My son likes his DP15SS. He is only 7, but it fits him perfectly. He plays 2 in the pinky and is a 2B on his travel team. He does however revert to his Rawlings Encore 11.5 if the ground is wet since he thinks the wilson gets a little slick (He carries both around with him). It might be in his head but whatever makes him more confident in the field.
DP15 is a glove i would use at 2nd if i could but i have bigger hands. Perfect for my dads hands, i like how he breaks it in, and how his glove lets people who have smaller handsizes that cant wear bigger gloves wear a comfy glove but at the same time have the length. It’s a great glove for the smaller guys out there. For some guy they aren’t really that small they just have tiny hands lol Super glad to hear you’ll be a member soon bro!
I've used the same A2000 DP15 for nearly five years now. It's broken in pretty much as Pedey broke his in, with just the odd little tweaks because every glove is different. I'm very short and don't have the biggest of hands (my fingers are proper short). Gloves like this and Rawlings' 31 pattern are great for when your hand doesn't fit the whole way in with the wrist and palm still sticking out like it should. I typically play up the middle like my hero and model my style defensively and even offensively like him as it's a way of keeping up with guys who are twice my size. Thanks for showing how the Lazershow did it and partly how he was able to be such a good defender. I miss him from the Sox line-up every game.
great video! the dp15 is great. Do you ever plan on doing single hinge glove break in like the np5 or something? I know you did the machado video but a more in depth video might be helpful
Make a vid on the Wilson 2800. Till this day this glove is a mystery to me. It’s 12 inches. I don’t understand why a pro would want so small of a glove at first. So many pros use it too.
I’m wondering when they’re going to actually design a glove for the way most people wear it. Get rid of, at least, the index finger and make the pocket wider. Maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn’t, but a glove with just a thumb and one, two or three fingers might be cool. Imagine a glove with basically a thumb on each side and no fingers. As well, if you can fit two in the ring finger (ring and middle fingers) rather than two in the pinky, your hand goes into the glove deeper for better control.
You should try wearing an infield model 2 in the pinky 1 in middle finger and one in the pointer finger that’s how I wear my infield glove it has a perfect pocket
