I once had dutch Apple cheesecake. I can't remember where, I want to say the cheesecake factory but I’m not sure. all that I can remember is that it was the most Delicious thing I've ever had. Please please please try to make it.

Put your sliced apples in a large pot with a lid . Mix sure sugar cinnamon Etc together in a separate Bowl. Pour vanilla and lemon over the apples and put lid on pot and Shake vigorously. Remove lid and pour on sugar mixture all over the apples and shake once again. You get a better distribution than just stirring.

This pie is beyond delicious. I made it for Thanksgiving and making it again for Christmas!

While it's not exactly how we make our pie, plus we usually have whipped cream on top instead of ice-cream. It still look absolutely delicious!

I make a similar topping for all of my fruit pies, especially if they have apples in them. It's kind of like the topping on a coffee cake. This time of year I usually make apple-cranberry pies and in the spring/summer I do apple-blackberry. Delicious... thanks for sharing this!

Awesome video, Laura. To answer the the egg wash thought of the egg wash, it is used for shine and to seal tart or pie dough during pre-baking if you dock the dough. The way you did it, the egg wash can prevent too much moisture getting into the pie crust as soon as the eggs coagulate during baking... Once again.. Great video. I would love the opportunity to collab a dessert with you.

Edit; not a classis Dutch dish. We make it differently here! We would call this a appelkruimel taart. Which would translate to apple crumble. Omg I am dutch Laura you're amazing!

Do you have to pre bake the crust? I’m not sure it cooked all the way even after an 1hr and 10 min. (My crust at the bottom didn’t seem baked through)

This one I do not like with icecream? Only the Peach cobbler one..I like to add a little nutmeg to the filling and some Cinnamon to the crumble, though? Great recipe, Laura!!🩷👌👌👌
