Hi Matt. Good idea using the plastic pipe and its exactly where its needed. It will save a lot of dust landing on the lower wheel like conventional methods. Tony
That 1.3 TPI blade looks positively frightening ! Nice restoration Matt. There's not much in the way of used equipment where we are, I'd love to refurb. a bandsaw. We used to refurb. machine tools as part of my apprenticeship decade ago - so enjoyable.
You could easily improve on that dust collection. First thing is to get a bigger hose, ideally around 40mm ID for easy connection to the pipe. I use a rather ridgid hose one for pools/ponds. Second is that you need some more holes in the plate around the blade. To get som more airflow.
You dont know how much dust didn't get collected , so how can you claim you could improve it ? Drilling holes into a cast iron table around the blade slot ? Realy ?? I doubt much sawdust is queueing up by the hose adaptor, no doubt you will publish a video showing how its done ...... Publish your work like Matt, or stick to designing by sofa
Have people been moaning about too many bandsaw videos?! No need to apologise to me I've thoroughly enjoyed all these bandsaw restoration videos and hope it proves reliable for you
Nice fix to a dusty problem, mate 👍🏽 And an equally as nice retune of the fixings for the pipe. 👌🏽 Can't wait to see what your next project is working with this beast!
