This is a great innovation. Linking two completely different gaming worlds from completely different gaming "systems" and directly integrating them with each other. So just out of curiosity, has there been another attempt at something very similar to this before? Sounds like a huge undertaking to find a perfect balance for both the Dust 514 player and the Eve Online player, whilst giving them both a good amount of fun.

Oh yes it's gonna be awesome for both playerbases. Go look up the videos for this year's Fanfest. The big one to see is the Dust Keynote but they also have several other Dust presentations too. They should all be on CCP's channel

Go see the various Dust presentation videos from this year's fanfest on CCP's channel. For the keynote they showed off some of the Dust's interface. Seemed to work pretty well with a gamepad if you ask me.

My guess is that when there is a hull breach, air vents into space and catches fire with the surrounding explosions.

Active booster will boost your SP when you play. Passive will gain your SP when you're not playing (only small amounts though). If you have to choose between one or the other go with the active.

It's not, there will however be a companion app that you can use to play with suit and vehicle fittings and other stuff.

This is awesome. These guys release a trailer that explains how players respawn in multiplayer! And the way they do it is fucking badass! That's it, this game is a must have for me! I'd pay money for this. A lot of money...

Dust 514 is bigger than you think. Big space battles in space and wars on the ground. No fps has done this and so far Dust 514 was a success. CCP will continue to improve the game step by step :)

I think the problem here is that sholmesbrown is referring to Dust as a part of EVE. His response was to a guy asking if it was going to be on vita, and "it" has to have been Dust since that's what this video is titled for (even if the trailer is a all encompassing trailer for EVE and Dust).

"If I am able to use my ps3" I've seen his type before, they talk about how they are not fanboys, how they got all 3 consoles, and then they make a sarcastic hidden message like that one, I might be wrong, although I'm probably not, even if he ends up replying saying that he meant his ps3 broke. pff right like that's even possible.

I'd also like to point out that Dust is it's own stand alone game for PS3. It's only connected to EVE and is part of the same universe, but it isn't EVE or an EVE expansion. Dust and EVE can still be played without interaction between each other. (Rogue drone survival mode anyone? =D (Source: "CCP Presents!" presentation from this year's fanfest))

I'd like to confirm it is def free to play and PS3 exclusive....for now. Look for Hilmar's (CCP's CEO) interview at GDC, he hints at a PC version pointing out that they already were planning on putting mouse and keyboard support into the PS3 version teasing us with a "I wonder why we did that?" xD

i think more along the lines of MAG (cuz of the skill tree, size of the maps they want at release is 32v32. and objective game style), BF3 (the ammo kits and health kits, plus they want to try and make the enviroment destructable) and Halo (shields, one of the tanks GREATLY similar to halo and though futuristic weapons that still use bullets)

The fact that you are effecting something at all. It's a revolutionary concept. If you play a BF3 game or a CoD game your influence ends at the end of the match, not in Dust. What you do matters to a greater purpose besides just a plotline. "One shot can change the course of history, and you're going to be the one that takes it." They weren't kidding.

In the EVE books, it shows that you don't need to be in a capsule. People jump into burning lava just to transport to their next clone etc.

CCP doesn't want to cut into their existing player base and market. But they are also one of the few companies that might actually do something based on popular demand. They already hinted at a PC version.
