That’s a fighter that is a veteran in the game. Same thing with Mcgregor.. he had no reason to come back, why did he? He is a fighter. It’s all about legacy. He has everything he could ever want.. glad both mean gave us a great fight. People have to realize Conor won the first round easily. Probably could have finished him. He didn’t and DP came back and put it on him. Great fight to watch between two ring warriors
Congratulations to Dustin. It really felt as if the whole world was counting him out, but he showed up big in there, even taking some hard shots by Conor. Still came out on top. Nothing but respect for him.
True. I wanted Dustin to win but felt Conor could win and he looked good round 1 but I also hated how everyone just dismissed Poirier coz of their 1st fight. They forgot that Dustin went through the LW division and fought the best.
@@elementop6847 Actually he was winning both rounds until Dustin started catching him and KO'd him... as he said can't afford so much inactivity in this business and he's just getting back into it. Not over. You people are always wrong man lmao I correct you guys when you overhype him and then you say its over after one loss and I correct you again :D
Y’all are trippin. End of an era? Dustin and Conor are the fucking same age LMAO. Conor lost and he is in his prime. Poirier won fair and square. Don’t get me wrong Conor definitely can come back and still be one of the best but come on guys. Wake up there is no age difference no end of an era. Dustin simply has improved a tremendous amount. All I’m saying is y’all Conor fans are sucking him the fuck up and believing in all the shenanigans. Thinking of some excuse saying he won the rounds is a lie. He won the first round but he was not winning that second round. He was losing the whole second round and you could see it written on his face. As soon as the second round started I saw the look in their eyes and one was defeated the other was fresh. Dustin had it won at the end of that first round just based on his performance he how he ate the shots. I knew it was either a finish from Dustin and or a complete domination with a unanimous decision victory.
His honesty is legit, when he says oh he hurt me with that left, and if he had followed up i would have been in real trouble, i got nothing but respect for him,he's in top lightweight position now.
Dude I literally paused the video to make this same comment then read yours. Have so much respect for this dude he doesn’t flex bs or act like a complete cocky bad ass even though he earned that right.
Dustin signed a new 8 fight contract before this fight, fighters should sign short fight contracts in order to get paid more after big wins... I hope he gets paid big though, all fighters should...
@@alcottdevalte7440 Fortunately for Dustin many fighters renegotiate there fight contracts after creating leverage ....Nate, Conor, Masvidal and Jones to name a few . Fingers crossed Dustin gets a few million in the bank fighting his last few fights
@@johnnywaynesheppard2838 so how much did you lose ? Dont tell me you lost your house over this lol cuz mctapper groupies were saying that shiet before the fight that they were gonna bet their houses ( read their parents houses since they still live in their parents basement ) 🤣🤣🤣
Dustin really showed heart after losing and showing humility coming back and making a statement! He’s a definite dog! If your not a fan of The diamond your just a hater it life
Poirer has big star written all over him. Good looking guy (NHmo) class act, has a funny dry sense of humor, immense talent and standup fighter. He's got all the ingredients
@@francesco00167 Khabib literally went to wrestling second he started feeling those calf kicks. Have you even watched Khabib fighting or you just sinping lol
“I felt his presence less. I felt his aura less. I was against another fighter. Another man who bleeds just like me.” Biggest change I noticed too. This is the first time Conor looked human to me.
Yeah but even against Khabib, he seemed like a god who happened to be fucking up. This time he looked devoid of that godly air. He was flesh and blood. Maybe his family brought him down to Earth. In any event - only my perceptions.
Conor need the part of mindgames against his opponents. The headgames really help him both to act more confident and to weaken opponents menatlly before and during the fight. I'm surprised how little they talk about how Conors previous mindgames are a part of his arsenal, and how when he doesn't use them he has a huge disadvantage.
Dustin sounds looks a cool and down to earth guy, not only in this interview but throughout the whole build up to the fight. Hello and well done from Ireland. Make the trilogy happen!
