CDEbFGAbB Yeah, it's been so heavily post-produced that you'd have a hard time calling it a proper live album. But it's a brilliant album of alternative cuts.
Olli Booms At a Music Fair in my city where people from lots of countries came to sell album rarities I could buy another Arena album. I can hear the differences between the two Arenas.
I agree. Arcadia - my all-time fave album. ARENA is 20th. my band is looking for a producer of our 1st album. contact me at facebook: Dondon Mollaneda.
I literally can’t get over this performance of em,they ate and devoured it👏Simon,Rog,Andy,John,Nick, backing vocals, and backing dancers, they absolutely ate,I really can’t get over my loves, I love New Religion sm,and they never disappoint💘💘
There's an urgency to come back to this fantastic era.
OMG this was and still is my favorite DD song. The Bass line is just to hard to explain how F***ING Amazing it is. One of the many reasons John Taylor is my favorite band member and still to this day Duran Duran is one of my very most favorite bands in the whole world.I have been a fan a true Duranie sense 1980 love you guys xoxox! And can't wait till you guys start touring this year in LA 2011...
I love New Religion bc it showcases each member's talents to the utmost. I always wanted to go to the Arena tour, but my mother wouldn't let me. I was too young. It's all good- I saw D2 in '05. It was the best show I've ever seen. These gents age like fine wine- so sweet!
great song, the DD dark side, great bass line as usual and cryptic non-sense (but only apparently) lyrics. excerpt from "as the lights go down", greatest DD live performance ever. now i'm 38yrs old, still love them as 20 yrs (and counting) ago. thanks for posting.
I love this song it was and still is awesome took me forever to learn all the lyrics so I could sing it with him when ever I played it but I loved it I went to see them perform it at the time in 1984 it was for my 18th Bday and it was suberbly fantastico
I love how he drops the tambourines 1:15. Lmao every time I see vids of this song live he does something different with the tambourines. But this has to be the best one.
@sharinedemarchenar69 I have to agree. And they've proven it a lot since then. There are other live versions of this song, even here on youtube, that don't have near as much stuff going on around them; and they STILL rock!
@ScrittiSparkle, this track will be included on the 3 disc version of the album Seven And The Ragged Tiger. Album is remastered, and the live special was called As The Lights Go Down.
que canción más bonita,me encanta,la escucho una y otra vez, esta versión es simplemente estupenda, y pensar que muchas personas viven escuchando la basura del regueton y otros horrores similares
@Gina97xls i reckon duran duran at theri creative peak was with Rio...and Duran Duran album was fucking a close second but both outstanding and timeless...without doubt, one of the greatest pop music bands in the last 30 years. I would add, duran duran are one of the brest live bands in the world presently - saw them 7 times.
Each time I watch this video clip of Duran Duran, when I'm not feeling myself, I get palpitations, it makes me feel dizzy because of the threatening and invisible message of this song. '' I can't help myself it's a new religion '' seems to be a worrisome declaration scaring me. It emerges that, behind the magical and dark atmosphere, there is an audacious invitation to join the '' New Religion '' which could refer to the cult of Satan (the last picture of Simon's back is a striking clue among all others resemblances during the show). The imagery sheds light on the struggle between the submission for some occult powers and the desire to relentlessly preserve a piece of our soul intact. Something seems to have erupted in Simon's eyes, almost under possession. It looks like a capital punishment at least and once more they came in their thousands to celebrate Lucifer without their knowing...
Sure Duran Duran has a lot of haters, but there is no denying they put on a damn good show during their heyday. JT came up with some funky bass lines, he's second to Mark King from Level 42, and the shit worked.
Very bad quality is over the top, But if you look at music video from Reflex where it was filmed that is crystal clear......This was released on VHS + Betamax + was clear picture obviously when it came out but this has been watched thousands of times so whoever uploaded this is their copy of it
only my two cents...this band does not need all this stuff going on around them, especially this song, amazing song. Doesn't need all the dancers and stuff....just saying. They got talent...lots!!!
I also have been following DD since 1980 and have been to many live shows...... They have come too far...They can't stop!!! they are another OAP band.... ...move over and give the younger generation a shot! !!
