I just found it out this game when it was put on sale in nintendo shop. I can’t believe i got hooked easily and finished the game quick. Im glad that the sequel will come out next month for switch.

I beat this game not too long ago; it was entertaining. Enjoyable combat system. While the story wasn't anything new, I mean the genre as a whole; it was passable.
Glad to have come across this review. The demo footage made the game look slow and awkward. Seeing that things escalate in speed and a bit of variety is nice. Despite it being a shorter game than I'm used to, I'll still be checking it out.
2:25 Le Viada sure has an arsenal of guns. But for real, I had this game on my radar for a while now, it's nice to see that it actually might be worth getting.

I remember when i first saw the trailer for this game, I was like I got to have it it looks so cool but i was low on funds once it came out so it been something i been wanting to get for a while. I love the character designs, the open world feel that reminds me of persona or akiba's strip, and the combat while simple still looks pretty cool. I still having a hard deciding whether to get this now or wait for it to be discounted because i only have enough for one game but your review did help think more and get excited about. Sorry about the super long explanation 😅
Just picked up the collectors edition at Retro shop on the weekend. Yes Retro shops sell new games too, And often have better Switch titles for sale too.

How would you rate the difficulty for this game? I found out about it through Hallowed Be Thy Game and then found your review!!! It looks really cool despite some low budget flaws. Was my first pre-order for Switch. After two weeks the day one edition is half the price I gave, and I ain't even mad, game is fun, sure it has it's downs here and there but it's fun to play, worth the 40€ I gave, now is like 20€ or something.
Definitely interested. I'm gonna wait if only because black Friday/cyber monday is coming and there's a chance it might go on sale. If it doesn't I might still pick it up anyway!

It's kind of weird to me the amount of people who play this in Japanese over English thinking it's the "original" voices, even though it's set in Taiwan and made by Taiwanese developers and has a Chinese language option.
I used to go to ximending every week to play pinball since it was the only place in the whole of taipei that had a pinball table. I fuckin hated living in taiwan so I never picked this up. It's been 5 years though, so I might have recuperated enough to enjoy a nostalgia trip...
i got the day one release version on sale at game stop and started playing a bit of it. definitely feels like something i'd pick up or played before which i like. the theme for ximending also reminded me of shibuya's theme from tokyo mirage sessions
this game is actually developed in Taiwan. So, my question is, does the US version include Chinese voice over and subtitles option just like the Japanese version?
Got it today on sale on the PlayStation market place got 9 dollars I had to buy. After beating smt3 nocturne and tales of arise I been contemplating what to play next
Will probably decide to get this along with one or two other games when i go out with my family to pick out Christmas presents in a few days (it's just easier if we go with each other to pick out what we want lol). At the moment there's really only 3 games that i've been considering: this, Atelier Ryza, and Utawaremono Zan (there was also Star Ocean the first departure R but it's digital only unfortunately so i'll just get my sister to buy me enough Eshop points to buy it i guess...prefer physical though, might get my Bro to grab one of these 3 and then the last 2 can pretty much be from mom and dad). These few are really the only games that hold my interest at the moment since i already bought the games i really wanted earlier in the year (Code Vein, Astral Chain, and most hyped of all Cold Steel 3, still need to beat all 3 of these...will probably aim to at least beat CS3 before Christmas....already on second to last chapter so should be doable). Now besides that one main concern i have about Dusk Diver however is the simple fact that after watching many reviews there's one thing that's been consistent in all of them: the enemies are just way too passive and don't attack nearly as much as they should...i'm hoping this is a lower difficulty thing and not just the way their programmed or everyone's just been showing off early enemies that are more passive than later ones to avoid spoilers but if enemies are always like this than i'll likely get kinda bored quickly if the enemies wind up being a cakewalk.
For those who are interested: surnames being in front of given names doesn't just occur in Japanese, but also Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese names. With that being said, "Yang" is most likely a Chinese surname (羊, 楊, etc. although technically it could be Korean 양 too, but, you know, Taiwanese game). Since the "-ng" sound is no longer present in the Japanese language and they turned "yang" into "you" (ヨウ, which sounds like "yō" ヨー), the surname cannot be Japanese As for whether or not I wanna' buy the game, I'm still on the fence. I'm wondering about its replayability/replay value, especially since it seems to be such a short game
what kills it for me is the shard collecting you need to progress and to do that you need to 100 persent levels on hard with a s rank or not be able to play more of the game.
@@TheGamingShelf yeah you're right. Pretty enjoyable...the combat system has hidden depth, and the mix of genres is put to good use. Can't beat it for 3 bucks!

I know I'm late to the conversation, but I really don't see where the praise for this game comes from. The whole thing is repetitive. From the boring action combat to the like 8 enemy types to the tiny and lifeless city streets. This is probably one of the worst games I've ever played.
Hard pass for me. After Fate/EXTELLA and the Senran Kagura games, I've realized I hate reading subtitles, especially when there is talking during action parts.
