Don't give up Hope . I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer three years ago and not expected to live out the summer of 2020 . As of last week and seemingly a million needles and lonely hospitals . All three of my brain tumors have vanished without a trace . Believe in The Lord . My prayers are with Andy. .Also . St Peregrine ,Patron Saint of Cancer . Pray for Andy Taylor . In Jesus s name . Amen

That was a lovely and very heart-felt statement by Simon. You could tell it was genuine and that he deeply cares for Andy. This is (yet another) reason why DD are the best band in history.
I thought he was going to cry, and you could tell he was fighting back the tears. When he read the note, right before he read the diagnosis, he almost broke down. Looks like John was close to breaking down.
Ellos destrozaron a Andy, ellos no aman a Andy, menos Simón quién lo despreciaba al igual que John. El único que se mantuvo al margen siempre fue Roger y de alguna manera Nick. Todo lo demás es falso e hipócrita.
So glad that our guys that we love so much were inducted last night and devastated that Andy Taylor is sick and unfortunately not there but he is alive now to receive this honor. I love Simon for calling Andy his brother, his mate, and family. These 5 guys are brothers and for them to make peace with Andy just makes me love them so much more ❤️ 💕 💗 💖. God bless them ❤️
in my memory i want to remember the hug between simon and andy when the sing blue silver tour ended a sincere and happy hug of two guys who had touched the sky
Yes, I was thinking that. They were also hugging John and they were wondering what they were going to do with themselves now the tour was over. Andy shouts "We'll have to spend more time in nightclubs, yes that's the answer!". I love that scene, together with the whole film, I watched it so many times as a teenager.
This is like a gut punch to me, a loyal die hard Durannie scince I was 16 (I'm 55 now). What should have been the biggest night of their lives is tempered by this devastating news. Yet they handled it with grace, dignity, and class. It's a good thing that DD was inducted into the RRHOF while Andy is still with us and is able to see the band get such a high honor. I am "Saving a Prayer" for him and sending him love and good wishes. WE LOVE YOU ANDY! FAB FIVE FOREVER!❤🙏🎶🎸
Andy Taylor does a lot for undiscovered bands, people don't really know that, many don't know about his great production skills and his solo work. He gave DD an edge, which they quickly lost without him but glad they remained friends. Best of luck Andy if you're reading.
Duran Duran will always be John, Nick, Roger, Andy and Simon. Despite those who leave, join and come back again, those guys will forever be the Fab Five. Blessings to dear Andy.
Absolutely heartbreaking to hear about Andy Taylor. So glad my favorite band is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is long overdue and well deserved.
Your favorites are a Pop boy band, not a rock group. You must love their highly skilled member's heavy drums, distorted guitars and awesome soaring solos. Or was it the flat harmonies, fruity haircuts and 'New Wave' fashions? Every time they opened for real rockers they were booed off stage
I woke up to this news today. I was so excited to check the internet and read the news about the event last night, and then my heart sank. What? How could this be? This was supposed to be the happiest day in the life of the band and their fans! How can I go from top of the mountain to the pit of despair in 2.5 seconds? I can't imagine the mix of emotions my boys must have been feeling. I mean, they didn't even have time to process this news properly before this show! Im so enormously proud of my boys, and so proud of and grateful to my fellow Duranies. We worked our tails off on that fan vote and got our boys inducted in time for Andy to enjoy it, even if he couldn't attend. I'm so happy that I got to see Andy perform in person with Duran in a small NOLA club in 2003. I have seen them 14 times but that's the ONLY time I saw Andy. I mean, it's both an amazing and a sh1tty end to a phenomenal year. But I guess that's life, isn't it? Andy, Tracey, and the kids and grand baby are in my thoughts, as are his four brothers in music.
My heart sank too 😪💔 Been a Duranie since I was 12. I'm 51 now. I'm devastated along with all of my Duranie family and the band. I got to see Andy with Power Station for my 14th birthday. It was an amazing experience. I was so close to the stage on my Dad's shoulders. I got a very close view of Andy jamming out. Looking and sounding amazing in his own world. I will never forget that moment.❤
My husband I were there when they read the statement that night and we both cried our eyes out.. I'm so proud of my band and we love Andy has and will always be part of our Duran Duran Forever ❤️
Andy's Rock guitar played a big part in Duran Duran's well deserved success. Always saw him as very much his own man, and kudos to him for still being with Tracey after 40 years.
I think all of us who have been Duranies for decades are just stunned at the news regarding Andy Taylor. This night should have been the pinnacle of their careers yet turned into a bittersweet moment for them.
A night that was supposed to be pure celebration for Duran Duran and all their fans was tempered by the news about Andy. I was shocked at first and now I'm sad. And, to be honest, I'm pretty mad too. F*ck cancer.
I agree all the way. I've lost too many to cancer and wish with all my heart cancer would get cancer and die. You could hear the sharp intake of breath around the world when Simon read Andy's letter. My heart went out to all of them even as I celebrated we'd finally gotten them in to the RRHOF under their own merits.
Poor Andy, Hang in there, Andy! My father had prostate cancer, stage five. Catching it is just so important. I have known people who were completely cured with surgery, so have faith! Dear DD, we fans are soooo proud of you, our boys! ❤
@@RavensGohst OMG, I just looked at that on Google, and you're right. I can't believe it. My dad's doctor must have been trying to spare our feelings or something, because he also said it had not spread outside the prostate. Clearly it had. I feel guilty, because I was worried and insisted that he get the PSA test. Maybe if there was nothing they could It would have been better not to know. Anyone would prefer not to know, and yes, the treatment alone is hell. I'm praying for you, and thinking of you! Love, and God Bless! ❤️
We are all praying for Andy. Wish him a full and speedy recovery. Duran Duran is a special band primarily because they are great friends who look after one another and give each other their space and freedom. Even if Andy is no longer in the band, they share a bond that goes beyond egos or any kind of business associations. I take a bow to this group. Very few bands are like this.