In a weird way this is almost poetic, Conor achieved everything he ever wanted to for his family and secured them for life. With Dustin's win last night he's just opened that door for himself ! God bless he deserves it
Exactly what I was thinking, at first I was really upset that one of my favourite fighters got KOed for the first time, then I thought about how much of a good guy Dustin is and what a dog of a fighter he is and I was actually quite happy with the result. Especially with what you said about Conor having already secured a future for his family. It’s the Diamonds time to shine now!
Conor M. Verified Reviewer 4.0 star rating HEAT PREFERENCE: Medium Kicks your leg and knocks you out Review by Conor M. on 24 Jan 2021review stating Kicks your leg and knocks you out You know what they say: styles make sauces. It's not that I don't have the style to handle the heat but this sauce took out me leg. Fair play to Dustin. He's a great sauce maker. It hit me right in the muscle. There wasn't a mark on me face but me leg was gone. Hats off to him for such a great sauce.
@@bundleofhumble3119 and it’s good. I’m from Louisiana, bout an hour from Lafayette, Dustins hot sauce is sold in all stores here, and it’s good. I’m not big on hot sauce, but his is good. Gotta think, Tobasco is made here as well, and to have a competition sauce that does well is awesome.
@@SickestDisciple i Just hate that i pay 30 dollars for a 12 dollar bottle Just for shipping. And someone said that the Canola oil should be replaced by another oil cause it is bad for your health, but idk about that. The reviews on the Sauce really crack me up. " It had a kick to it "
The clavicle, or collarbone, is a slender, S-shaped bone approximately 6 inches (15 cm) long bone that serves as a strut between the shoulder blade and the sternum (breastbone). There are two clavicles, one on the left and one on the right. lol
Makes me happy being from Lafayette that he’s doing what he’s doing thanks dude for being a real stand up display of what we about down here in south La. 🍻
Those calf kicks were great, he was also using his phenomenal check hook really well, especially as Conor was pulling back on his 1-2s. I won't underestimate Poirier anymore
It surprised and stunned Conor the first check left hook. He goes to pull back and gets clipped. He stopped and was like WTF was that. He never thought he was in range to get countered. He has probably never been caught by that strike before. Poirier had his timing fast tonight.
Congrats!! So humble and so brutally honest! Can’t hate this man whatsoever. Do it for yourself and your family. Do it for your community. He has the True Champion Mentality. Rooting for this guy to win it all!!
@@fernandosoto3641 It's a school of thought that proposes there really is no opponent, its you v you. If you can master your own strengths and weaknesses then you become the best. We are our own worst enemies.
Oddly it's kinda a Conor standard to be able to do that. He was kinda the first noticeable in my fandom at least who said pay me or I'll step away and do X who really truly did and then just came back when the money was right. Granted when you're the guy with the top 4 highest PPVs in company history they'll let ya do that.
Why is Conor trying to muscle through people ever since the Mayweather.. he has become tooo flat footed The footwork against Jose and today seems like two different person
It’s cause it is, he fights more like a boxer now because Conor is in control of his own training camp and gets to tell people how he’s gunna train. Instead of having a coach go yo fucker focus on MMA it’s already hard enough you don’t need to split your focus on a different fuckin sport. Or he’s just old
What a honest, down to earth bloke. Admitting that a left punch rocked him was sooo real. He knows what he's got deep down in his own heart to be able to show this side of himself. Respect.
