My new most favoritest channel!! When I was a kid in the mid-60s my uncle logged his own land and ran his own one-man sawmill. He milled railroad ties out of oak in north-central Pennsylvania. God rest his soul. He ran an old monster Mac like those you're working on there! Thanks for bringing back those memories
Another great one from Buckin Billy. The more I watch the more I learn and the more it helps me to remember stories my grandad told me. Cuttin wood and fallin trees on power line roads when he worked for Pennsylvania power and light. I love it Buckin and I owe you and great big thanks for your videos they help those old memories surface and give me smiles. Be kind everyone.
Everything you do with saws and axes I enjoy it all , I’ve been into it for many years , I’m in my 50s and I’m still learning, love what your doing and educating me keeps the spark going .
Nice buckin I must say when I watch your videos it puts me in a better place brings my spirit up and I want to say that I'm sure glad I started following you because some days I am not always in a good mood but when I watch your videos it puts a smile on my face every time much love to you and your family peace love kindness
I see you lifting that old saw, and see that it takes some effort, I can't imagine lugging that saw all day doing big tree production cutting, those old fellers were some kind of tough! I can remember the first saw that I got back into service, the feeling of OMG its going to run, can remember the great felling that accompanied the moment. I see that feeling on your face, makes a man feel good about everything. grrrreat going buckin
you are the man. A good piece of advice on every video!!! My old man always says it doesn't cost a dime to be nice but the rewards are priceless. Keep up the good work.
New viewer. Buckin' I love your passion. I bought a McCulloch pro 10-10 forty two years ago to clear my land for a cabin. Still living in the cabin and still have my Mac. Still running it today. I haven't done a thing to the saw other than a bar a few years back and a couple of chains. Still running like new. Love my Mac. It has a big heart. Be safe my friend.
You are definitely tuned into the rhythm of your mind body and soul and life ! I learn so much on this channel ! Good vibes all over the place here ! Very refreshing !
Dude....you’re a trip! Way to transfer the positive vibes into her! You’re a crazy kid....my friend!!!👍😁😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Thanks for the guttural laughs!!! I just got an abdominal workout!!! “This is serious business....folks!” Ahahaaaa!!!
That’s a awesome beast of a saw. McCulloch was the first saw that I had bought new it is a timber bear that saw crank’s right on up, the oil pump quit working haven’t found a replacement for it, great channel buckin you are always informative and a great sense of humor keep up the good work.
Dragged out my McCulloch 3216 that I've had for about 35 years, hadn't used for 25.Put in new gas lines, spark plug and air cleaner, new primer bulb, fuel filter and blew out the carb with compressor, sharpened the chain(original)all for about 6 dollars from ebay and it runs like brand new!Been using it lately, thanks Buckin for reminding me to bust it out!
Man Buckin!! every time I hear you fire up one of those old McCullochs it brings a flood of memories of being with my dad out in our woods. I think he had a 300? Big heavy beast. Loud! Manual primers and oiler. Its long gone and my Dad as well. Over 26 years now, but the memories are with me forever. The simplest things like the sound of the old saws? I can't put into words what emotions it brings to me. Priceless!! Thank you for doing what you do! Sincerely, Gordy
Third 🥉hehe..welcome to the new subscribers and a salute for the true blues.. really enjoyed this one & was just in time for breakfast 🍳 here... have a fantastic hump 🐫🐫🐫🐫day everyone. Be kind. Love n hugs for our cynthinator and mama buckin....😎👍🇦🇺
Bucking I have watched many of your videos enjoyed every one of them but never laughed as hard as I've laughed on this one you are a great man Inspire us all and give all the credit to the man upstairs thank you buckin for your inspiration to all of us
Best method ever to clean a chainsaw but I put my glasses down? I love tinkerin’ too! Fixed two Tanaka’s, had to order a part for one and take the others hand grip apart to reposition the spring. So satisfying! Now to see if they will run! Loved the pour, sluce, pour metaphor! I like the gas can Bongo betterin’ the Drums!
that thing sounds awesome!! every time i watch your channel i get flashbacks of 12 years old with my Uncle and his brother in the woods teaching me to cut wood with a little Homelite and a 14" bar.. and every chance i had i would grab their bigger saws and run them till my arms gave out lol btw a new needle and seat or just a good cleaning and your set with that thing.
What a beautiful saw, wow sounds really solid. You will have the puppy running in no time. Hello to the family. And hello to all the new subscribers and the rest of the Buckin Army of kindness
man that's awesome I'm ready to see that dinosaur put to work I really love this channel you got I just subscribed and I'm glad I did I love seeing good ole people still able to work hard and enjoy life thank you your very inspiring
Hey Buckin'! Just picked up a Mac 640 Gear Drive and cannot wait to fire it up and try it in some wood. I agree. With that gearing, the torque must be phenomenol! Thanks for a great video! Building the Buckin' Army in Southeastern Pennsylvania!
