"The question is can Duramax do the job" Fudge Yeah and more. Quote from the Diesel Bros " Duramax is one of the best, toughest engines ever developed. I've had 2 GMC Denali 2500 HD and love it to death I now have a 2016 with no problems.
True he's a good guy ,driving the heartbeat of America, that Duramax has got so much power available ,it's not even struggling, AC on full-blast, crazy power
I'm still rockin' my 03' Chevy 2500 Quadrasteer... 392,000 miles later and still pullin' RV's and Fords off of Long Beach WA. Good to see good people doing the same... God bless
I had to laugh when he said “I’ll get you to the hard pack”- Everything there looked pretty hard and smooth, no one had thier tires deflated, not even the tow vehicle - and I kept on laughing. I just got back from a trip to the Oregon dunes where we sand camped all over the place. We were pretty novice with hauling our 30 foot trailers onto the really soft sand. First spot lowered all the tires to 25 psi and got stuck. Second spot lowered all the tires to 15 psi and still got stuck. Third spot we talked to some locals and they said if you aren’t going down to 10 or less you might as well not bother. So 10 psi it was, the tires looked really flat but we had no problems at all!!!!! Wish we would of got local advice sooner. We even took my F350 up to the top of the dunes on 10 psi street tires to watch the Coos Bay fireworks on the 4th of July.
from a guy whos gotten stuck before and have had randome people help me out i thank you Eddie badass people like you is why those people got out and had a great time!
good job buddy I wish there was a lot more people like you out there keep up the good work thank you for your support and all the help that you give us
You sir are a gentlemen!!! Love your duramax. I just bought a 2018 quicksilver Denali L5P. Wanted white but needed a 2500 asap. Anyways keep up the great vids !
I drive an F 150 4x4 w 35's, so not a chevy/gmc fan at all. That being said, that's a good Look in truck bro, lifted and level, wheels w a nice offset, and obviously not just for looks. Good lookin out.
@@ismaeltorres2236 we all gotta eat bro, when government motors and Chrysler were almost your favorite used truck, cause that's all you were going to get, thanks god ford not the only choice. All 3 make the other better, remember that, now go spend 80K and enjoy!
This was the video I first found Eddies channel its been two years already Damn. Two years later and popping backup in my recommendations to watch the video again.
Glamis I pulled a duramax hitched to a triple axel toy hauler fully loaded with my v10 excursion and was successful. I used to have more fun driving around pulling ppl out then hitting the dunes even had to pull some one ton Cummings but 2x4 up hill (struggled some but got it done).Nice truck though for sure it better do work hahaha. Stay safe out there. Its always nice to see a helping hand out there.
Lol man you pulled the whole damn rally out of the sand good job brother for helping folks out. Even the embarrassed ones that were too proud to admit they needed help
Wow without effort! That’s the way it’s done. Your very gracious to offer help like that! Back in the late 70’s I would be ready to help anyone. But one bad apple that I tried to help, one time, where I actually got them out on the second try, that after I got them out. I refuse money! That one the first try his tow rope that he had hooked to his rig failed, but his oversized by a wee little bit, ripped right out of my safety chain hole on my HD tow hitch! After HE had set the hook. But when it ripped out, of course flung back to damage his windshield!!?? He at the time was like oh don’t worry about it!! It’s my fault he said! While Still stuck. But I said, “let me hook it back up to my truck and I’ll try again, mind you after the first mishap, I was doubly cautious, by wrapping the rope around the hitch and ball after I hooked it up to the other safety chain spot, plus draped a heavy duty canvas tarp over the rope, just in case. So don’t you know s week later I get served with papers from his lawyer friend, suing ME For DAMAGES! That was for more than his windshield!! Apparently there was a scrape and minor gouge in the hood I never seen, plus his rear view mirror! To the tune of $1,800!!!! Yea that’s what I got for being a nice guy! But at least I was fully insured and handed the summons over to my insurance company, with a sworn affidavit of what had happened, and a couple Polaroids from right after it happened, with empty beer cans all around his stuck vehicle. My lawyer, who is s good friend that I had a retainer with said not to worry. I never heard anything about it. But it just goes to show you how being a nice guy can come back to bite you! Be careful out there! I am now very hesitant to help! Not that I won’t help, but since that, if I don’t know them? My help consist of, ok want me to call someone? Or I’ll write out a short letter and have them sign it. As my lawyer has advised me. That will help them think twice about filing against me and be helpful in a trial, should the need arise. But now there are Good Samaritan laws that protect you when and if you do help or not.
FATBOY LLC yes they are i love the Duramax diesel i just tried to buy a 2016 Gmc sierra 3500 srw Duramax but i didnt have a down payment but i will get one soon
glade to see there's still nice people out there man but just saying iv been offroading for a long time and I see people hook up like you did and they brake under a fairly decent amount of pressure but none the less good job
Eddie's Life one other thing. Gonna be driving on soft sand this summer with duratracs... 15 to 20 lbs for safe driving or lower? First time for me on the sand.
The trailer hitch is a much stronger point to hook a tow strap to than the safety chain attachment points. The old man tried to say so but no one listened.
