be skilled in both arts is to be blessed. (of course it took a lot of effort to achieve this).
I was feeling good about my limited skills until you broke out the math equation and then threw in PI for good measure;-) I truly enjoy your videos and realize just how much I have yet to learn. Happy Holidays to you and your entire family!
@@KipdoesStuff fortunately for those of us who've had a blank stare on their faces since Algebra in middle school, there are apps available to help us out. Thanks for the kind words!
Hello Dave Merry Christmas and a good and healthy year 2021. Thanks for All the Videos and the good Feeling i got when i see you working It reminds so much Best wishes and all the best To you and your loved ones Frank Galetzka
I’m new to your channel; just found it today. Fantastic work. Your joinery is tops. I’ve learn a number of things already. Looking forward to much more.
Thanks again for being the most consistent of all my RU-vid subscriptions for setting the language of your videos to be English, so the auto captioning will work. And of course, thanks again for making such great videos.
@@thefixerofbrokenstuff - Even better. I wonder if the captioning was done by editing autocaptioning. I tried to do that with one of my own videos and found it very time consuming, especially getting the timing right for places where I was mumbling or the background noise smothered the speech and the autocaptioning was wildly wrong.
There's just nothing in this world like working your butt off all week and on Friday coming home and relaxing while watching Dave. just one of the highlights of the week. It's kinda like a good cup of coffee in the winter or a cold beer in the summer. Thanks again Dave, it just brightens my whole week. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
