The Durangos were never built with fuel economy in mind. Even the first generation only got about 15 mpg, and they only had 250 HP on the top end I'm surprised it didn't go down _faster_ 😂
@@car_enthusiast1992 the Durango can easily spin even if you use launch control. Chances are they didn’t have the right tires on. The reason I say it’s a Durango is the cluster with the half circle speedometer. At least I haven’t seen that in alot of other vehicles so far
Almost 180 in that thing if it's at full factory weight is pretty nutty though. If you've been fast fast in a small car and uncomfortable speeds in a larger vehicle, 180 in a Durango would be a bit white knuckled 🤣
Not really for “show”, designed to stay in the power band. You want short gears for like the first 4-5 depending on what type of modern transmission you have.
I thought I commented before but in track mode it won’t use 8th gear. You should be able to shift into 8th and get past that rpm limiter speed you hit here in 7th. Great video!!!!
@@ARDEN440i realistically it was about topped out and is likely drag limited around 180 (maybe 1 or 2 mph over that) but it’s out of gear here and simply won’t go any faster in 7th. There is a chance 8th is too long to accelerate but no one knows.
Wahhhh mileage mileage mileage,, if you own a vehicle like this and are worried about fuel mileage,,, you shouldn’t be owning it… we who own them don’t care!
@@75sRax maybe, but yet again these mpg calculators work differently. But considering the fact that this is a 5,700 lb suv with 710hp, you should expect it to use more than a full gallon from a top speed run like this.

Damn! there isnt a sports car with under 550 hp that can keep pace with this until after 120. Thia 5500 lb barge will beat a new 20'+ GT500 in the 1/4. Ford has the GT exotic that can barely beat this to 60 or in the 1/4, now granted the GT will be ghree bus lengths ahead by the 1/4, is on thing.
