Duplicolor Paint shop, DIY paint job with All 3 stages. Primer, Color and Clear 

Get a cheap harbor frt. Tent garage add a house fan/filter for air movement. Tarp on the floor. Can even wet the floor if needed. Wind, leaves, ect not so big a concern then. Bugs? Always a possibility😂 they love diving into fresh paint

You needed to thin that stuff about 20% with Acetone to help it flow. Not a deal killer though but that's where the orange peel came in.

I've used this duplicolor paint on Motorcycles alot but never on a car. I'm getting ready to though, I have been working on a 75 Pontiac Grand Prix that I'm going I've gotta paint the back of roof where the Landau Vinyl top was that I had to remove because it was dry rotting, I'm half a half can of Silver and I have a little bit of gloss black so I' think I'm going to add some black to the silver to darken it up to more of a pewter color instead of a bright silver, The car is burnt Orange and I think the darker color will jive with it better.

I spent big money on a gun for orange peel and i think it has more to do with paint i got some kbs diamond coat for durability i painted a bicycle it came out gun looking like sandpaper cause i didnt get thinner but it leveld good no orange peel

the reason you had orange peel on the color base is because you had your air pressure dialed a little too high. just kidding. its because you painted outdoors. you did great!

Great video- thanks for putting out a video that isn’t perfect. Tbh, your gun is not set right and probably has the wrong tip. Duplicolor recommends 1.4mm for all 3 - but that’s just for their product- every manufacturer has their own recommendation.

Always overlap sprays if you don’t want lines

Please help. I have applied duplicolor perfect match and it looks great. But I cannot clear coat do to weather that moved in. If I give it a light 800 sand, and clear 4 days later. What clear coat should I use? (duplicolor, eastwood 1K or 2K) thank you in advance. How much would be needed for a car roof? 1973 dart.

what did you sand the basecoat with? What grit (wet sand)? I'm about to try duplicolor's lacquer products. How about finish cut and buff on the clear coat? What grit(s)? Thanks.

I just used the Duplicolor paint and clear ... orange peel came out from both ... duplicolor sucks

Does wet sanding the base dull the end result? I though it was better not to mess with the base coat for some reason

How big is your air compressor and what PSI are you running?

Change your tips, primer and base are alot thicker.

You need to adjust your paint gun. That spray pattern is small as shit. Smh

bro you’re better off watching tutorial videos yourself before you start. you’re basically wasting $$$ & not applying anything correctly which will show at the end. one little mistake & it won’t look good & from every step you took i saw mistakes that would never give you a good paint job. look, i’m not here to grill you but to help out given we should all help each other out when we can & alot of my first mistakes when i was starting out were solved with youtube itself & i can recommend channels like paint society & the gunman to get you started. one thing that’s very important is the gun settings & it’s not supposed to spray in little inch lines because that will give you tiger stripes. usually gun settings are fluid wide open & fan 3/4 open for basecoat, psi around 26 psi but this is never exact because it varies greatly on what the gun company recommends & the type of paint & viscosity. it seems like alot of steps but trust me that it’s simple once you get the hang of it even for diy. best of luck
