Gary Arvan, chief engineer for General Motors' Duramax diesel engine, highlights what's been changed for the 2011 model year -- plus how those changes can benefit pickup truck owners and operators.
@InfiniteMushroom I agree, Power Stroke is the same way. Look at all that crap in between and atop of the motor. They really need to go with a I6 design too. People are going to go broke trying to maintain these engines, worse when they break down. The Powerstroke too you have to remove the cab to service the turbos or do certain work. Cummin's makes a 4 cylinder baby engine they use in the bread trucks/delivery trucks, not everyone needs excessive power.
it all honesty the maintance with thes new engines is quite easy, the computer tells you when to service it, alot of people i know(im a diesel tech for GM) accully change the oil and fuel filter at 25% remaining
