Why are you not showing this grab a rounded fasteners like you mentioned in the video. Instead you're using a perfectly hexed bolt head to demonstrate. Absolutely no help with this video!
I have the solid combination wrench version of these and literally the first time I use them one of the teeth pressed right out of the wrench head... I went back to AutoZone to try and warranty them and apparently they don't even have a part number on them even though they are Duralast and the girl that AutoZone basically told me to go to a different store location as if it would make a difference considering the wrench version have been discontinued. I also have a set of Duralast 5 in extensions with built-in LED lights and the batteries died so I took those back to AutoZone as well to see if I could either warranty them out or at least find new batteries there for them once again they had no idea even about the battery and told me to go to a different AutoZone. On the bright side at least I got these items on clearance for under five bucks from a scrap yard so the loss is minimal. On the bright side I don't see the socket versions having the same problem since the teeth can't be pushed through due to the nature of the socket shape but if they are held in with that plastic ring don't expect them to last long that plastic is garbage
Catus you see the powerbuilt zeon sockets they sell at auto parts stores? Also auto zone has extra shallow low profile duralast sockets, those work great and 20$ way cheaper than tool truck stuff.
Do u think this will work for an aluminum tensioner bolt? I stripped the aluminum 19mm bolt to release tension on the serpentine belt of my 03 toyota matrix and need something to release tension and put my belt back on.
Hey Catus, how have these held up for you? I like the design but I wonder about the plastic bit. I wish the manufacturer would have made them a bit more durable. If they hold up even reasonably well I will buy a set. What is your opinion? Thanks.
It's good, i think the wrenches with this design break and fall apart. The sockets are okay but i do not beat them up. I find that if you think a fastener might strip the head i just use these to begin with and avoid that issue.
@@CatusMaximus Thanks. I figure if I only use these for that 1 in a 100 time when nothing else will work, and they do their job, then they will be well worth it. By the way, I have bought a few things based on your reviews, so I do appreciate your opinion. Best wishes from Northern Michigan.
These actually do work pretty well there two piece cam design does Indy grip pretty tightly. These just have a bit thicker profile than normal socket so they may not fit in all situations
They should easily be able to handle that amount of torque, three eighths Drive is rated for around 200 foot pounds of torque so they should be able to easily handle it