Where were you when I got my truck stuck at a drive on beach in California? Lol. On my little road trip up the coast I decided to take my new 2018 Silverado with the 6.0L gas 3/4 ton HD had about 9,300 miles on it at the time and so I went on this drive on beach I only made it for a couple minutes before getting stuck and the tide was coming up because it was about 8 PM. Long story short I couldn't get the truck out and being as it was a Saturday night no tow companies wanted to even get on the sand and the only one that does that stuff wasn't answering his phone because he was out of town. So I got a ride back to town by the highway patrol to a hotel and I couldn't get ahold of the tow truck guy until Sunday evening when we finally went to pull it out. Luckily the water never got high enough to get into the cab but the waves left some dents in the side of the truck and my insurance almost totaled it just because it was touched by salt water lol, but I guess they decided seeing as how it's a new truck they said they'd just have everything fixed and replace a bunch of the parts that may be affected by any saltwater. It's in the shop now getting fixed though so hopefully every thing goes smoothly. But yeah, wish someone with a big truck was there willing to help before the water even came up.
It's a good feeling to those in need. I do it all winter in Montana. I put on the chains with cleats and cruise around town looking for people to pull out. It's fun. Sometimes I fire up the 48 1 1/2 ton and chain it up too. It's only rear wheel drive but it's tall with big rig tires,it hooks up good with the chains.
u must drive a ford....so your use to everything week on those trucks but when u have a duramax u dont have to worry about it so go buy a real truck and quit your bitching
You will not do this with the Toyo RT that you are looking at. Bought them at the Les Schwab recomendation and got stuck in the snow and had to be pulled out by an F-150 on BFG ATs. I was so embarrassed!!!! I had to buy a new set of MTs for elk season ( I know you don't do snow) and run the RTs for the Cali summer time and MTs for the winter elk hunts in Montana. I was the VP of the offload club in Iceland (US Navy), we ran both snow and sand and recovered a lot of stuck vehicles for extra cash. Snow and sand traction are very similar. When the RTs are done I will not waste money on them again. MTs baby!!! I run 35s on a 2005 LLY
Jesse Pender dude, I was about to pull the trigger on #4 set of Toyo MT’s at Schwab last month till I noticed my new favorite tire. The MAXXIS RAZR MT’S! $2550 for a set of Toyos mounted on my truck, MAXXIS RAZR MT $1600 mounted. Helluva savings and the fellas at Schwab have nothing but positive reported back on them, since they’re a new tire. Worth looking in to, I will NEVER buy set #5 of the toyos. Don’t get me wrong I love the tire but they don’t last and hot damn they are spendy! Check them out. So far they’re performers.
I'm a Ford guy but honestly my buddy's got a duramax and it's old and works perfect and still goes good down the road . That's quite the truck you have here also. Nice video on humanity ..not to much of that these days. Check out what those guys have on for tires..lmao. Real good for sand...why would you even try to go anywhere with those on?
Me being a true ford fan the only thing that i can garuntee is that a straight piped 6.0 will always sound better than a duramax 5.9 cummins is in between
Matthew Akers Tow balls towing capacity are approximately 2000 lbs. You can easily exceed that during a recovery at which point the ball fails, snaps, and becomes a projectile. That's why it's always advised to lay some type of damper on whatever you're using to pull with, so that if a failure does occur the damper will weigh down the rope to the ground instead of having it sling across the air.
Luis Crespo I have a 2018 GMC Sierra Denali from SCA they lift them and the gmc dealer sells them there so it’s not from a random place where it got lifted and they change stuff in the interior like the dash board is different
Jesse Morales lmao... it’s a dope truck I don’t think that it’s the best in the world... he probably thinks that a Bugatti is the fastest car in the world too
The spot you're hooking to isn't intended to be the main hook up point , I'm sure you realize that though ? Did you build it , or buy it from the lot built ? I've got a '13 Ram 2500 , 6" long arm lift . Ram doesn't offer them built , have to do it ourselves . I love the Rams , but that truck is nice , his job with helping others , Take care !
Love watching old videos of your old truck Eddie. I ended up buying the same truck and deleting it/tricking it out because of you. It’s the dark gray GMC I’ve DM’d you on insta!
A little something I learned from driving on the beach,.... dig the sand out from in front of the wheel, then pour water on the sand in front and let water soak into the sand under the wheel. It turns hard and you generally can just drive out.
It’s a party out there. 👌🏼🍻 Invest in a better strap and some D ring Shackles. I’d hate to see that strap tear and ruin your tail gate or rear window. I’ve seen that to many times. Also maybe buy a hitch with a recovery loop. I’m sure you know Those little rings aren’t meant for pulling that much weight. They’ll bend if you get more aggressive while trying to pull something out. All in all, Good work my Man!
Dude, great video. And helping people like that is just genuine. What's the capacity of that engine (6.6L) ? how about HP/Torque in that DMAX plz ? Because there are so many DMAX out there ! And the sound of the engine is just sexy , screaming and begging for more revving. It's like listening to Bach/Mozart :)
Guarantee your truck would have pulled both those last two rigs WITH trailers hooked. Ps......don’t ever be afraid to offer help when you see fellas struggling. Most will welcome it, unless they’re a complete D bag, and they’re out there. Very nice of you to rescue those guys.
