I completely agree that de-het is not really important for beginners. I am learning it but when I started I noticed very fast that it doesn't really do anything comprehension-wise and just decided that if I don't know the gender I am just gonna use "de" as a placeholder until I learn the correct one someday. The participiums are far more important as you've stated

Dank u voor uw moeiten met uw video's, ik ben zo, ZO blij om uw kanaal te hebben gevonden! Ik heb uw al langs niet gevolgd, maar de weinige video's ik heb gekeekd zijn extreem behulpzaam geweest, vooral uw spreektalen want ik heb serieuze problemen met het luisteren... Maar goed, ik wil graag in Vlaanderen studeren en ik moet een B2 test slagen, maar ik weet niet welk niveau ik heb huidig. Ik kon uw spreektalen ongeveer 80/90% begrijpen, ik lees ook VRT's nieuws zonder te veel problemen (behalve een tientaal woorden per artikel circa), speel de weinige spelen ik kon in het Nederlands vinden en praat met Vlaamse vrienden, maar soms moet ik woorden of idiomen opzoeken. Om een lang verhaal kort te maken, ik wilde uw vragen als de dingen ik al doe zijn genoeg of niet volgens uw, en als u andere of betere suggesties had om de taal sneller te verbeteren. Als alles zoals gepland gaat, ga ik alleen drie maanden hebben om een B2 te krijgen voor de universiteits jaar begint in september, en ik ben waarschijnlijk er te nerveus over... In elk geval, dankuwel opnieuw voor alles u al doet, kan niet wachten op uw volgende video!
