Several in my club got into racing similar aircraft a few years ago and we had a blast. The Eflite Rare Bear on 6S was hard to beat. Makes me want to dust mine off and do it again. I’ve never seen anything like that with the coyotes. Camera man did a good job. We rarely captured any passes on video but the sound bites were worth the effort. Music to the ears!!

I had trouble launching the v900. In safe mode it twisted left and skimmed the ground. Do you start it in safe or as3x mode? Perhaps the gas above 50% is too much to start and tends to veer to the left. Some advice? Thanks!
The HK you're flying is the EFXtra(975mm/38.3), not the EFX(1100mm/43.3"), right? The current EFX looks like a slightly scaled up E-Flite V900 now. I'm picking up an EFX today and I think I'm changing the motor out to lower KV and make it into an efficient cruiser. Cool video. Well done.
There is the EFX racer, and the EF xtra, there is no combination of the two unless you put the ”racer” wing on the body of the extra, which is identical except paint scheme.
I agree, best ever. We need a rematch with the Motion RC Skynetic Havok vs V900. Its funny the coyotes never react to my planes and I have at least three that really shriek, and I have 3 packs living nearby. Sirens set them off, and a large moonrise will every time. I've never heard anything like this though, wow. Those aerodynamic 1M racers disappear so fast. I want them to make a 1.5-2m version. More Yak 11 class Reno Racers. $400 is a steal for something that fun.
i own both and i have to say the v900 is by far the faster of the 2. I've crashed both and the v900 can take a" lickin" and keep flying. Its just a better plane thru and thru.
EFXtra all day long. If I could only have one plane, that would be it. I had two V900s and they were junk in comparison. The EFXtra is flawless(it could maybe have a bigger rudder for better knife-edging etc., but not a big thing...) The V900 is crap - awful design in the battery bay with screws sticking out, terrible wing spar design - basically a short coat hangar piece holding the wings together, the tail is weak, it doesn't fit many 4S 2200s, the foam is softer etc.. so the plane looks like crap faster, etc.. It is a tiny bit faster and yes it is nice that it isn't quite as loud, but for me it's a no-brainer - EFX all the way. The EFXtra will also do 5S bone stock... Flew mine is heavy wind the other day.. Been flying them for five years, and they are still a thrill... Lot of potential to grow into and have fun with on into the future... For ex. I used to just do WOT passes, then let off, climb, come down, and repeat. Now I carve at WOT for most of a pack.. 5S is yet another bonus.. Etc.