Love the video, good to know that if things don't work out for you as a logger you always have drumming to fall back on. As far as your saw I'm very familiar with those carburetors, they use a huge diaphragm and it's easier to find unicorn horns and chicken teeth than one of those carb kits so if you do manage to find a source please let me know. There is a company that sells sheets of the diaphragm material and you can cut your own but looks a little tricky to rivet the metal disk back on. I have a 797 that uses the same carb along with 17 other McCulloch's. 51 total saw's and growing, trying to start a small chainsaw/logging museum in western North Carolina. Really enjoy your videos and enthusiasm Glad to see that I'm not the only guy out there that eats sleeps and breathes chainsaws
Almost pissed my pants laughing at the sight of Buckin praying to the chainsaw spirits and playing voodoo drums on a couple gas cans! That was hilarious. Ya freakin wingnut :) On a serious note that old saw sounds strong, that gear drive will pull a 48'' bar all day and never bog down no matter how hard you push it
You have a lot of chainsaws back there you're working on I can definitely tell which chainsaws your favorite you get kind of excited does you but I tell you what you're the man with all those chainsaws that's for sure and I definitely love the way you brought God into the video and you spoke to that boy whoever he was told him right God bless you now let's see that chainsaw run
Love the working on saw videos especially the surprise ones - little thing I do on tight tops & such - I keep diesel fuel in a spray bottle for anything like that top, put saw on side few sprays migrate to the corrosion then when it gives some don't try unscrew all the way- tighten back up a bit then loosen a bit then spray a bit then back 'b forth few time till she back off all the ways - Peace Friend your a Good Man see you on the other side one day!
Danse of the Chainsawitis 👏👍🤣🇮🇪🇫🇷🐸 you made my days , with these percussion my back is much better , this chainsaw look s like a Jumbo jet the size of this Mc 👏👍
Looking at the specs on that saw, it is a 99cc reed valve made in 1963/4. It has a 1/2 inch chain, and the power head alone weighs 27 1/2 lbs. It only says the carburettor is a McCulloch with a Primer. I bought a vintage lawn mower yesterday, that fired up using the same starting method.... Hi Hi..
Love these geardrives! If it's a flat back carb, I think they don't make kits 4them anymore. Way more "Wicked" torque when their carbs tuned nice(wicked heavy too...HA!)! Can't wait to see it in some wood! Big heart to the Buckin' Army and Family! 👍😎
So, enduring another day of drudge and grind. Oh, what's this? Buckin' is on, sweet. Day is better. Tho' if I end up attracting the spirits of the forest with Bongos, my missus will want a word with you!
Buckin try using a heat gun or hand held hair dryer and heat things up...WOW! GREAT WEATHER WE ARE HAVING!!!!...thanks for video and be kind all!...CONGRATS!!!---->>>73K subscribers! KOOL OLD SAW GEAR DRIVE!
I really love carb work. And have done a ton since i was a little guy. Tearing them down and soaking them and compressed air is your best bet if it runs like heck and you can not get any adjustments out of the high or low jet or have to prime to keep it running. I have done ao many its unreal. Just be carful for orings and washer and seats ect. That is a cool saw.
My friend had one in the 80s he let me use it on some rather big sugar/rock maples I live in New England and these trees get huge there hard wood this saw motored right thru them like nothing I wish I had that saw now it was really cool to run and hear!
It's a McCulloch flatback. I did a stihl 090 carb swap on my 895, just have to put the McCulloch tilly low profile bottom plate on the 090, then and flip the telly lever arm and you are good to go. Throttle linkage tweaking or custom done may have to happen. I zip ties the choke open and just use a squirt bottle to fire it over as my choke. Hope that helps.
It's usually the carb but by the struggle you had with the fuel cap, I'd bet the cap isn't venting either. There's a dozen parts inside the cap that you can pluck out and give 'em a clean. First pop the lid in the center of the cap off and go from there.
Back in the day we called this a Muckaluck. When I purchased mine back then. There was about 3ft of wire wrapped around the clutch. They do run though.
It has become apparent to me over the past 11 minutes and 37 seconds of watching this video that lumberjacks are a different breed lol. Cut from a very different cloth as opposed to the rest of the populace 😂😂
I got my McCulloch 650 running right . With that carb, it's an automatic choke . Let it idle when it starts to warm up , then give it throttle . Mine stops too if I try to rev it up too soon .
