Brill. I honestly think Duran should do a cover album of Bowies songs including Diamond Dogs, Rebel Rebel, Boys Keep Swinging, Starman and as many others they can put onto a CD. I for one would buy it. Simon sings Bowie so very well :)
I would love to see Duran Duran to Golden Years golden years oh my gosh they came close to that when they did is there something I should know Golden Years the same sound actually
Wow! It's like a dream come true. One of my favorite bands playing my favorite song and doing an amazing job on it, which I didn't even think was possible.
When I was a teenager, stars didnt come to my country. We went to the House of the only one WHO had a VIDEO PLAYER and watched silently As the lights go down. We would never imagine that there would be a concert of ours in a video like this. And now look.... it's from my city, I want to cryyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Love from Greece my dear band since 1983, love you ♥
Your cover of "Starman" is giving me comfort. If David Bowie never made music, would Duran Duran have existed? Rest in peace, Starman, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Halloween Jack, and the Thin White Duke.
they would, but not as we know them - you have to include Roxy Music as key infleucnes and of course Kraftewerk, and New York DOlls, and a plethora of otehrs. But Bowie was prmiary influence.
Bowie along with Roxy Music which was an even a BIGGER influence on Duran Duran. Their early work took the sound and look of Roxy Music with a splash of Punk and disco.
@@johndesalvo27 no David Bowie was the biggest influence Roxy Music was definitely a big influence on Duran Duran but not as big as but we they even said they wanted to look like Bowie and dress like him and talk like him
Can't believe I'm just now seeing this. After David's passing this is so much more poignant and touching. Would love to see this incorporated on the upcoming US tour somehow.
Milly Rosario You are right...to a point. However, Roxy Music lead by singer/songwriter Bryan Ferry (Bowie's Contemporary in the early - mid 70's emerging Glam scene (according to the band themselves) was without a doubt their single BIGGEST influence!
@@johndesalvo27 actually Bowie was their biggest influence David Bowie Roxy Music was definitely their second biggest influence they played a big role but Bowie was by far the biggest influence
@@mariobecchi6566 yes that's true but David Bowie was their biggest influence out of everybody I've seen a documentary on it he was like there they said who is your biggest influence like like your main influence and they said David Bowie even wanted to dress like him and be him
Pretty good, I don't discuss, right. Maybe the best cover I've been listenin' to. 'Til now eh... what the future will give the world it's unwritten. Maybe nothing better... or...
duran duran/david bowie. nice duran duran day present! wonder if anyone in the front rows of the show actually knew the song :P duran fans should always have a solid base of bowie knowledge.
I wish Duran would do another cover album. However, the first cover album didn't go that well so no wonder they're not going down that road again!. Good version of this Bowie track...