It is heartbreaking and joyful all at once. I'm so over the top ecstatic that we prevailed and got DD rightfully inducted into the RRHOF, happy that Andy had planned RIGHTFULLY to be there (but also sad Warren didn't attend either even tho he'd been asked and should have been). I appreciate that Simon and the boys chose to give Andy the spotlight for a moment, to not only read the sweetest AND hardest parts of Andy's letter out loud before their own acceptance speeches. Roger's smile was electric! I do wish Nick had said something, but it was easy to see they were all go smacked, period. Duran Duran forever!! 🎉♥️🍾🎼🎶🎉
I am so heartbroken over this and I hope the guys will be allowed time to process these news without the media prying on how they feel. It's a massive blow for them, and I hope they know that they are all in our duranies hearts and prayers, Andy and his family especially so.
I loved this band as a teenager i had posters of them all over my walls im 51 now and am devestated by the news of Andy Taylor i check the internet every couple of days for updates i love these guys iv started to listen to their music again lately memories flooding back time goes by so quickly but Duran Duran always have a place in heart and memory all the best Andy Taylor with your journey❤
I am heart broken at the new of Andy cancer, it was a dark spot on a wonderful night. I am happy the band showed up performed, they are so over due for this award and I am happy that Andy is alive to watch and share this award with the Band I want this night to celabrate Duran Duran and their music, and for them to see the love from us the fans
I am so sad to hear of Andy’s illness. I wish he could have been on stage with them where he rightfully belonged. I am happy that he is still alive to see himself and the band inducted into the Hall of Fame though. They absolutely deserve it. I used to catch some flack as a teenager from some other kids for loving Duran Duran, but I used to tell them to just listen to the music. That’s all they had to do. Yeah they were cute and made slick videos, but the music was their true strength and still is. To this day I still jam to The Reflex or Planet Earth and my kids know who Duran Duran is because I told them. My heart goes out to Andy and his family. We love all you guys and I can’t wait to see the induction. Stay strong Andy and you will be in thoughts and prayers.
If anyone wants to check out stuff Andy did outside of DD, check out The Power Station's cover of Harvest for the World in which he actually sang on it in addition to guitar.
Even if I play bass, the reason I started to play was Andy's energy and passion on stage!!! my biggest influence as a live performer!!! Thank you, Andy!!! hang in there!!! You're gonna make it!!!!
I really wish Roger would stand closer to his band mates, he has a way of standing apart from them when they are talking. He is just as important as the rest of them, and deserves the same attention. They tend to talk over him too. Get in there Roger, and let your voice be heard too!
@@philipmcfarlane If he wasn't comfortable with the limelight, he shouldn't have returned to the group and music business. He left the band in 1985 for 15 years. I always wondered the reason why he came back.
@@stephanieyoung4378 The 2 aren't synonymous. He loves what he does and left after being subjected to the type of madness that the Beatles experienced at the height of their fan mania. He can quite happily be back with the group and leave the others to front the media side of things. It's his choice to stand back which was what the OP was highlighting.
@@stephanieyoung4378because he loves music and performing and his mates - fame and limelight isn’t the driver for everyone. Nick doesn’t always say a lot either.
All love to Andy Taylor. Andy was such a big part of my youth. Love Duran Duran, love PowerStation even more. Just a wonderful guy, so glad he was able to see the award and hope he feels the outpouring of love because he deserves it.
Blessings and Love 💗 to Andy and the Brothers of Duran Duran 😘🎸🎼🌈 Here’s to hoping that life is kind to this Rock Legend 🌅 Thanks so much for sharing 💎
Such a shock to hear about Andy Taylor. My thoughts are with Andy and his family. So heartbreaking 💔I am so glad they got the recognition they have always deserved.
So sorry to hear about John's cancer! I've been a Duranie for many years, but I'm also very proud that they were inducted into the hall of Fame on my birthday, Nov.5! Love you, Duran boys!❤️
Yeah, kind of like TV people who stick a microphone nto the face of someone who's just suffered a devastating loss and say "Tell me how you feel right now."
Journalists need to learn when to leave certain topics alone. This is in really poor taste to ask them something like that. "How does it feel to read a letter from your friend who is dying of Cancer?" Get a fu**in' clue! How about "Congratulations on your induction" and leave it at that??
WHEN NILE ROGERS WAS REVIEWING ANDYS FRESH GUITAR JAMS,HE COULD'NT USE A GOOD PORTION OF IT, DUE TO THE FACT THAT NILE WANTED THE BOYS TO FOLLOW UP "SEVEN AND THE RAGGED TIGER" WITH SOME "JAMES BROWN"FUNK & "CHIC" ELOQUENCE,BUT ANDY TAYLOR HAD OTHER PLANS,HE WAS IN FULL BLOOM,HE SHOWED UP TO THAT STUDIO WITH AX IN HAND,THEN PROCEEDED TO UNLEASH PURE,HARD ,UNABASHED THUNDER!
well if this doesn't just leak pretentiousness, nothing else does. college, i mean family. and not even a rock & roll band, rock and roll is dead, sorry. more like a diversity induction
