Join us in Gap Pa in Amish Country for lunch at Dutch-Way restaurant. We will get a Amish favorite chicken croquettes and some fried oysters. So let's go check this place out. #dutchway #lancasterpa #foodie
LOL I loved that comment, "we gotta get out here" passing the wonderful grilled food. That made my day laughing thats something I would say wanting to eat again. Great video!
My wife and I will be visiting the area next week. We will definitely try this place out. Thanks for another great episode, and helping us to find new places to visit!
You two are special! Both of you are Very personable and the quality of video is awesome, Thank you for the travel and reviews. You are in some of the same areas where I grew up.
Bobby your orster dinner look Delicious the chicken croquettes look good too . I have not eaten there in a long time I will definitely have to go there again👍 thanks for sharing great video.
I love chicken croquettes. They are my favorite meal with shepherd's pie coming a close second. I had several college room mates who became best friends that were from the Reading PA area and were PA Dutch background. I graduated from Shippensburg State College, now Shippensburg University in Shippensburg PA near Harrisburg PA. I visited them often and learned to know their parents well. The parents spoke good PA Dutch as a language. I loved the area and lived in Bowman ille for almost 2years as we built 2 former students' house.
The grocery store is great. They often have meat sales. We shop there sometimes. Sorry I can't say anything about the restaurant. There are many great restaurants there. I live 20 minutes south of there. Would have loved to meet you.
Great video! Have you two ever been up to Michigan? I feel that you both would really enjoy Frankenmuth and a lot of the surrounding areas. Lots of great food, shopping and Christmas stuff.🎄
Several people have told us about that Christmas Shop. I went to Michigan about 25 years ago but John has never been there maybe we'll take a road trip.😎😎
Hey there John and Bobby I hope your day is a good one both of y'all some meals look excellent I like both of what y'all chose y'all end up finding these places I don't know how you do it guys I'm leaving out for Panama City Monday morning taking my granddaughter and my daughter for a week to get away I will try to get y'all videos in everyday till next video take care
Have eaten there at buffet many times over the years. Hope they bring it back it was one of the best! Also have gone to many banquets and get together there. Always great food and service!
I have friends who travel a lot outside lancaster and they dont know nothing about lancaster and thats a shame cause we have a lot of beautifull places to visit here , i just went to millers and zooks thanks to your videos 👍
nice. so good to see family farm business. i am watching a vlog of family farming up in northeast pa, ochs family, called the veggie boys. i liked their offerings. always nice to scan a menu and find a treat or to try something a place is known to do well.
I envy your chicken croquettes. I had them when I was 12 I've never found them on a menu since then and I'm 61 now I have wanted some all these years wish I could find some closer in Ohio. I'll keep looking, may have to take a trip back to Pa. Thanks for sharing love your vids
Nice!! Only 20 min or so from Lancaster, PA might be worth a trip if they ever bring back the full buffet. The Soups looked awesome and I LOVE how they evolved with the salad dressings. Kids are pigs when it comes to those on an open container.
John, the Dutch Way in Myerstowns in Lebanon county still has the buffet for breakfast and dinner. Should try that next time. I don’t believe I ever ate off their menu. Also I grew up with chicken croquettes and pot pie.
Oh what wonderful memories I have of growing up and having Chicken Croquettes with yellow chicken gravy over them, my mom would buy them frozen and occasionally we would go to Howard Johnsons and get them there, but we sure loved them. I made my own not to long ago quite by accident using turkey meat I had leftover, they started out as turkey meatballs but ended up tasting like croquettes, so when my husband tried one, he said make some gravy and these will be just like the croquettes we grew up eating, yum. Your meals both looked delicious, thank you for sharing your experience with us.
That salad bar looked awesome, so fresh and abundant! Bobbie, your plate looked so delicious. John, its too bad they didnt give you 4 of those chicken croquets instead of just 2. Those 2 croquets didn't look like enough, even though they looked wonderful.
Menu looks good, prices fair. Everything on the salad bar looked very fresh. I might have tried those chicken croquettes too John, but two would not have been enough for me!
I have to many of these restaurants that you review or know exactly where they are located. Loved Lancaster County also. I even have driven for Uber in those areas before the pandemic.
If you like chicken croquettes, you should go to Knight and Day on the Lititz Pike across from Brethern Village Home. They are at least twice the size of the ones you had at Dutchway.
The buffet was awesome. Covid killed buffets. Amish cooking can't be beat. Heading to Dieners on Tuesday with friends for ham loaf. Yes John croquettes are incredible.
I had chicken croquettes for dinner last night and the leftovers for tonight! Love ‘em! What route is that on, and did it used to be another market? It’s driving me nuts trying to remember what it was called!
Hey y’all ! I hope all is okay . I sent Bobbie an email( just a life update ) Thanks for another awesome video . I have been trying to catch up on your videos. Greg and I always enjoy them. We usually watch before he does go to work . Congrats on over 23k on your way to 25k 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🧡🤍Ren! ( I like the bread bar on this video being a carb lover lol )
Those croquettes looked pretty disappointing for the price. Great review guys, love watching the videos back here in England. Think I'd go to the market instead.
Hey guys, nicely done as always. Maybe it's just inflation and I shouldn't be so critical, but I thought lunch was a little pricey. The food looked good, although I think John's croquettes were a little well done. It probably tasted better than it looked. Anyway keep up the good work. I know your numbers will reflects your great efforts. Take care, your friend Mike.
Where are you guys from? Started watching your videos. We are from lancaster county, I see you do alot of videos here. You should try this awesome restaurant- Wyomissing Restaurant and Bakery in Reading, PA (Wyomissing, PA)
Aw man! It’s too bad they had to discontinue the hot foods buffet. Dutch Way was one of my alternatives to Shady Maple. Will still probably go there again some point soon tho!
Very good presentation. Of all of the Amish meal places, this Dutch-Way has always been our favorite, even over Shady Maple. However, we have not been there since it is not smorgasbord. Such a disappointment. I would have had fried oysters also Bobbie. Is the Blue Ball Firehouse Restaurant still open? They always had excellent fried oysters and delicious meat loaf.
BTW I live in Pennsylvania. Chicken croquettes are everywhere throughout eastern Pennsylvania not just in the Amish country area. They are in diners in Philadelphia.
I live about 10 minutes from that duchway location if you guys come back again go to the little Cafe in the store lobby they have very good soft pretzels there
I still would love for you to try some restaurants in Maryland that are very close to where you were . There are some very good places in North East, MD & Chesapeake MD. I will be happy to share some names.
Oyster season is coming up! Within 15 to 20 days there would be so many oysters shocked and ready to go all along the beach you can even get one in your Bloody Mary they say it it brings you good spirits and luck also great food at the Tampa Hard Rock Casino the beautiful street food is all around us God bless peace be with you much love and respect working on my box TCB⚡️⚡️⚡️😇
I also wanted to let you know next time your in the area duchway Market has another location up in myerstown pa in Lebanon County and that duchway market up there I believe they still do the full buffet at that location