Congratulations Dustin! A true gentleman! A lot of respect to Conor. It's easy to kick a man when he is down but he changed the game for ever, for the better. If he wants to come back, he should go back to how he was when he was hungry and up and coming. This is a crazy game. Respect to anyone that steps in that cage.
i think he is hungry and wanted to return but its been a year and Dustin is a killer that's been active. you can comeback and beat cowboy after a year but it couldn't be done for Dustin he is too good
@@severusfloki5778 fair point but everyone handles it differently Conor looked off this stance but it could of been a mental thing or something idk he dose. Gsp came back and looked good idk just not conor’s night
@@severusfloki5778 thats a dumb comparison, GSP came back and beat 1 eyed Bisping who was on the brink of retirement himself...also the weakest MW champ in years. Conor fought a hungry Poirier in his prime! I think Conor still wants to fight but really doesnt have that hunger anymore, he entered the UFC literally broke and was hungry to get belts and money. He has achieved all of that and is mostly a businessman these days. I blame the UFC for giving him the Mayweather boxing match, after that Conor became soo rich and stopped being a full time fighter...remember how active Conor was before that boxing match? and now look at him....barely fights anymore
As Bruce Lee said "show no emotion" A noble man with a noble cause he really is a diamond in the rough! Mac was to static for me as Dustin was In the 1st fight honestly Conner took Dustin for granted Mike brown was on-point I think Dustin's bang on the lockdown has killed it edit n for the record I think Dustin's right oliviera has more clout than chandler that would be the fight to make with Dustin or even Conner
@@bmorefan6112 Yeah conner has become different person, more calm and collected. It seems like he needs to get back to being aggressive and relentless.
@@bmorefan6112 think maybe wanting to extend the fight a bit longer might of been why he didnt jump on him, should of kept throwing hands like dustin said
Amazing to see Dustin have so many eyes on him now he’s a guy that well deserves that. And still the same real Badass fighter and just a cool human being. He fought himself out the struggle
His genuineness is refreshing. He comes out with the strategy, the strengths and admits where he was compromised and saw opportunities. Confident yet humble. Perfect! Hope he gets the exact string of contenders he wants next.
In first quarter of 2021, I would love to watch (for free streaming) these 155 lbs fights: Poirier vs Oliveira (title fight), Connor vs Diaz 3, Gaetje vs Chandler and Fergusson vs Hooker
They're not real reporters, same guy gets to ask questions every time, they tell little stories before softball questions, he should be an unbiased media jocking for position
Dana doesn't want real journalists anywhere near the sport they'd be exposing his shit all the time, ESPECIALLY that whole internet streamer thing which was painfully fucking fake 😂
Yeah I agree, it’s hard to find a reason not to give him the belt. Although I’d like the belt to be on the line officially and for him to feel like he genuinely won it.
@@dezzahayes6492 hard to find a reason? Because he didn't beat the champ lol wtf are you guys on, he needs to beat someone in a title fight something that this fight wasnt
Nah not yet McGregor down, now one more to go from either justin or oliveria whoever wins that fight. Porier himself being one of the guys who fought khabib needs to finish off justin for the belt. Oliveria deserves the belt too but he must go after justin. One more for porier, two more for justin or oliveria. That makes the most sense
Man this guy is pure gold. Stand up in and out of the ring, fights for a purpose and speaks/fights on behalf of the less fortunate. That is the real sign of a warrior. Connor has done some great things away from the cage too but often the antics and lifestyle really over shadow that. In a way, Connor has been humbled. He will probably make for some very exciting fights over the next year. Personally I think Connor has 2-3 more fights in him and then he retires on a win.
Dustin is the champ! Dude has his own foundation helping kids! Nobody deserves this more than him! Glad this fight was all about respect an Connor helping out as well. 💯 amazing‼️
I picked it!! The man has been working tirelessly, while the other has been living the Mac life. Dustin, is a genuine soul, I’m so happy to see people like him get up in the world. MAJOR RESPECT!
I'm so proud of the Diamond, from a chunk of Coal to a fully pressured Ninja....I hope you dives into his prime, with no Eagle perched.....it's his time.

I'd love to see a rematch. Conor actually fought slightly better most of the fight, but got KO'd after his leg gave up. Rematch could go either way to be honest.
I liked Dustin before this fight.. but hearing how humble he is and the heart that beats inside his chest helping and fundraising just boosted the respect level I have for this guy Much love from Toronto Canada 🤍🙏🏼🥊💪🏼🇨🇦
